Vol: 1 Ch: 9

Vincent gently opened the first page of the book in elvish called “The records of gods”.

The book itself was made with red leather and golden edges. And the insides of the book seemed to be only somewhat old. Vincent began reading the book filled with anticipation.

Preface:

Hello there, to the one reading this book. My name is Levis Magia. From the Elven Magia family. You might’ve heard of it. I am writing this book in great hopes that you, who is reading this, will one day use the knowledge in this book to defeat ‘Them’. Of course, if you fail this book will just be passed down to someone else.

Anyways, I won’t take too much of your time on this preface. The book is easy enough to be figured out without the need for me to guide you.

Here’s just one last piece of advice from me, who has lived from the beginning of the fourth epoch till whenever you are reading this. Hopefully.

Never put your faith in ‘Them’.

‘They’ aren’t benevolent.

And oh. I think I don't need to tell you this. Even though most of ‘them’ know of my existence already, Do not snitch on me.

Vincent closed the book shut gently and put it in the large pouch he was carrying. ‘This book is interesting indeed. But not what I came here for.’

Vincent kept the book with him and began looking through the other books.

An advanced guide to magic. by a nameless god.

The divine path by a nameless god.

The way of the wind by Lord of Storms.

The wa….

‘There’s more interesting stuff than I had originally thought…’ Vincent thought inwardly while walking on the rough floor of the library while carrying a big pouch filled with books in his hands. ‘But none of these are what I want though… Perhaps that ‘Records of gods’ or ‘Advanced guide to magic’ could be a bit helpful, but I'm looking for rituals..’

Vincent thought inwardly with a sigh. He began searching for a book related to rituals once more and after a bit more searching ‘Found it!’

Vincent Exclaimed while hurriedly putting the book in his bag and leaving that place.

“These are the two ones that will most likely have information about ‘The Vow’.” Vincent spoke as he made himself comfortable on a chair and handed a book to Abraham. ‘The records of gods…’

Abraham read the title and got filled with curiosity. He opened the book and began reading the interface. ‘Elvish. Well, thankfully Alfred forced me to learn it or else it would’ve been difficult for me. Let’s see… Magia family eh. Magia... That translates to Magic. What a lame-ass name.’

Abraham continued reading the preface and finished it all within a minute. ‘The fourth epoch… Interesting. I wonder which epoch we’re on’

‘This book was clearly made with an ulterior motive other than money in mind. I mean, Mr. Ievis admits it himself. But… going against the gods is quite the fearless goal indeed. And this ‘Advice’ is quite concerning. Is he trying to say every god is evil?’

Abraham thought for a while and let out a sigh. “Vincent, the name of the god these people worship was ‘The Most Ancient Creator’ right?”

He spoke to Vincent who was busy finding out about the ritual. “That’s correct.”

Vincent responded back and went back to focusing on his task. Abraham kept turning the pages of the book. He passed by several interesting topics but he didn’t have time for that yet. ‘Found it.’

In the book, There it was, written in bold words. “The Most Ancient creator.”

Abraham began reading what the text contained.

I honestly do not have much information about the ‘Most Ancient Creator.’ Other than the fact that he one day popped out of nowhere at the beginning of the first epoch. Not even most gods know anything about him. I think. In any case, I do not believe his alignment is good. After looking at his believers, I am certain of it. He is an ‘Evil god’.

Since I did not give you any information about ‘The most Ancient Creator.’ I will tell you more about his followers.

They are quite the madmen you see. The Ancient Creator is quite obviously an evil god. Yet they follow him die heartedly. Almost like… They are being controlled. They don’t have any clear goal as of now other than staying low and surviving until The Ancient Creator’s ‘message’ so I can’t say what they’re after.

If you ever run into them, never disrespect their god. That is all.

Abraham was somewhat disappointed by the lack of information about the Ancient creator. But he was soon glad to hear from Vincent, “I think I found it!”

Abraham hurried over to Vincent filled with anticipation. “Take a look at this ritual. Hehe this book is quite useful. It being so well organized sped up everything quite alot.”

The Ancient Creator’s vow of life and death.

This Vow is quite dangerous you see. It may seem like a fair trade at first but it is not. Especially if you’re making it with a follower of The Ancient Creator. The vow was created by the Ancient Creator and heavily favours his followers.

It might seem normal at first, but it will slowly make you feel utmost loyalty to The Ancient Creator and the one you made the vow with. If he is a follower of the Creator that is.

The only way to break this vow is to take the help of another god. Be careful, If you fight against it too much, it will lead you insane.

A person affected by this vow becomes a devout believer in 2 months on average. But the effects only begin appearing after a month.

“So… this is it right Abraha?” Vincent asked with a grim face. “Yeah.”

Abraham’s expression darkened. Just where was he supposed to take the help of another god? And in such short amount of time at that! The situation looked quite hopeless. “I’ll see you later Vincent.”

Abraham spoke as he began leaving the house. Vincent watched the back of Abraham as he left the house. He got up from his place and spoke out loud “I’ll make sure to look for a way to help you. I promise.”

Abraham turned around with a smile and left. ‘Thanks alot. Vincent.’
