The region of Galar...IS UNDER ATTACK! A dynamaxed Tyranitar is attacking the town of Spikesmuth, shooting a beam of light from its mouth, carving a crater of destruction from the town's front gates straight towards the gym area where team Yell hang out. Peirce, the leader of team Yell, gym leader of Spikesmuth, dark type Pokemon specialist, and lead singer of his band, stands guard, the beam ending right before him in front of his feet.
"You think we're just going to sit back and take that!? Well, you got another thing coming!" He screams, cueing his band to begin playing. The drummer begins a beat, Peirce taps his foot along as he caresses his microphone and stand, eyes closed, looking calm, going to that special place he does just before he performs. The Tyranitar gives a mighty roar in Peirce's direction, unphasing his courage.
The Maximums, a band consisting of a Rillaboom, a low-key Toxtricity, an amped Toxtricity, and an Obstagoon, appear to lend a hand. Obstagoon, owned by Peirce, gives a screech towards Tyranitar to lower its defenses, but Tyranitar summons a shield of light and returns the screech with a roar, eliminating stat changes, and follows up with stomping the ground, creating a rock wall vertically into the sky, and swipes it with a tail whip to send it crashing down towards the band.
"This just might be our curtain call" says Peirce, closing his eyes as the band braces for impact as vines rapidly shoot from the shadows, catching the falling rock wall and rebounding it back to crash land on Tyranitar instead. Peirce, having the impatient feeling of not being crushed, opens his eyes slowly to see they have been saved. A swift shadowy figure swings in on vines, leaping from building to building as the Tyranitar regains its composure, letting out a roar as it prepares for its next attack.
A whirlwind of leaves is summoned by the swift shadowy figure and are directed towards the roaring mouth of Tyranitar, filling its jowels full of foliage.
A huge explosion erupts from Tyranitar's mouth and all around it, signaling its defeat. Peirce wouldn't mind adding the dark-type Tyranitar to his team, but he doesn't have a wishing band, so he has no choice but to let Tyranitar go. Tyranitar shrinks back into its den.
"Rock ya' later then," says Peirce. Just beside him drops down the shadowy figure with a bellowing laugh.
"Hahahaha, do you see dat?! I, Kojo Dojo, have defeated that menace with ease!"
"Thanks for all your help," says Peirce. "Those moves of yours was like a Sucker Punch. Inspires me for a new song."
"YES! YES! A SONG ABOUT KOJO DOJO! THE GREAT HERO OF GALAR, HAHAHA!", Kojo replies, clapping wildly.
Peirce starts tapping his foot, gripping his mic stand. Rillaboom takes the cue and starts tapping his drumsticks together to the beat.
🎶A Dark Night for a Dark Knight. A Dark type of Dark-type. 🎶
Kojo slaps its palms to its ears, wincing at the sound of the music.
"Gah! This noise is not befitting for Kojo Dojo!" Kojo shouts. Kojo then shoots a vine from its wrist and swings away.
Peirce and his band rock on without notice.
Meanwhile, news breaks about the attacking Tyranitar at Spikesmuth.
"...what appears to be a dynamaxed Tyranitar is terrorizing Spikesmuth, as seen here. Thankfully, not for long, as the day was saved, once again, by the mysterious hero of Galar."
The TV is turned off.
"This is getting out of hand."
An elderly woman in a white lab coat steps towards a chalkboard with the help of her cane.
"I must do something. Find a perfect solution. That last experiment just didn't fit. If only I had just the perfect Pokemon. That's it! I'll make the perfect Pokemon! Mum always said, perfect Pokemon were made of Honey, heat, and everything sweet! So that's what I'll do!" the woman says triumphently as she finishes writing down her plans on the chalkboard.
The woman ventures out the next day to gather her ingredients. She narrowly escapes a Vespiquen and its army of Combee to gather honey, jars heat from harsh sunlight in the Dusty Bowl area, and picks sweet berries from Dapple Grove. Once all the ingredients are gathered, she returns to her hometown and stores them in her lab in the town of Wedgehurst. A chime sounds, signaling a delivery has been made. The woman answers the door to the sight of a postal Pelliper flying away. She gives it a wave and takes the package inside, reading that the delivery is for Professor Magnium.
"Oh it's for me!"
Relieved that a package not belonging to her granddaughter has finally come, she smiles in comfort at the expected delivery of starter Pokemon for new trainers from the breeding facility.
"Rotom phone, please ring Mrs. Dandy."
A few rings later.
"Yes, Mrs. Dandy? Yes. It's me. Please send Lii over. The delivery came today. Yes. Thank you, goodbye."
We find Lii and his younger brother Hip in Hip's room, talking brotherly.
"Lii, you and Chary get a move on! Today's the day and I already promised our neighbors that you'd be deliverin' their first Pokemon. Hip, you get a move on too and go get the neighbor's kid!"
"Let's have a champion time...um, where is Magnium's place exactly?"
*Anime fall down shock reaction*
A Chaizard flaps its wings and speeds ahead looking back to make sure its trainer is following.
"Just follow ya Chary and don't get lost!" Mrs. Dandy calls out.
"I betcha he gets lost." Hip says snarkily.
"Mind ya own and go on now! Your brother'll be fine. He's with Chary."
Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
"Ok, mum." Replies Hip. Off he sets with a tailing Wooloo.
