Epilogue: Is this a two player game?

Three weeks after the Reckoning began...

Lux was sat on her large gold and white throne, watching the big blue translucent sphere floating in front of her. This represented an insignificant world to her in the countless she governed. Across the surface were billions of tiny glowing red and white dots moving sporadically all around it.

The white dots represented the curse she had created and was hunting down and devouring the remaining red dots at a steady pace like some twisted strategy game.

Every red dot converted to a white dot was a human infected with her curse in real-time. At first, the rate of infection was fast with how it not only killed but converted the body into an unwilling host hunting and spreading the curse further. She had gotten the idea from this very planet and this brought her so much amusement!

These creatures had created a game with the end goal of developing the perfect virus to wipe out their entire species. This was achieved by controlling how the virus evolves to infect and kill the hosts. The concept was simple in theory, but creating a balance between infection speed and harmful symptoms to spread to enough people before they could adapt was difficult. This was just more proof that these human creatures needed to be ended she thought. These people were too destructive, they even found it fun to make games out of coming up with new and inventive ways of killing themselves.

She had been watching the slowing down in the conversion rate as the survivors of the beginning tried to hide and defend themselves adapting to the threat, this was to be expected she knew. She had also foreseen the few places where the red dots were being fought off and destroyed when encountering groups of white dots, she expected this resistance as well.

The part that was unexpected and causing her great annoyance was one single tiny red dot on the big chaotic blue sphere. The dot she was watching at this moment was white on first inspection making it her's, but when looking closer it had thin veins of black and red breaking up the overwise solid color.

It wasn't possible, she knew it must be some mistake, but that color shouldn't be there at all!

Her brother Nox had no power over this world anymore, she had seen to that herself when she gave them the spell to do it after all...

He was gaining way too much control over them, with how their violent nature aligned more to his side naturally. Without any influence there, she would lose access to the beautiful music they created, and she couldn't allow that.

It wasn't all bad for her brother though, unlike if he had succeeded, she entered a pact where he could still watch the planet but not interfere. This allowed her to stay in control but he got to still experience the stuff they created. "Win-Win", she thought!

Slamming her hand down in frustration, the armrest of the huge throne shattered from the force. She needed to know if her brother was responsible and if so what games he was up to?...
