Chapter 07.6 - I'm Screwed-06

It was as warm as this.

Like sunbathing under the sun at its intense heat.

Rayne stared at Kurai, her eyes as wet as a puppy in the middle of the rain.

Her cold hear warmed up just looking at his face.

It was this feeling that she’s been longing for, almost eternity.

Like an ice sculpture melting in an intense heat, her heart that remained frozen in her entire life began to have life. From colorless, it began brimming with all different colors.

Oh how long has she been longing for this moment. Even though she talked sweetly with the other side of Kurai which she knew was not the real one, her heart remained loyal to this original one.

Before she knew it, Her body moved on its own and she’s already running to the direction of the man she's longing for.

Her eyes that were a bit normal a few seconds ago, turned into a cute puppy who's been waiting for its owner since ages.

“Kuraii!!”

Rayne ran as she shouted on top of her lungs.

Her heart was beating so fast with every step she took.

And when she finally saw the man she was calling turn his head on her, unexpectedly, he was carrying a stiff smile; eyes as cold as the winter blew.

Rayne's head stopped processing as she came to halt.

Kurai had a stiff smile and cold gaze as she glared at Rayne. Rayne seemed to have something she wanted to say, but couldn't utter a single word because Kurai was mad at her like never before.

She had never seen him this angry before. His eyes were glowing with a dangerous hue, to the point that it's scaring her.

Rayned eyes were focused on his lips as it started to move. And soon, Kurai started to speak in a cold tone.

"Is this all you're doing, Rayne?"

She knew what he was talking about.

But more surprisingly, the question that remained in her heart was…. 'How did he know that she was Rayne?!'

After they were reincarnated into this world, their appearance along with their voice had changed totally different to the one they had in their previous life.

The only ones she recalled knowing her secrets were, The Queen, King, and Urciel.

That's why, she was wondering why he knew she was Rayne more than anything.

Kurai scratched his cheeks as if he had misunderstood something.

"...Sorry, it seems like you're not her. After all, there's no way I can meet her in this world. You two just had the same smell, really sorry for mistaking you for her. My instinct had me thinking you were her when I first heard your voice."

Rayne stared at Kurai with disbelief.

Instinct. Just like in the past where Kurai that she knew fighting style was to rely on instinct, it still scared her to death knowing that he almost figured out her identity by instinctively guessing. Even though the fact that he really did figured out her identity, she couldn't hide the shock on her face as she stared at his departing back.

"Well, I guess it's time to finish what we started."

Kurai went into an offensive stance as his eyes gleamed a dangerous hue.

Urciel shuddered in fear as he recalled those beast eyes that he used to see before.

Of course, even though the man that he knew was standing in front of him now, he had no thought of giving up as he went into a defensive stance.

"Here I go."

Kurai dashes forward and runs as fast as he can.

"Ugh…"

Since his body wasn't a trained one, his body couldn't handle the impact of his unimaginable speed which wasn't even at the level of his previous body capabilities.

Urciel also noticed that his speed was slow and thought to himself,

"With this, won't I actually have the chance of winning?"

It may actually be a cruel way of fighting, but he plans on taking advantage that Kurai's current vessel was truly weak even though it was harbored for years of harsh life in the farm.

While waiting for Kurai to arrive in his sword range, all of the sudden, Kurai stopped running and came to halt. He stood in daze as he stared at Urciel.

"C- Come on." Urciel was getting nervous as Kurai wasn't coming to his sword range. He can't risk going forward and striking since the man in front of him has abilities beyond his imagination.

His vessels may be weak but his instinct and way of fighting must be experienced.

Kurai stared at him with eyes that seemed to be disappointed. He pointed his finger out to Urciel's waist and began lecturing him.

"Your posture is too soft, with that you'll only be exhausting yourself."

'You dare mock my posture!'

Urciel got irritated and started to move. He charged forward while minding his charging momentum in his waist before swinging his sword with all his strength as if he wanted to end his enemy immediately.

Kurai easily dodged to the side and placed his palm on Urciel's back blade as it landed into thin air.

"You must always stay calm. Being agitated will make you lose control of your strength."

"Just what-"

As Urciel was about to finish what he had to say, at that moment, he heard a cold voice beside him.

"If you let your emotions control you, you'll easily be killed on the battlefield. Did you forget my teachings?"

He could feel the cold gaze from the man who taught him how to fight from way back. He could also feel the heaviness in his sword as he started to question himself.

'Why am I even swinging my sword in front of him…'

His hands were shaking under his grip.

At that moment, Kurai suddenly shouted on top of his lungs. It was so loud to the point where his voice could be heard almost in the entire room.

"Didn't I tell you to stick with my teachings!! Why are you spacing out in front of your enemy!!"

Kurai formed a fist and threw a punch into Urciel's stomach.

Bang!

Urciel went flying before bouncing in a wall as his blood almost splattered out everywhere.

His eyes now contain the glare of a tiger.

A smile formed on Kurai's face. He was smiling even though he knew he's in disadvantage.

"That's what I'm talking about. Fight me with the intent to kill me."

He's extremely happy after a long time.
