What if I told you death wasn`t the end but the start of something new....at least for those with the will to run from destiny.
I remember that in my former life I was a successful police officer, until the day I was shot protecting a gang member from his 'friends' I drifted in the endless dark until I saw a great light a circle rotating endlessly as I passed through I was met with a galaxy of stars and a great river running in so many different directions it was at the time dizzying to even comprehend, there were many different souls like mine following along the side of the river usually with someone next to them a guide if you will.
I stepped up to an ever increasing queue and met my guide he was an old man that dressed....well....like a monk of ancient china, he pulled out a scroll from within his robe and looked me up and down before retuning it to his robe he then smiled.
"How very rare to see someone who managed to shift karma in such a way, are you aware of what you did?"
I looked at him unsure of what he meant noticing this he carried on
"You saved a young man whose karma was set to evil and through an act of kindness rewrote his fate, in his scroll of destiny he was set to die and be reincarnated to a harsh life in the ever shifting sands of a mortal realm known for its brutality, instead after you saved his life he was inspired and will go on to become a police officer like you and the circle of kindness will result in more good karma flowing in from the many people he will save truly a miracle as such even now your good karma is increasing thus resulting in your fate being to reincarnate into the heavens as a heavenly spirit"

As a spirit I tried to respond and realised I couldn`t the old man noticing this helped me with a wave of his hand I regained the power of speech
"Where is this?, whats going on?"
His smile deepened "This my child is the river of reincarnation, a place where souls are born anew now do you have any more questions if not then lets get to your new life"
I hesitated then he said born anew "Will I still remember my past life"
His smile dipped ever so slightly as though his former question was more a statement than a question I came to realise later that it was for what can an ant ask a tiger? Even still as luck would have it my guide was more generous than others
"No soul is allowed to keep their memories upon being reborn in some cases when one reaches a certain level of insight they will be allowed access to the scrolls of destiny, until such time however the scroll of each soul must be erased so decisions from a past life wont affect the future of the new now enough questions we mu....."
He looked above me with shock deep within his eyes turning around I saw what I can only describe as the most terrifying of creatures a dragon it roared and with that thunder descended striking many of the souls dispersing them to nothing my guide then rose up and shot forward like a star seeing this my only thought was to run as these impossible things were happening around me I ran and ran until I tripped in the river its current dragged me far away from the great battle between what I thought of then as angry demons and gods.....I drifted and drifted and passed through another rotating circle like the first and it was here that my tale of rebirth truly begins.
