Chapter 1

"I...I remember the rebels, and the ambush, and... I... got shot, then i felt a stinging pain in my head, and now I'm here."

"Did... did i die?"

"But that shouldn't have been possible."

"The armor should've kept me alive."

"I have a family to get back to."

"Maybe the Empire just sent us to die."

Remembering that I was shot in the head I started patting down all over my helmet looking for any holes.

After patting down every nook and cranny of the helmet I figured out that nothing was there.

Wait... Why the hell am i in a cave?

I started walking... and walking... and walking until I heard something, it was the sound of dripping water.

I started running towards the noise and was extremely disappointed.

It was only what it sounded like.

Thinking about it I tried to take my helmet off.

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

But it didn't come off, it felt like every single piece of my armor was welded together.

I started to become terrified, if I couldn't take my helmet off I couldn't eat or drink.

I tried to calm down, but i couldn't, knowing that i would die in a few days.

So i started walking, for what felt like days.

My legs felt like they would fall apart when i paid attention to how sore they were.

I was still gripping onto my blaster, like any sane man would if they were in a cave with nothing inside of it but darkness, and a gun.

But, i might not be sane after this.

After walking for around a month, i just start to fall down from how sore my legs were from not having a break for the entire walk.

My mind was in dire straits from the darkness, no one to talk to, and the continuous walking with seemingly no goal in sight.

I most likely have some mental issues after all of this, and my legs finally reached their desire to take a break.

"Clank."

I fell on my face making my helmet rattle off of the ground, the sound echoed throughout the cave.

"Good job on lasting the longest"???

An unknown voice resounded inside my head, sounding like a mix between a robot and an old man.

"Who are you?"

I said in a dry and raspy voice.

"Congratulations on beating the trial, you will now be sent into a world of swords and magic. And a gift for lasting the longest recorded from your planet, your blaster will be upgraded to have unlimited ammo."???

"Wait! Who are you, and what do you mean trial?!

"I am not allowed to say anything more than i am a messenger of your universes overseer. Goodbye, and good luck on your travels."

"What do you mean goodbye?!"

After i said this everything turned into the brightest light then dimmed down to the darkest black.
