In an alternate reality of Earth. The year 2050. Espers, humans that are capable of using powers that were beyond human's understanding. Although there were no evidence to how or who gave people esper powers, humans have made it more convenient to detect if one could become an esper and have found various ways to develop these powers.
The Esper Association specialises in doing so. The Esper Association is an organisation that houses many strong espers to combat dangers such as demonic beasts with the capabilities of destroying countries. They play such a big part in today's world that they have branches all over the world. Over the years, the organisation and their espers had gained so much recognition for their contributions that they were even worshiped as divine beings by people all over the world. Today, parents do not push their children to be doctors, lawyers or bankers but instead prayed that their children would have the innate abilities of espers!
Zeng Zemin, 16 years old. This was the normal age for children to be tested for esper abilities. The parents of Zeng Zemin brought him to one of the many branches of the association. There were limited slots for these testings. Despite being one of the richer families, Zeng Zemin's parents have spent half their wealth just to reserve a slot. This showed how revered an occupation such as being an esper is. Before this, his parents had prayed to almost 10 different gods for Zeng Zemin to pass the test!
This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
One look around the test site and you could immediately notice many wealthy and successful individuals that hold significant power in the society. Despite being quite rich, Zemin's parents were definitely inferior by a few times compared to the others present.
"Haha is this Zemin I am seeing? Why are you here? Is it to make a fool out of yourself again?" Someone sarcastically sneered.
