“Is it ready?” he asked with noticeable anticipation.
“Yes, it is. A perfect combination of biotechnology and biometamaterials. The army won't know what hit them," he replied.
“Well, I don't see it," he said.
“It's up there”he pointed to the ceiling.
From the ceiling, a serpentine shadow about two meters long started moving. It stealthily descended until it stopped next to the professor. Suddenly, its color changed, revealing a giant lizard with large eyes and elongated pupils. It flicked its forked tongue and stared at him as if he were its prey. The soldier was filled with terror and tremblingly asked:
“What is that? “
“Just what the resistance needs. I won't bore you with the details; I'll tell you what you need for your mission. It's a creature capable of seeing in both light and darkness, climbing any surface, and almost perfect camouflage, as you observed. It's intelligent, has electrical powers, and ultra-speed, both reflexes and voluntary movements, and if necessary, venom.”
“Was it necessary to make it so...” the soldier couldn't take his eyes off the creature, and it stared back at him.
“Everything for the cause!” he interrupted. “This specimen is the first of twelve currently growing. Sexual reproduction allows beneficial mutations and mixing of races. Soon, we'll have one for each elite soldier, and we'll be able to infiltrate any enemy base.”
“I don't see how...” he continued, still angry about the interruption.
“Electromagnetic shockwaves. I took care of protecting your electronic equipment. The usefulness of its other abilities will become apparent in your next mission” he said proudly.
The soldier resigned himself to dealing with this thing. "This mad scientist, if it weren't for the high command, I'd rip his face apart. I'm perfectly capable of an infiltration mission, I just need a good weapon, not this legged snake," he thought. The scientist gave him his new equipment and said:
“It's time for you to synchronize virtually so that Bioweapon-R will obey you” said the professor.
“Yes, I know, I know” he said resignedly. “Everything for the cause” he thought as he installed the program and used it for synchronization. The creature went from looking at him with suspicion to simply looking at him with curiosity. Even so, he didn't like it.
“I'll give you a name; you'll be Boa” he said, a bit annoyed.
“Inaccurate. It's not a snake; it's a kind of lizard “ the scientist replied.
“And dogs aren't bears, but many are called that” he replied sarcastically. The scientist said nothing, but his annoyance was evident on his face.

Both the man and the creature left the laboratory. They were greeted by a girl in her mid-twenties.
“Well, well, what do we have here? It's Roger with a new companion” she said.
“Don't tease me, Gloria. High command forces me to take care of this thing for the next mission” he said unhappily. “Besides, the professor told me that all elites will have to deal with one of these, so get ready.” The girl looked at the lizard, flicking its forked tongue and staring at her, which made her shiver.
“You must be kidding “ she smiled nervously.
“No I don’t, so get ready” he said with a smile.
When they were out of sight, he said to the creature “It seems you have some usefulness after all. Let's go to the training room, Boa.” The creature nodded its head, which puzzled the soldier for a moment.
After several days of training, he had already gotten used to the giant lizard. He noticed its impressive speed, as they had described, and its cold intelligence. It was strange how his mind barely gave it a command, and the creature found the most efficient solution in the shortest possible time, sometimes within hundredths of a second. Its electric powers were also amazing, with deadly discharges and shockwaves that neutralized electronic devices several meters away. During training, there were moments when they moved as if they were one, complementing each other. Something strange even happened; when he made a mistake, the creature corrected it, and if he needed something, it brought it to him before he even asked. Roger himself admitted that it would be a great addition to the resistance. Finally, the day of the decisive mission arrived.
The helicopter dropped them several kilometers from the target. He attached a silencer to his weapon, put on his night vision goggles, and mentally communicated to Boa to follow him closely. Walking through the forest, they encountered a surveillance van. Roger gave the order, and at that moment, Boa disappeared into the shadows. The lights went out, confusing all the guards, who tried to communicate but to no avail. The last thing they saw was Bioweapon-R's eyes before it bit their throats. One guard tried to run away, but Roger intercepted him with a shot. He knew they had little time to complete the mission.
They reached the building's gate, and again, everything went dark. The creature climbed the fence and, looking at the guard, struck him with its tail. Meanwhile, taking advantage of the lack of electricity, Roger knocked down the door, and they both entered the building. After going through several corridors, they reached their destination, the data room, where Roger retrieved the counterattack plans. But he noticed something else. He turned pale when he realized that the army was planning to bomb their base that same night. However, he knew that if he alerted his comrades, he would jeopardize what he had achieved in the mission and also his life. He hesitated for a moment but, taking out his communicator and trembling, he said to them:
“This is Command 7, they plan to bomb the base, I repeat, they plan to bomb the base now” he said amidst screams and with an interrupted voice.
“Understood, Command. Evacuation plans on course” they replied coldly.
Soldiers arrived, and Roger shouted “Everything for the cause!” and began shooting. The sound of the gun echoed in the room. With electrical flashes, Boa did everything it could to keep as many soldiers at bay as possible, but there were too many, and in a final burst, the rebel fell dead. Boa approached the corpse with super-speed, then looked angrily at the soldiers, and with a terrible screech, released an electrical shock so powerful that it killed everything within several meters. The creature then vanished from exhaustion. When the new wave of soldiers arrived, she was gone.
Meanwhile, at the base, the army faced those who were escaping from it. The professor was one of the casualties, and his research was destroyed by the bombs. All the Bioweapon-Rs escaped.