We join Lii moments later arriving at Prof. Magnium's house.
"Hello! Hello! I'm here for the delivery!"
Out the upstairs window pokes out the head of a curious looking red haired girl.
"Lii!" She shouts. " What the duece are you doing here!? You're supposed to be at gran's lab!"
"Don't even say it" Lii remarks to Charizard, who replies with an exhaled sniff from its snout in irritation. "SORRY! I'LL BE ON MY WAY THEN!" Lii shouts as he hightails it away from the house.
Back at Prof. Magnium's lab, she's just finished organizing her items for her plans and sets her ingredients down to answer the door yet again after hearing a roar and some rapping at the door.
"Sorry I'm late. I got lost, again. So sorry!"
she hears from outside.
"It's ok dear! I'll be there in a minute." she replies, while thinking, least he's cheap, and by cheap meaning free. All the lab work isn't cheap, so cost must be cut where it can. She meets Lii at the door and opens the carrying case revealing three pokeballs inside. "Now Lii, I don't mind you getting lost dear, but DON'T LOSE THESE! Am I clear?"
"Not a problem. They're safe with me."
"Then run along. You're late enough as it is and I have work to do!". If it wasn't for his Charizard, I wouldn't trust this task with this lad, but he finds his way eventually. Plus he's capable if he runs into any trouble, she thinks.
Lii and his Charizard make their way back home when a fan recognizes him and causes a commotion. Charizard is annoyed by the attention but Lii consoles it.
"It's ok, it'll just be a moment. Comes with the territory of being the Galar League Champion." Lii welcomes his adoring fans, one of which accidentally knocks the pokeballs Lii had on his belt off and they roll down the hillside out of sight. A Grookey breaks free and is curious about its surroundings. Using its stick, it releases a Sobble and Scorbunny from the remaining balls. Sobble, confused about its surroundings, starts getting anxious while Grookey asks it to play and explore with it. Scorbunny feels it's a bad idea and tries to boss the Pokemon back into their balls. Grookey refuses and motions to play instead, seeking agreeance from Sobble, who then bursts into tears with a cry. This causes the others to cry uncontrollably and this upsets Sobble even more, so it jumps into a nearby stream and swims upstream. Grookey regains its composure first and looks for where Sobble went and follows the sound of its wailing along the river. Scorbunny finally gets its composure next and shouts for them to get back here. Taking on the responsibility of their well being, it races after them.
Sobble gets startled by a jumping Magikarp and ends up skyrocketing into the sky and lands atop of Prof. Magnium's lab. Grookey caught the sight of a shooting Sobble in the sky and thinks that looks like a load of fun and follows into Sobble's direction. Scorbunny, not far behind, catches a glimpse of Grookey's direction and pursues. Sobble crawls towards a skylight, trying to look for a way back down. Grookey hurriedly climbs up along the walls to meet it, startling Sobble to fall inside. A single scale falls from its body and lands in a cauldron. Scorbunny, nearing closer, speeds up and uses its speed to propel itself up the wall to Grookey, but can't slow down in time not to crash into it, sending them both tumbling down into the opening as well, landing right on top of Sobble. A hair from Grookey and Scorbunny then falls and lands in the cauldron too. Sobble is about to cry when Scorbunny puts a paw over its lips to shush it. Grookey pulls itself free from the pile and starts to explore the room they've landed in, finding a jar and placing on its head. Scorbunny gets up and takes the jar off of Grookey's head and puts it down, telling Grookey they need to leave and get back to their Pokeballs. Just then, Sobble starts to cry again and both Grookey and Scorbunny simultaneously place a paw on Sobble's mouth to shush it. Scorbunny and Grookey hear someone is coming, Scorbunny finding an escape out a nearby open window and Grookey thinking its an opportunity to play. Scorbunny grabs the other two and bolts for the window just as Prof. Magnium enters the room.
Scorbunny manages to carry Sobble and Grookey all the way back to their Pokeballs and get them to return in time for Charizard to discover them by the bush, letting out a signaling flame to alert Lii of its discovery. Meanwhile, back at Prof. Magnium's lab, she prepares a cauldron over a burner and gathers her ingredients. Honey, heat, and everything sweet, dumped into the cauldron. A lever is turned to release a liquid to join the concoction, stemming from a container marked "Ditto DNA Extract (From Concentration)". Prof. Magnium stirs the concoction steadily, watching as it boils, making sure not to stir too fast. She remembers making curry with her friends in her youth this way, three other kids assisting. While in nostalgic thought, through the skylight, falling from the sky as if from out of nowhere, falls a wishing star. The impact from falling into the cauldron causes a huge explosion, knocking Prof. Magnium back into a pile of boxes, unconscious.
Prof. Magnium slowly opens her eyes to a glowing light, where in the cauldron three glowing entities form, and looking as though looking at the glow from a Pokemon's evolution, the entities turn into a Sobble, Grookey, and Scorbunny, but look just a bit different than what the professor is used to. Their eyes, big like saucers, with glowing irises. They emerge from the cauldron and lay their eyes on Prof. Magnium, and like first born baby birds, immediately feel a connection with the professor, and rush to hug her like children missing their mother. She feels their embrace and their stare as they look deeply into her eyes with smiles. Looking back at them, she knew they were something special, and she couldn't resist the urge to hug them back.
