Without any hesitation Taotie led the other two down towards the surface of the Lunar Star. Understanding the need to battle for survival, Wangshu opened up the outermost layer and allowed them entry into the sky above the celestial body. However the surface proper was closed off as Wangshu herself appeared.
Yang Mei gave a nod of acknowledgement to her as he headed off to do battle against Shenni. Though Taotie represented an enormous threat, a being at the Great Principle Chaos Immortal realm. Wangshu wasn’t without her down secrets.
She allowed them entry into the Lunar Star for a reason. Here she was at her strongest, empowered by the most powerful star representing yin. In this environment, her comparatively lower cultivation suddenly wasn’t a disadvantage for her.
She waved her hand and drew upon the immortal might of yin around her. A swirling darkness spun alongside the silver bluish moonlight in her eyes. Around her they manifested as long hearted long legged furry creature.
“A mere Great Unity Golden Immortal dares to confront us alone? You really do look down upon me,” Taotie chuckled.
“Forgetting about me Taotie?” Lu Ya cried out far above Taotie. He had a smirk on even as he was still in an injured state.
Now that Yang Mei was keeping Shenni busy he’d decided to deal with Taotie once and for all. Despite both being Chaos Immortals there was a gargantuan difference between Taotie and Shenni.
“Junior we’ve never met but fellow daoist Yang Mei has mentioned you before,” he said towards Wangshu. “Allow me alleviate this trash from your shoulders.”
Wangshu made an angry noise. It was all Lu Ya’s fault they were attacked in the first place. What’s more she still had a guest in the Lunar Star. However she could not turn down his aid.
Her bravado before Taotie was very much a front. In truth she had no idea wether her control over the Lunar Star would allow her to fight all three individuals at once or not. Especially since all three were old experienced godfiends who predated the Primitivie World.
But if it were only Earthly Sky and Shen Feng who were both still Great Unity Golden Immortals, things would be a lot easier. Yet she still dared not be callous. Compared to the two, she was still very young and inexperienced.
“I’ll trust you,” she said opening up the Lunar Star. Lu Ya wasted no time to assault Taotie.
The godfiend was both vicious and enthusiastically burned away at Taotie. It was to an extent that Taotie grew uncomfortable at being pushed into a corner like this.
“When did you ave time to accumulate so much? You lot were always sent out on missions!”
Without much of a choice Taotie revealed his true form. His chubby human form collapsed as a gargantuan creature, even larger then the giant Shenni grew into formed. His flesh was a sickening greenish grey colour with a build similar to that of a dog.
His limbs were long and lanky and his face was easily two thirds the size of his body. Most of his head was taken up by a massive mouth with disgusting looking teeth seemingly emanating an endless hunger. Taotie’s face lacked any semblance of eyes, only a set of nostrils. Instead his eyes were located on his shoulders.
Lu Ya frowned as Taotie’s power increased exponentially. With this, Taotie swallowed Lu Ya’s solar flames with ease. Clearly the former godfiend powerhouse had underestimated Taotie.
But as the two godfiends were struggling against each other, Wangshu fought Earthly Sky daoist and Shen Feng with all her might.
Despite possessing great raw power that in this environment closed in on the Chaos Immortal level. Despite having been given pointers by Yang Mei in how to utilize her strength, Wangshu found herself hard pressed to contend against the two godfiends.
Earthly Sky might not be a well off godfiend but he was still once among the three thousand top tier powerhouses. In this life he wielded his ruler. This ruler was long yet simple in design. It looked archaic yet possessed a grand power designed to measure distances of both heaven and earth.
Each swing of this ruler beat back Wangshu’s spells and forced her to dodge away to save her life. She formed crystalline barriers and fried off silver bolts of yin energy yet they were unable to fully counter the power of Earthly Sky’s treasure.
With it in hand, Earthly Sky’s combat prowess felt close to that of a suppressed Yang Mei that Wangshu had seen in the past. Of course the two were incomparable to each other in their true abilities but Earthly Sky’s powerful assault was still tough to withstand.
Shen Feng’s presence did not help either. He was much much much weaker then Earthly Sky in pure ability. But he acted as a harasser and constantly tore away at the Lunar Star with his divine wind techniques.
“This girl is not half bad. If she were part of us in the Chaos Sea, I can definitely see her surpassing many of us old fogies,” Earthly Sky praised while he fought. While it was clear he took Wangshu seriously, she still felt irritated how lighthearted he sounded.
