Home Realm Unlocked!
I woke up with a start, startled at the sudden thing shoved in front of my face.
I slapped the thing and it disappeared, the problem was that my arm didn't appear.
"Where the fuck is my body?"
The panic took a while to dissipate and a long moment afterwards to notice that if I paid attention, I could see the entirety of the room as if I have 360 vision!
So I zoom my view a bit out, showing a tiled room 5 by 5 with a floating beating black rock with red veins labelled "Core" and a tunnel that led northwards.
I did nothing but scream and swear at everything, but eventually, I calmed down, piece by piece of broken memories, I could swear I was your average Joe living on Earth yesterday, but now I was a core? No, I was the entire floor, the entire Realm with the core working like a lich's phylactery.
"Is this my realm the big popup mentioned??"
Core Influence: Determines the area that is owned by you! Can spawn units, and items, build rooms and cast spells inside this area!
"And my influence is the entire realm? Which is..."
I zoom out, then zoom out, again zoom out and finally zoom out.
My realm is huge, a giant underground floor the size of an island filled with dirt, the core room, a foggy area and the tunnel that leads north to the other side of the floor.
"And the edges are black? black rock?"
Void Block: Nothing can break this wall, making it a perfect defence against outside invasion.
"Can't tell if that's good or not? Uh, what's this?"
Taking a closer look, at the other side of the floor is another 5 by 5 room with a powered-off gate.
Realm Gateway:
A portal that connects to other realms, one at a time.
With no minions to summon, no rooms to build, no resources and only the fireball spell available I decided to open the gate, a purple vortex forming into a portal.
I waited and waited. Got no idea for how long, but it must have lasted a few hours.
Eventually, something came through, a tiny brown form rolling a bit as it had just tripped from the other side.
As it stop rolling, the creature sat on the floor, rubbing its head before staring dumbfounded at his surroundings.
It was small compared to the tiles, with brow skin, long ears and wears a rag on its waist.
Took me some time to recall but I remember now what the skinny thing is.

A brown minion from the overlord game stood at the gate room as I wasted time shocked at realizing this was real, I could connect to different worlds.
But I had to act fast.
As the creature rose to its feet, I spammed fireballs continuously, its body turning into a roast corpse and releasing a brown light that floated a bit above.
New resource Brown life-force unlocked!
Brown Minion Unlocked!
A new resource unlocked, 1 brown life force collected and a new creature became available that I could spawn. The brown minion.
I had no time to waste, got no idea what was the timeline on the other side and it could be seconds before either more minions, an overlord or some pesky hero drop into my realm.
So I spent the one life force I had into creating my first brown, who after spawning stood with its claws facing the tunnel. "Guard Mastah!"
Moments later a large figure in armour appeared followed by some tiny-sized ones.

So the overlord brought 5 minions, thank the dark gods, this meant he was still in the early game.
I let him take a quick look at the room and start his march through the tunnel as I could not let him escape only to return later at max power and bring a larger army.
So I played the defenceless dungeon core with no defences. Waiting until he reached halfway before aiming fireballs at its minions.
Took less than a minute, but with the kills giving life force, 5 more browns were created and dropped at the gate as I picked my first brown, dropping him next to his new friends, the minions now rushed through the long corridor and I began hitting their overlord leader with fireballs.
The overlord seeing his minions fall and getting hit by fireballs began to retreat, only to be blocked before reaching the gate room, forced to fight my minions while trying to dodge my fireballs, which 50% hit and the other half was dodged or cut in half by his axe.

Possession Spell unlocked!
New Boss 'The third Overlord' available!
Finally, he fell, and I gained the means to spawn my Overlord, 26 brown energy and the spell to possess my creatures.
I recalled then from my memories, it seemed that this overlord had just finished killing sheep for extra lifeforce but didn't reach the pumpkin farm to retrieve the tower core.
With another 26 new brown minions and my, Overlord created, who I seem to be able to spawn only once, it must be, I guess I can consider him a Boss/Hero/General? My plan to expand could begin.
"Master." The knight knelled facing the core. "I am yours to command!"
"Tell me, what do you know of the Overlord World?"
"Memories, everything of the campaigns lead by your guide, moved the overlords in their path."
Perplexed, after some other subtle questions, it turns out my overlord has memories of me playing the first two games and what I knew of the third, well I wouldn't call it a sequel and I shall not mention the rest.
But, this is very useful, making my first general know how to conquer and manage the overworld world like my playthrough.
"Then you are prepared and know what to do?"
"Yes, I shall be your champion on this great campaign to conquer The World and bring you a sample of everything plus resources and life force that I farm to improve and expand your great Realm."
"Then go forth and bring victories in my name!"
With its orders, the being took his predecessor's place, commanding five of my minions to follow him to the other realm.
The browns returned carrying the brown nest a moment, along with some random minion gear, weapons and gold.
Brown Hive unlocked!
Treasury room unlocked!
With that, it was unlocked and costs me 400 gold each.
So for now I spawned one for me and assumed control of the original for him, he took it, and my somewhat planned campaign for the overlord world first step was complete.
Lucky me that one of the weapons is a pickaxe. One of the minions picked it up and with orders began tunnelling just outside to the core room towards the east, as I sensed something familiar in the foggy area.
You have discovered your Gem Shrine!
Alas after a long time, a 5 by 5 room was revealed with a gem shrine.
Gem shrines are 3 by 3, where 4 minions can mine it for gold and gems, it was unlimited income but it took a while to gather than normal.
Treasury was unlocked the moment those gold coins the overlord brought touched my tiles, so as the minion mined, I built tile by tile around this shrine.
I was stuck for now with 1 miner minion until I get more mining gear or get the forge available that is used to build metal-type items.
But where did the pickaxe come from? Probably the vases near the start of the game.
----------------------------------------
"Then go forth and bring victories in my name!"
At his father's words, the Overlord beat his right fist against his chest and departed followed by 5 brows, returning to the Mellow Hills.
Reaching The World, the name of Overlord game world, a voice spoke to him, Gnarl stood before him.
Gnarl is a very old minion, shown by his greyed skin and white beard, glowing crystal hanging from a wooden stick, strapped to his back as a lantern, his true age is unknown.

