The Forging
In the blacksmiths shop we see a glow coming from the back door of the shop. The glow just barely has enough light that it shines off of the nameless blacksmiths other works that are hung up on the walls of the shop. As we come closer to the back door the light shows flickering and dancing along the walls. We walk into the back room to see the nameless blacksmith sitting In front of different types of metals. There is many types in front of him but he does not seem satisfied by it, if anything it makes him more grumpy. As the blacksmith is sitting in front of the metals you can hear him grumbling “too many choices, back where I come from we just had to use what we had”. He eventually throws his hands in the air and goes “Fine then I will just do them all”. The blacksmith grabs one of the metals and brings it over close to the fire. The metal shines In the light, the blacksmith looks over the metal with practiced movements and Judges the metal to be good enough with a small grunt. The blacksmith turns to the forge and just puts his hands in the fire for a second, then shakes his head and grabs some fuel for the fire and pumps the bellows a bit. The blacksmith then moves onto the next stage of putting the metal into the fire and carefully watches the metal blush into a reddish orange color. Once the metal is deemed the right color and heat by the blacksmith he just reaches his hand in the fire and takes it out with his bare hands. The heated metal is then kneaded on the anvil for a while like dough, the blacksmith then says “now back to the good old way” and grabs the hammer he has lying next to him and starts to hammer down on the metal with both hard and light strikes at many different angles until the metal is flattened out. The metal is then put back into the forge because it had been losing enough heat to become less malleable. When heated up to a satisfactory level the metal is pulled back out of the forge to be hammered some more, after hammering for a good long while the metal is starting to take shape of a weird spear head. This spear head is different from the rest because instead of it being like a blade it instead has the shape of 3 blades twisted in a way that clearly shows that they will catch the air to create rotation along with barbs sticking out of the blades to catch and rip flesh while the spear head is spinning. This spear head is obviously going to be used for hurting another. You can clearly see the distaste on the face of the blacksmiths face when he looks at the spear head, he grumbles to himself “it just ain’t right, weapons are supposed to be beautiful, not this”. The blacksmith sighs and goes back to work though, showing that he has to do this even if he does not want to. After the spear head is finished he goes to work on the shaft of the spear, he creates a multi layer shaft the allows the inner part of spin but still have the outer part stay in place as a good place to grip. There is a crank on the end of the spear shaft that you can pull back to open the top of the shaft so you can put a spear head in it. After the shaft is completed the blacksmith adds a few other things to it like being able to spin the spear head while it is still attached to the shaft and also being able to fire off the spear head into an enemy. The blacksmith fits the recently made spear head onto the spear shaft and looks at it in his hand, he then mutters “it looks horrible but I guess it really is needed for this battle”. After making a couple more spear heads you can see the glow of the forge in the back room slowly go away and the shop goes into only silence for the rest of the night.
