Chapter 1: Two bored Individuals

Under the full moon like a silver cup placed on clear ice, an interesting thing is about to happen inside an old house on the north side of a remote village far away from Tokyo.

"Well then."

A grandma stood up after giving her finishing touch to her seven days' worth of work. Her name is Keiichi Shigure, a common over 80 years old retiree living off her pension.

*Crack!*

"Ah! my old back!"

Following the sound, she suddenly felt pain similar to a malicious pinch is running through her poor old back.

Seem her own body is telling an old woman that she stood up too suddenly.

It was one of the bad perks of getting old. The time never forgives anything or anyone. Just like cogs and springs getting eaten away by the rust and dust, no matter how healthy or strong one is in the past, it will get weaker and fragile as time goes on.

While rubbing her back, Shigure recalls a life-threatening event it happened last week. As usual in the kid's playground, she was taking her favorite midday nap after her daily session. While in mid of her rest, she suddenly woke up feeling someone suffocating her.

Panicked, Shigure reached her hand and tried to grab the attacker only to seize the soft hand of 3 years old child holding the ends of a plastic bag placed over her head for fun.

She almost got choked to death by three years old child.

That event made Shigure realize there was more than just some truth in the jokes of her generation about being beaten by a toddler.

Shigure understands that she is over 80 years old but that one must be one of the worst ends she wants, behind being starved to death by a simple broken ankle.

So that event gave old grandma a ridiculous idea.

Why spend the last bit of her life waiting for my end when she could do something more interesting or exciting.

But then, after going through exciting and dangerous things. Shigure realized in the first place she really doesn't like something exciting or thrilling.

She loves this peaceful life, spending days following her little hobby and living off her pensions.

But still, she wanted to do something bad or dangerous just once. So after some deep research, she found her answer and decided to do it.

Now right in front of her, there is a large magical circle that is drawn by her. She made it by following instructions from a thick book she found in an old library.

The killing or breaking the law felt a little too much for her taste, so Shigure decided to try to summon demons or the devil because there is no law against practicing religious things if one deems not dangerous, she thought.

Then while doing all those preparations, she found it was more entertaining than she imagined. Who knows maybe, she would really end up summoning a real wish fulling demon.

Seeing magic circle in front of her is now glowing in faint silver light for some reason.

'Did I mix some phosphorus by any chance or supposed to glow that way?' Shigure thought.

With doubt, Shigure went back to check and found no phosphorus label on the material boxes. Which she prepared just in case of her old head forgot the process midway.

"Seems it supposed to glow that way..."

Finding no mistake, Shigure went back to her task. Carefully stepping into the magic circle without touching anything, she placed a golden chalice with a silver interior about the size of a grown man's fist.

The chalice is full of pure white pearl-like grains of rice that came from the first batch of harvest. Each piece of rice is meticulously collected by Shigure by following the required length and size recorded on the book.

"Doesn't demon want more of flesh or blood? Isn't it rice is more of a God's thing? Also, all those speech and materials..."

Shigure scratched her head in confusion, but who she is for questioning something written in this mysterious book.

Standing in front of the magic circle, Shigure begins to read out the chant following words on the book.

"Accept my offering of the first chosen of the most fertile womb and the pure essence that I preserved until now. Please, hear my word and come..."

"Bring yourself forth, demon! My body belongs to you."

"May our souls bound together in an ever-lasting pact!"

"Grant me the power of your desire, and I will become your companion until the end of my time..."

Up till now, Shigure was able to recite the entire paragraph without any problem. Now the only thing left was to speak out the name of the demon she wanted to make a pact from the name list.

Of course, she wanted to summon one of the weakest demons of strength that was almost no different than imp to grant the strength of her younger days, nothing more, nothing less.

One could see from her terms of pact says as until the end of her time. It means at most is no more than five years as she didn't ask for a young body or reversing her age, only bit strength until she dies from her natural old age, and their pact ends when she dies.

"Come to me! Oh, all-powerful Aza...k? Zak'h...? Thoth?!"

"Damn, my bad eyes sight and those old glasses don't help much with those absurd demon names. I need to clean it with tissue."

Said Shigure wiped clean her old thick glasses and tried to read out the name of the demon from the list without realizing things had already gone weird direction at that moment.

Who would even say old glasses or absurd names or tissue in the middle of a ritual to call ancient demons?

In the first place, those ancient demons would even recognize those words like tissue or glasses?

"Ohh, that's it! Az'thoth!"

In the end, with a simple reading mistake. Shigure called the wrong one, ended up failing anyway.

The grains of rice in the chalice slowly turn into liquid and begin to boil while the magic circle's light grows even brighter eventually, enveloping the whole room in silver light blinding Shigure.

"What! This kind of thing doesn't written in the book. Did it fail?"

Shigure thought while blocking her eyes until the light subdues. When the light finally fades, Shigure notices the figure standing in the middle of the circle.

"I could say I am impressed that how much one can botcher such a simple ritual."

It was a tall, young, and muscular man with a body seems like made of the night sky. He has beautiful bright eyes shaped like a moving galaxy and pitch-black hair. Due to his fully naked body, Shigure could see his very gifted manhood.

"Oh, my! Little boy, I am very sorry for not preparing clothes. "

Said Shigure tried to go and get something to wear for a boy before he catches a cold.

"Hold it, mortal. Who are you calling a boy?! Also, put that cover away!"

"I am sorry for summoning you. What I am trying to summon was a demon of strength to get some power to move this old bone of mine."

After comparing the image in the book, Shigure quickly realized she summoned the wrong young demon in his bad moment.

"It is your luck mortal, cause, unlike that lesser imp. I am what you mortals call an ancient forgotten god or a primordial demon. I rule over all emotions, creation, and fertility."

Said man walked out from the circle and showings Shirgure a small sun hovering above his palm as proof of his omnipotent power.

"Wow..."

That was only Shigure could only describe things she seeing right now.

"My power knows no bounds. I can grant you anything you wish and more..."

Then the man spoke.

"For giving me such entertainment being able to summon me with your meaner ability and new ways of botcher the ritual. Mortal, I will grant one of your wishes as a reward."

Faced with such a remark, Shigure found herself in a very difficult situation. She only wanted some strength to make her move like she used to be in the past, but now she understood that anything granted by such being wound is too much for someone like her to handle.

Seeing conflict in Shigure's eyes the man pulls his hand and gave a mysterious smile.

"Seems you are wiser or simple than I thought, then how about living a second life in another world and joining a little event as my proxy."

"Game?" Hearing more tame words and a game, Shigure got curious.

"Yes, it is a simple event made by some idiots that occurs from time to time, and it's about to start in a few hours later."

"Then why you don't just join ?"

Shigure asked why does he need her to join the game?

"Well, let me ask you, one simple thing. Will you play the game while having all cheat available and open in front of you and expect not to use it not even a single time ?"

"No," Shigure gave her honest answers as she herself would also use it if she were in a similar situation.

"My situation is like that. That is why I want you to act as my proxy. If I do it myself, I can't stop my urge to cheat when things go bad."

"Okay, then what should I do in that event?"

It was the final thing Shigure wanted to know before where she decided to accept the deal or not.

"Nothing."

"Nothing?"

"Heh, yes. You just do what you want, just like what you do in this world. I just wanted you to become an unknown variable in their little game."

"Deal?"

"Deal." Hearing the final part, Shigure decided to take the offer.

With a word, old lady and ancient god disappeared from this world.
