It was true what they said. Life really did flash before your eyes. I felt events repeat themselves and then stop. I woke up groggily noticing once again to my dismay that I was not in my room. At least this time I hadn't awoken to crippling pain. Small blessings.
But how was I fine? I'd been stabbed. At least I thought I had. Hell I was pretty sure that I had died! What the fuck was going on. That's when I noticed the new addition to the room. A ball of translucent darkness that I could barely make out. Yeah I was having none of that and immediately backed up as far as I could.
Once my breath wasn't trying its hardest to escape my body and I'd calmed down, and took stock of my situation. Noticing some things that were definitely off. For example the walls weren't nearly as cracked as they had been. The large stick I'd used was also in the location I had found it in. Seriously what the hell was going on?
I opened up my menu and noticed that same beginning message. "Uh, is the system broken?" I asked, feeling a little worried. Something really weird was going on here.
Then I heard the howling, making me realize I was right in front of the window. I quickly tried to flee as the memory of what lurked outside filled my terrified and confused brain.
Too late. The beast charged its head once again, getting stuck in the window as its body bashed and struggled with enough force to begin leaving cracks on the old decayed walls. This time however it's jaws had latched firmly onto my shoulder. It's large fangs tearing into my flesh.
Screaming in pain and shock I grasped around frantically with my good arm for something I could use. before finding a fairly sharp stick on the dusty floors. Without hesitation I plunged the thing into where I assumed the creature's eye was. Thick liquid poured down my modest T-shirt. I didn't stop though and kept pushing the stick further and further despite my uncomfortable vantage point. Eventually the creature went limp as it died.
My relief was short lived however as the creature's fangs were still stuck in my shoulder. I was still stuck! But I'd killed the damn monster. It's not fair! It's not fair dammit! I sobbed as I slumped into the wall feeling the blood from where the beast had effectively trapped me. "I don't want to die." I said softly to whatever God would listen. "Please?" In the silence nothing dained to answer.
It felt like hours and may have even been days to be honest. After the first hour I'd gone delirious with the blood loss. I couldn't tell what time it even was anymore, truthfully I stopped caring. All I knew was the pain. Eventually though something moved at the corner of my vision. It approached. A small green, almost human looking creature. It had fur on its legs while its ears looked like cat ears.
"H-e-llp" I begged. Only for it to charge me with a knife hidden behind its back plunging it straight into my throat. I'd like to say I felt betrayed. But I was just relieved. Relieved I wouldn't die from blood loss and pain. Relieved that this nightmare was over. Surely I'd wake up at home, I'd call my parents and eat some ice cream. Yeah that sounded nice. Smiling, I felt the world go dark.
Then I woke up. Not to my pink silk sheets and a comfortable bed. Not to my posters' exalting icon for hire and sabaton. No, I woke up to this goddamn world. Alive! I'd died. I know I died. But I lived, I would always live. [Undying warrior] that was my class. I understand now! I can't die. I will never be able to die.

I laughed, sobbed, cried, and screamed with pain, furry, relief, and dred. I'd just gained what people had sought for centuries. Immortality! Yet I tasted death. Felt how painful it can be and knew it would not be my last time.
I sat there for an hour or maybe it was only ten minutes. My since of time had gone with my desire not to cry. So I sat crying, hoping I'd wake up from this nightmare. I didn't want to get up. I just wanted to stay here and never have to face the world again.
But this world would not be so kind. If things would repeat then I would die another horrible death if I did nothing. No quietly dying of starvation on repeat. It would be claws and teeth and blood.
Not only that. I has always had I fire in my belly. My mom had joked that the reason I like vodka so much was because it contemplated that same fire. I smiled at that joke, not really sure why but it gave me motivation.
I was going to leave, to win against this nightmare until it gad enough of me. It was hard, difficult even to muster up the courage to get up.
But I would win. So I got up and trudged over to that stick I'd used as a bludgeon. A third try out of what I could only assume to be an infinite number.
Well third times the charm. Grabbing the stick I waited for what the system had called a reider. Just as it had twice before the stupid beast, charged, got stuck in a window and died by my wood wielding hands.
For slaying the rieder single handedly you have gained one level in the [Undying Warrior] class.
Skill obtained. [Void strike].
Rewarding 3 physical points, 2 mental points, 1 Metaphysical point
I smirked at the screen. Though I was confused at the change. The stat points I had gained were significantly better. The only conclusion I could figure was that some classes offred better stat gains then others. Interesting and too bad I had nobody to talk this shit. I decided to use the points immediately this time. I put 2 points in strength and memory, 1 in Agility, and the last point in Luck.
With that out of the way. I made my way towards were I had remembered the door being. This time watching my back of course. Before the thing that I had slit my throat twice could react I pounced. My strike hit it into one of the broken dusty bookcases. The thing hadn't even been hiding! Just standing there. Still I gave it the reider treatment and bashed it over and over again until it died. No points were awarded this time. Which was honestly a bit of a shame.
Then opening the door quietly I stepped out into the open. Were 3 more of the small basterds waited. "Peace?" I asked hopefully. Somehow the daggers in my gut that followed did not fill me with confidence towards a diplomatic solution.
"Well, fuck you to!" I said as I died. Seriously this place was a death trap. Hadn't the system said it had summoned everyone to a safe place? Cause if this was what the system considered to be safe. Well I actually shuddered at what the system considered to be dangerous.
Out of curiosity I opened up the screen to check out my new skill. [Void strike] sounded pretty cool to be honest.
[Void Strike] Defences are nothing to your power and might.
Channeling the energy of the realm of voids. You charge your attack creating a space were your enemies defenses don't exist to you.
May only be used 3 times per day.
"Huh. Not bad." I said with a smile. At least something was going my way. Still it did suck that I could only use the skill 3 times. But it was a very good skill... I think? Probably.
"Time to get back to the grind" I said with a grumble as the rieder howled outside.