"Sire! What happened?"
"Something that you will learn in due time," he told him, following the path down and then left, sending his minions to kill sheep and look for the vases nearby. "I shall bring the tower heart, meanwhile, order some browns with the life force that I collect to bring their hive near the gate."
"What?" The old minion became surprised and confused, the overworld had not spoken before, and his first order by word was something that never happened with his predecessors. "Why?"
"Just do it Gnarl!"
"Very well Sire"
Returning to the gateway, I ordered my minions to deliver their hive to Father and return with it owned by him.
As brown hive is returned to its place on the tower, I begin my first quest.
The pillar blocking the path was moved away, clearing the way to the right, leading to a farm of pumpkins.
A human in farmer clothes stuck as a scarecrow got surprised at seeing me.
"Halflings took over my farm. Tied me up in the sun, to scare the birds! Now those pumpkins are plotting against poor Bob. Thy want revenge for tha pies I made, the soup, and the jelly, and the, er, icer-cream! I hear the pumpkins whispering at night! But I won't leave ma farm to tha Halflings... Oh No! They´re worse than the pumpkins! Please help Bob get Bobs's farm back."
At my command the browns began smashing the orange vegetables, as the farm babbled about pumpkins screaming, birds laughing at him, in league with the pumpkins.
More loot from the hut of the farm, more barrels.
"Woohoo! That showed hem! Oh, you´d better get going, sonny. Now the path behind ma house leads to the village of Spree. Oh, I bet there are more of them fat little demons about, so do be careful.
Me, well I think I´ll stay here. Fix ma farm. Maybe grow some marrows instead. Yeah, marrows don't talk so much. Yeah, that be nice..."
More random vases, and Gnarl saying something about minions picking items, even useless ones.
I ordered to bring everything, even the mushrooms.
Three halflings sleeping killed with a quick swing of my axe and kept walking as the bridge they were "guarding" could only be dropped from the other side.
Ah, there it is, the tower heart, Gnarl saying something about it being used to grow pumpkins.
Smash more vegetables, minions pick the heart, and I drop the wall to create a bridge to the portal.
With my first quest complete and Gnarl finished screaming at the minions, it was time to send the loot and report to Father.
----------------------------------------
My overlord´s browns returned bringing in items.
Farm unlocked!
Warehouse Unlocked!
Grass, pumpkins, sunflowers and mushrooms added to the farm!
New Blueprints saved!
Two dead sheep so I could now spawn sheep .
Grass, pumpkins, sunflowers and mushrooms unlocked the farms.
Weapons, 2 pickaxes, 3 pitchforks, 2 sickles, 2 long sickles, 2 maces and 1 hatchet.
Helmets, 2 peasant hats, 3 Jack-o'-lanterns and one spiked helmet.
Armour, 2 sets of gloves and 3 leather vests.
And an extra 21 brown lifeforce.
"Report"
"Master, I recovered the tower heart, now able to command 10 minions and use the fire spell. Gnarl inquired what the new extra gateway connection leads to, but I told him to wait.
The pumpkin farm was cleared and the halflings purged.
With your permission, I shall begin the quest for the crane and tower renovation"
"Very well, you may go."
The overlord nodded, beating his fist on the chest before departing.
With new orders the minion miner left the gem shrine, picked by my hand and dropped at the core room, he began tunnelling to the east, followed by two other browns with pickaxes.
After a good distance, new rooms to the south sprang to life, 5 by 20, this would take some time.
One room became the sheep farm filled with grass and with 2 spawned sheep for 2 brown life-force, the things somehow began to multiply fast.
The second farm room had its floor of dirt slowly growing mushrooms.
Meat and mushrooms were now on the menu and I had wool to build items.
To the north 5 by 5 rooms were added for future workshop rooms, plus a 5 by 5 warehouse.
All this took a long time as eventually, the overlord returned, this time with extra people.
