Luo peeked inside the window and saw three hooded figures, one with a mash, two with the hood just covering their faces.
"Where is it Leo!" The masked man said.
"Where's what? I don't know-" Leo replied.
"The gauntlet... Where is it?!" The masked man interrupted.
Hmm... The situation looks dire... Dad(Leo) has his sword drawn. Luvon and Irui seem to be hanging back, I guess? Jema, Sylph and Mom aren't anywhere near here. I think they're preparing a spell... I... I don't know what to-
<>Resilient Mind has been applied.<>
Wha-? This skill forces me to calm down? Wait... Let me think about this. They're technically outnumbered right? Hmm... I don't have much MP left... 40 left... After I dispelled the sword too... Dammit... This just like the old days... Well... Guess it's another breach and clear. Am I right?
Luo, as he opened the door, he prepares 'Flash' simultaneously.
"DAD! Get ready!" Luo shouted as he launched the skill.
(Just to clarify, when you shoot a word like Flash, it shoots like a cone. Think of a flashlight.)
The attackers were surprised, as they had exclaimed a quick yell before they were blinded.
"Dad! Go!"
"How did you- That doesn't matter. Luvon! Irui! With me!" Leo exclaimed.
They quickly disable and incapacitate the attackers.
"Irui, use your senses to detect if there are any others. Luvon, prepare your bow just in case. And Luo..." Leo thinks for a while. "Luo, go check on your sister and mother. I'm going to keep watch of these three." Leo said.
"There's also one outside Dad." Luo remarked.
"You did that? Well, I'll just have to ask you later. Go downstairs." Leo ordered. And Luo followed them.
When Luo went downstairs, Leo's true intentions appeared. "Luvon, me and you are gonna take them to the back and interrogate them."
"Agreed." Luvon replied.
"Oh and, sorry for letting this happen on your visit."
"Well... We have made a lot of enemies throughout our journey." Luvon pointed out.
"Yeah, as well as a lot of allies as well." Leo replied.
There was a slight silence, before Irui tuned in.
"No one else, it seems. You should be safe."
"Alright... Let's get started." Leo said.
Meanwhile, in the basement, Luo found his mom and sister. As well as Sylph. Lucy was buffing (enhancing people through skills, lasts temporarily) herself and Jema. Luo too when he came into line of sight. Jema was practicing her swordplay and Sylph was playing with Lucy.

"Mom! Sis! You guys are both safe... Thank goodness... Sylph too!" Luo said, relieved as can be.
"Luo! It's good to see you too... But how did you get pass the attackers?" Lucy questioned.
"Dad, Luvon and Irui took care of them... So, what do we do now?" Luo questioned.
"We wait... Of course, that's what it almost always is, isn't it?"
"So it's always like this?" Luo asked.
"Oh... Right. You haven't been around as long Jema has. You see, ever since Leo and I went on that journey we always talk about, we've made a lot of friends. And a lot of enemies as well..."
Well... I made a lot of enemies too, on my travels back then... Though, some food and drink always remedied the problem.
"Well then. I guess we just wait." Luo said. Luo grabbed a book from his inventory when no one was looking, and started reading it. It was a skill book called "Basic Mana Control: Part One."
It detailed of course, how to use mana from your mana pool. First, you get some power from where your mana pool usually is, it's envisioned to be somewhere above the stomach. Of course, you could draw some from the air too, but that's for another book. Then, you form it. Saying the spell is usually the best way of forming it. Staves are pretty useful too, as they too have a mana pool, but usually are limited to one element. Speaking of elements, every person is born with an innate talent to a certain element. When a spell is used, and the elements align, the spell gets stronger.
Then, it also detailed where mana originally came from. They say the Sun God, Sol, and The Moon God, Umbra, had a great battle. It was originally for who gets more time to encompass Aethis, and in return, gets more power because more people are worshipping them. The fight looked endless, not one side was backing down, every wound, mana dripped out from the both the god's skin. Eventually, that mana integrated itself into the plants, into the air. Allowing people to be able to cast spells as well. Not as powerful as the gods though, yet.

