Bai Yao is a cultivator who escapes through a portal as he flees mortal danger only to be remade as an adventurer on a dungeon world. In his original world, there is cultivation and mana manipulation, without any classes or levels, and no screens of data. However, the portal world alters his body and mind to enable him to function in worlds that do have classes, levels, attributes, skills, spells, and character screens.
