The Japanese pantheon is freaking awesome.
I repeat: It's freaking awesome.
When I had first arrived in Japan (via teleportation), my [Seeker] was going off like crazy. And, it took me a few days to figure out why.
It appears that Japan was torn between two realms, one of them covered and hidden from the human realm. The barrier foundations were complex and layered with thousands of traps, each of them capable of blasting me to bits if i had not been careful.
However, with a few touches and decoding courtesy of my cosmic magic, I was able to create a human sized hole in the hidden realm for myself without alerting anyone from the "other" side.
Seriously, cosmic magic is op as fuck.
After I had gone in, I was treated to a scenery so beautiful and serene, it almost made me cry.
Hey hey, keyword being: Almost.
The spiritual world of Japan was modeled after the Edo period but with far more durable and complex styles of architecture. Beautiful colored tress sashayed lazily in the wind, accompanied with youkais that flew and ran around the place.
With that being said, I smiled like a kid but not before manipulating my facial and bone structure. As beautiful as it may be, this is still a mythological aspect of Japan so who knows what could happen?
I've already suffered enough due to not preparing beforehand in that godamn forest. Tell me, have you ever been chased by what was the dinosaur equavalent of a chicken? No? Well, I have and it's pretty scary.

Cutting myself out my musings, I walked towards a nearby elderly feline youkai and asked him for directions(in japanese of course).
" Excuse me sir, would you know where the governor is? "
He looked stumped with a heavy expression but one look at my attire cut him off from any doubts he had about me. Who could blame him? I was currently dressed in formal kimono with the most vibrant and luxurious colors. Even more so with the regal and nobel aura I spent months perfecting in the forest.
" Yes yes, go forward and then turn right. A hill should come into view. Climb it up and you'll meet Yasaka sama.", he said.
I thanked him for his kindness and went on towards my goal. The walk around the mythological aspect of japan was relaxing, to day the least.
Especially since I've been spending my life until now, chasing and killing monsters.
The people, or youkai were kind and well-mannered. Damn, Yasaka outdid herself. I really wanna meet her now.
I stopped walking when a golden 'torii' gate entered my view. The torii was weird, due to its colour, since the toriis were generally red...if my meidocre knowledge on japanese culture was any help.
"This has to be a trap. Mediocre as my memory may be, I'm sure the japanese people don't like changing their traditions all of a sudden." I closed one of my eyes and heightened my [Seeker].
As I thought, the gate served as some sort of barrier in which the intruder would be sent to a . . .dimension of sorts. (Can't really see much more unless I want the entire japanese pantheon on my ass.)
Okay, I'm a bit stuck. If I force myself through this, I'd be labelled as an intruder, negotiations would be impossible and I'd miss Yasaka out of my harem-to-be.
Though, there's still a couple of things I can do.
1. Spike my energy level to the utmost to force Yasaka to meet me.
2. Manipulating my cosmic magic to turn myself invinsible and matter-phasable.
3. Just force my way through and deal with the consequences later.
Hmm, the first is the most plausible and item-saving but. . .it's still a risk in if Yasaka would come out or a boss level entity. You can't blame me for being
a worrywart, it's how I was able to survive until now.
Guess I should just take the risk. As great as my cosmic magic is, the sacrifices needed for it is annoying as heck. And, I need to save up mana if I have to suddenly fight against god-level beings.
Again, I'm a pessimist and I'm damn proud of it. Anyway, here we go.
I closed my eyes, and tilted my head up. The familiar sense of tranquility hugged my mind and body as I called upon my power. I felt the tendrils of mana running through my body and interacting with it's fleshy surroundings, making me sigh from relief.
Then, it started.
I heard the skies rumbling with celestial anger, felt the ground quaking with fury, the air shaking with fear and
the waves rising in arrogance.
With my call for power, several presences teleported from their hiding places and approached me. Suddenly, the atmosphere grew cold and hot at the same time. A distinctic feature of youkai magic.
They were here.
I opened my eyes. The myriad of colours, ranging from red to violet entered my view but the most distinctic was the royal gold that flew freely in the air.
I smirked, my canines revealing themselves.
" Hello, Yasaka. "