“You attack my domain and have the nerve to joke?” She spat out a spiral of light from her mouth. They twisted through the air in circles and aimed for Earthly Sky’s forehead.
Simultaneously, the Lunar Star supported Wangshu. By her commands, the air of the star closed around Earthly Sky manifesting into rays of light reminiscent of needles. This occupied the godfiend’s Ruler of Sky and Earth.
“Help out, my defense aren’t as good as your disruptions.”
“You owe me!”
With a simple exchange, Shen Feng entered the fight once again. His feet transformed into drills made of twin hurricanes. He kicked towards Wangshu not only disrupting her attack but penetrating through it for the goddess herself.
Wangshu frowned. She lifted her hand and grabbed hold of Shen Feng’s foot.
“What?”
Despite suffering from the Ancestor of Divine Wind’s hurricane strike, despite skin was being torn of bit by bit, even despite her gritting her teeth at the damage. She raised her free hand for a palm strike.
“Guh!”
Shen Feng was sent hurling out into the atmosphere. A sword condensed from moonlight shot towards him immediately with the desire to kill. Earthly Sky immediately moved in its way and swung down.

His ruler rapidly glowed and the formation of an archaic heaven and earth formed within its metallic surface. It was as if a dimension consisting of a living world had spawned for the purpose of a single strike
CLANG!
The new world exploded as it met the moon sword. The sky of the Lunar Star lit ablaze sending backlash to both sides.
‘In the end my cultivation is still too low. I still cannot utilize as much power as I want,’ Wangshu thought bitterly. She looked at her exposed hand with a trail of blood leaking from her mouth. Except the trail of blood did not resemble the red blood of living beings. Rather it appeared to be sap with the colour of amber.
Her damaged had had also partially reverted to its true form. Uneven wood textures covered the limb making look like a particularly twisted branch of a tree. Her fingers were instead many sticks wrapping around each other to form claws. There were even leaves jutting out of her.
Earthly Sky wiped away the smoke with a swing of his ruler. He and Shen Feng did not look worse for ware. Their clothing was ruffled and Shen Feng appeared to be particularly embarrassed.
“Heh, stick to scavenging and leave the fighting for real experts,” Earthly Sky couldn’t help but mock the man.
“Hmph! Who asked for help in the first place?”
The two were broken out of their banter when they noticed the reality around them shift. The atmosphere of the Lunar Star shifted and the blue filter was gone. Instead the outer atmosphere transformed into something which resembled the Starry Skies itself. It was as if the two stood admits the archaic view of the Milky Way.
“So you’re not just a moon innate god? And here I thought you were an inheritor of the Moon Demon God as well.” Earthly Sky scratched his chin as he narrowed his eyes examining Wangshu. His skin and bones turned a sandy colour and a projection of a blue sky emerged from his body.
“How old is she? Her attainment is shockingly high. Just a few more years and we’d be looking at a Great Principle Chaos Immortal,” Shen Feng appraised. His body writhed as a windy manifestation overtook his form.
Wangshu had also shed her human form Dao body. Now what stood in her place was a six armed tree woman whose features were all made of wood. She resembled a tree that’s been misshapen into the shape of a feminine figure.
“I want you both gone from here!” She roared erupting with her full power. Her hair of stem and leaves glowed with all the colours of countless stars. Her body emitted rays of brilliant light shooting out like lasers.
The stars of the Milky Way condensed with these bands of light into a fist punching towards the two godfiends.
“You truly are talented junior,” Earthly Sky said. “But we haven’t survived for so many yuanhuis for no reason. Too bad but his majesty has ordered your death.”
…
“Eyes on me!”
Yang Mei released growl of anger at Shenni’s words. He’s been locked in place, locked in combat against his will. His sort of disciple was strong but she was up against the combined might of two experienced Great Unity Golden Immortals who were former Primal Zenith Chaos Immortals.
Even new unstable Chaos Immortals may not necessarily survive their combined assault. But Yang Mei could not help her.
His branches swayed within the ferocious battle against Shenni. Yang Mei stood crossed legged in space with his hands positioned into hand seals. Above his head an enormous willow tree had manifested.
It was hollow beyond its outward appearance and possessed the power of many universes within. Inside of its trunk was an entirely separate space time with its own governing laws as dictated by Yang Mei. It easily dwarfed the giant Shenni.
