Chapter 6 A New Perspective

Gumir opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling. It had never been that much clear before now. He could see the uneven texture finish that ran across the ceiling. He looked at it for a moment before he roused himself from his wonder.

Waking up he felt different. Not only throughout his limbs but also across his whole body generally. Let alone that his mind was clearer. He did not know how but now he had a lot of spare thoughts going on in his head. He looked around and settled at looking at his feet and torso area.

“Gasp!”

Shocked he stood up on his feet quickly almost stumbling over, looking over himself entirely and he really could not believe what he was seeing. This was utterly unexpected. His muscles were not as big and fleshy as the ones on the brutes but he could feel boundless energy within them.

“Is this what its like being a brute?” He asked himself aloud.

His voice too, it was changed, a tad bit deeper.

“Just, what was in that Pond?” He could not help but ask himself.

He had obviously noticed that he was a bit taller and now he could not only smell mana inconsistently but he could feel it in the air. He felt something hug around him and that he thought was mana, after all his master had mentioned this in one of the long boring lessons he never bothered to pay attention.

“Wait?!!”

“How did I remember that? It came to me just as easy as I think about eating when I am hungry.”

He was stupified.

Had he become smarter all of a sudden?

Just what was that solution in the pond. What he had known from the entire process taking place is that the solution had burrowed into his body throughout the entire process and it was not until it started burrowing into his mind that he fell unconscious.

He had to find his master, his curiousity and anticipation to talk with his master about what had happened was immense. He felt a thirst for answers. He also felt a thirst to exercise all the energy lingering in his body.

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

“Master! Master!...” Gumir called out as he made his way into the general quarters in search of his master.

“Quiet down, runt. What is it you want?”

“Master, see. Can’t you see? I am a brute now.” Gumir said joy evident in his words.

Gumir laughed as he continued showcasing his perfect body to his master.

Zalthus could not help but sigh at the naivety of the young gob. He understood the goblin’s joy. But...

“A brute, he said” Zalthus thought to himself as he shaked his head pitifully.

Reducing his master’s work to such a lowly term and comparing it to an imperfect lump of muscle. Only a fool like his disciple would dare.

“Okay, okay, it seems the pond worked well seeing as you are alive and kicking. Any pain or discomfort?”

“Hmm!!” Gumir paused, trying to think of whether he felt anything that caused him worry, he found none.

“No, I can feel boundless energy though and I'd like to test it out.” he said grinning and laughing in a sly manner.

Zalthus could see through the young goblin’s intentions.

“Come with me. We will go hunting. After all it's been several days since you passed out and there is no more food for you to eat.”

“Several days? I thought I slept overnight.”

“It’s been 3 days runt. You have been sleeping like a log since then.”

Gumir was shocked. He could not make sense of it. Still, he did not feel hunger or weak in any sense. Instead, all this energy was running rampant all over his body. Well, he would worry about this later, for now he needed to put his body to practice. Hunting was just the proper thing to do.

They made their way out of the crypt. The forest outside would serve as the perfect training ground. Gumir was ecstatic. Following behind his master the crypt walls that once seemed more like an enigma were now clearer and he could connect the various puzzle like patterns that were going on about the ceiling and walls. Although he understood none of it, it was really fascinating.

“I wonder who the great master was, master,” Gumir found himself uttering.

For the first time ever, he could feel a slight chuckle escape his master’s mouth.

“Not one the likes of you could even begin to fathom.”

Gumir’s evaluation of the great master once more increased in his heart. He felt some type of way whenever he thought about the great master. Whatever the feeling was he was not sure but he was curious about it.

He suddenly found himself thinking about the elites of the Bleak Fang. In terms of power who could even match his master in strength let alone his grandmaster.

‘Wait,’ Gumir caught himself in his thoughts. The Bleak Fang tribe, he had to figure out a way back, he had almost forgotten especially with all the joy he was experiencing after his new discovery about his newfound power and looks. The biggest challenge was to know how to escape from his master now. He had to do it regardless. He had to find a way back. He had an evil smile plastered across his face confident that his master would not be able to see it.

Zalthus on the other hand smiled to himself as he walked forward in front of the goblin. It seemed he would have to teach the young goblin what fear was once more.
