Nostalisk

NOSTALISK

A cold harsh world littered with dead bodies and ruins. The sky seems to be endlessly cloudy, covered by sand and dust. The ground either bare sand, dirt, stone, or dead bodies. With little places of vegetation, this world is a brutal and often unforgiving place. Many know this as the world they live in. No one really knows how far it goes as the furthest anyone has recorded on a map was the beginning of the Rings Of Claws, the large mountains that surround all that is known in Nostalisk. For as far as anyone can remember, this world has always been in constant war. The furthest surviving record shows that the war has been going on for two million years, and no one knows when it was made.

There are some records to show that Nostalisk was once totally peaceful land. What happened isn't known but it is known that the ancient people of Nostalisk screwed up and doomed themselves, and the new civilizations of Nostalisk have lasted longer than them. Most people believe the reason for that is war.

Despite being in constant war, the races of Nostalisk have benefitted from it more than they suffered from it. There was little to no corruption, no discrimination, and they were none the closer to the fate the ancients shared.

Nostalisk has a secret only a few know about. Every now and then, a gate would appear and open up to a new world, where the inhabitants of that world will visit and be stuck. They will either adapt and survive in this new harsh world or be killed. The reason why Nostalisk does this is unknown as The Apostles, the great beings of this world, do not say why.

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

In Nostalisk, The Apostles are the greatest force there is. They answer to someone named Notch. While normally, The Apostles are too busy or isolated to care much about mortal affairs, when they do arrive, they are to be avoided. Mighty dragons stand no chance of beating them. Unlike Gods, The Apostles require prayers and sacrifices in order for them to either help or ignore battles. Anyone pretending to be an Apostle of bad mouth Notch will often find themselves at the receiving end of their blades.

To the north of Nostalisk is a cold and snowy forest, filled with mountains. The environment is often tough. To the Northeast, however, the snowy mountains give away to large lakes, rivers, and mountains still. This is where the Senshi and Zhanshi live. To the East is where the Empires and most other races can be found. To the South, it is more peaceful. That is where many of the forests are. This is where the elves and beastmen/demi-human live, though the demi-humans are not as peaceful as their neighbors. To the West is where the Kingdoms live.

Each Faction looks down on those who go on about peace and factions that are peaceful. Factions earn most of their resources and keep up their society through war. A faction may rise one year and fall the next. All factions agree on one form of ranking in their battle system. Officers, Captains, High Captains, Commanders, Generals, High Commanders, and High Generals. Even a common soldier can become a High General. It is a matter of skill and luck. It is also a nice reward for those who live that long to prove themselves and still live at the same time.