Yet the two were near evenly matched.
“Yang Mei! How dare you protect a spawn of that filth! Do you have no pride? Do you feel nothing at all?”
Yang Mei’s outer appearance was the picturesque of tranquility. He was like a depiction of a peaceful buddha who had removed himself from worldly affairs. A being of serenity who’d already found and settled into his path.
It was the east opposite of the screaming and raving Shenni. Shenni who more resembled a mad beast of zealous hatred and wrathful intent. A being who’s path had been consumed by rage.
“Fellow daoist your path is hideous,” Yang Mei could not help but mock.
His willow tree began emitting lights at specific spit upon its branches. These spots were fruits, seeds contained within a hard spiky shell with an air of mystery to it.
Shenni roared unintelligibly. His body bursted into raving red energy which charged out of him like a bull. The creature was frothing at the mouth and possessed a deep colour more akin to blood.
Yang Mei brought his hands together and twisted them in a clockwise motion. Before him mysterious energy swirled into a singularity point from which a black hole emerged. It prevented the bull from smashing into its creator nor the willow tree floating above him.
It sucked in Shenni’s attack but started groaning immediately afterwards. Yang Mei frowned as his black hole began collapsing in on itself. Shenni’s power was so great that it destabilized Yang Mei’s manifestation.
But it brought enough time for the seeds of the willow tree to fully form. They were released from the tree’s branches and fell before Yang Mei like floating stars.
“Go,” he pointed at Shenni.
The seeds were launched like meteorites. They slammed across Shenni’s body causing him to roar in pain. Each seed of the willow tree were like universes in and of themselves. Hence Yang Mei named this attack ‘Universal Seeds’.
As such numerous big bangs impacted Shenni’s flesh damaging his extraordinary vitality.
“You make a mistake coming here!” Yang Mei said. “You should’ve stuck to your corner and obediently behave like the dog you are. Conquer your lands, replace Chaos Demon Ape for all I care. But you…”
“YAAAAH!”
Shenni’s roar came suddenly. It was so loud that even Yang Mei felt his head splitting at the noise. But the noise contained another message. Rage, pure rage. Raw anger permitted every bit of sound coming from Shenni’s throat.
“DO NOT SPEAK HIS NAME TRAITOR!”
Shenni lunged pass the universal bombardment. His eyes were already bloodshot and there was no sign of a dignified emperor. It wasn’t even a hungry beast or a majestic one. Yang Mei only found the look of a mouth frothing madman in Shenni.
Sensing danger, Yang Mei retreated behind the willow tree. Shenni slammed head first into the construct but he didn’t care. He rubbed its branches and bit into its trunk sideways.
CRUNCH!
Splinters fell from the penetration of Shenni’s teeth. Barks of wood easily caved while Yang Mei watched with concern.
The willow tree would not stay idle. Its branches grew and its long dangling leaves curled up into balls. The tree appeared to have taken life of its own with each large branch resembling raised fists.
“You’ve clearly gone insane,” Yang Mei sighed. “All this harping on Pangu or whatever. Honestly you should be grateful you even found a way to survive into this new world. You’ve even found a new Dao from the looks of things like me and surpassed your old self. This ha…”
“Silence! Shut up! Shut your filthy mouth! You dare insinuate I should be grateful?”
Yang Mei’s tree punched Shenni’s exposed body with a furious barrage. It was the same style of attack Shenni had done to the Solar Star moments earlier.
“GRRRRGH!
“YAAAAAH!
The willow tree’s trunk splintered even more as crack emerged along its surface. Its real image began dimming as it lost much of its colour.
“You may’ve found a few Dao. Maybe even stronger then your old Dao. But you’re still gonna die for what you did!” Shenni growled.
“For what exactly? For taking advantage of a bad situation? For finding new success? Come now Shenni, you’ve clearly been consumed by rage. Are you even rational anymore.”
The willow tree finally broke. From Shenni’s teeth, a dark blood red colour seeped into the trunk. It recoloured the fading construct into a weak red tree corrupting it until its lost all its strength. With one final push, Shenni tore it to pieces and the tree disintegrated into red particles.
Despite this, Yang Mei didn’t panic. He moved on to other techniques to fight Shenni with. Beast emperor or not, Yang Mei was determined to not allow what he thought was a would be conquered with a vendetta against Pangu from doing any further harm.