Luo finishes reading the book.

<>Increases Mana Regen Speed by 50%, Decreases Mana Usage by 10%, Enables Learning of Basic Bolt Skills. Able to process Soul Power.<>
That is actually a pretty good skill, I mean it increases my Mana Regen by a whole lot. And every skill I use now has lesser mana usage too... Hm... What are Bolt Skills? Probably low-level spells, oh well. And what's this Soul Power? Hm... I don't know, but it seems to be working though, I can feel my mana pool increasing a lot faster... Feels good.
During that hour, Luo was able to regen all of his mana.
Everyone's silence was broken when they heard footsteps coming down from the wooden stairs, followed by a "HEY LUCY!" From Irui. Irui went down the stairs, as well as Luvon. Sylph jogged, almost ran, to her mom.
"Where's Leo?" Lucy asked. "Is he okay? should he be-"
"He's fine, and you know what's happening."
"Oh... I see. Well, We're sorry for this."
"Don't be, we know it wasn't planned." Irui said. She picked up Sylph, and frowned.
"Remnants of the past, eh? Can't believe we saw Felheart again. I thought he fell with the rest of the guild... The rest of his guild." Irui said, a somber atmosphere fills the air.
"Well, these might be the last ones, else we might have to move back to the homelands, if all else fails, of course." Lucy replied.
"Back to... Resilt?" Irui said. She stood in silence, trying to calculate every movement. Before tuning in... "Okay, if we have to. But we'll just wait and see."
"Resilt eh?" Luvon heard. "Heard there was a new requirement being put into that city. Something about the Academy?"
"The Academy? Oh, yes. Some of our friends over there told us. They said that 'if you have children between the ages 3 to 12, they would have to enroll in the Academy.'" Lucy remarked.
"Resilt is a pretty neutral city, to be honest. They don't many allies, but they don't have any enemies. Plus, I heard it's a melting pot of all the races. But the Academy is pretty weird, it trains children a skills normally used for battle, right?" Luvon said, with a curious tone at the end.
"Not just that, but also some education as well, think of them more like a guild than anything else. They also teach professions as well." Irui replied.
"That's pretty nice, actually... Maybe we should send our kids there, even if we don't get attacked anymore..." Lucy replied.
The conversation stops when Leo appears from the stairs, as he walks down, it became very apparent of what happened. The smell of blood fills the air, and, no matter how much they can dress it up... Leo covered up most of the blood on his shirt with a jacket. Not his blood mind you, he walked in with a serious face.
"So uh, good news first. We know what happened to Felheart's guild. Bad news, they rebuilt themselves. Good news again, the guild isn't run by Felheart anymore. Felheart seemed to have had a... falling out. Not sure if their goals have changed or not." Leo said.
"Well, what should we do then?" Luvon asked.
"Recon, preferably." Leo responded.
"We can't just bring the kids too, you know." Lucy said.
"Well, what was that Academy talk you were having about? We can just send them there. And with Luvon and Irui..."
"Don't worry about it, we will just send Sylph back to the homeland, of course, she will be escorted." Irui said.
"Heh. Guess our years of peace weren't truly over then, huh?" Lucy remarked.
"Yeah, but peace doesn't last forever, you know this." Leo said, trying to add his sense into it.
"Well... This is the best way. We have to, not only just for us, but for them as well." Luvon said, gesturing to the kids.
"Alright, we have to let the kids leave as soon as possible. I'll send a letter to our relatives and Resilt. Okay Lucy?" Leo asked.
"That's fine, I'll arrange a carriage to bring both Jema and Luo to Resilt. Fine with you Leo?" Lucy questioned.
"Fine by me, now we just have to..." All the adults in the room conversing with each other, talking about sending us to the Academy and such...
"Hey Sis." Luo whispered to Jema. "How do you feel about-"
Luo stops and sees Jema crying. She cries a little, but Luo was able to sit on her lap and calm her down.
"Don't worry too much about this... Okay? I'm sure we can get through somehow..." Luo says...
Somehow...
