A feeling of hatred. A feeling of sadness. A feeling of disgust. The paradoxically thousand-year-old girl travel through space without thinking. Her face wore a very bland expression that moved anyone who saw her. Deep in her mind, she was seething. An eruption of new feelings that she would have gladly done without. She wondered if all these unfortunate events could not have been avoided by doing certain actions in another way or by simply not doing those actions. So many questions swirling through her head without even giving time to get answers.
Benoit who had fainted in nature as a hero, a sacrifice which caused great pain to the young girl. Frederica, a farmer engineer who should never have had her gift of life stolen in such a discreet, dark and impromptu way. At least she thought, she didn't really know if her death was unexpected or clearly premeditated, and she hadn't even thought about it on the spur of the moment. Angela may have been over a thousand years of existence, but she remained deep inside her a little girl discovering life and the mysteries that surround her. She could more or less endure being insulted, beaten or separated from what she cared for a certain period of time. However, she still did not manage to fight in her strong interior of the extreme things like the definitive separation of the things to which she was attached, or quite simply death.
As a young girl coldly thrown into a hostile and incredibly vast world, so many malfeasance and novelties overwhelmed her quite brutally. She could, in a heroic perspective, defeat and even kill her opponents if she found them to be truly evil and threatening life in the universe, but having to kill loved ones or innocent ones see endure and live the death of others was unbearable. As paradoxical as it may seem, she possessed all the knowledge acquired on Earth, which did not prevent her from having a relatively childish maturity and hindsight. This same knowledge even became almost obsolete as she traveled, whether it was the overtaking of the Absolute Zero, a special fire fueled despite the lack of oxygen or the proven existence of a parallel universe, it did not reassure her about how little she knew, and that lack of knowledge coupled with everything that was currently going on was losing her.
In the far reaches of space loomed a sad little star, endowed with a wound to the heart that even its incredible gift of regeneration could not heal. She then decide to end it all by heading without a hint of hesitation to the next Destiny Boss, similar in shape to a spark-shaped pictogram. The domain of this Destiny Boss was ruled by lightning electric currents on either side of yet another solar system, this time devastated as that of Infamous had been in the last part of his last fight. After entering this destroyed space realm, the boss came to Angela as expected. Or rather, she.
<< A newcomer ! Interesting ! I, Lighta Spark, challenge y... >>
Without having been able to finish her sentence, the nammed Lighta Spark who had appeared in front of Angela had just been pierce by a devastating lightning bolt.
<< That... What was that ? >>
The luscious electric woman was about to challenge the incarnation of the Tacos, but had been attacked with unparalleled speed even before launching the offensive. She was surprised, it was the first time that she had been taken like that. What had suddenly stabbed him in the chest was like a sharp spear, the gaping hole in the place of Lighta Spark's breasts was clean, circular, precise. Instantly reforming and regenerating what had been destroyed to her, she searched for what had caused her so much damage. She couldn't find any objects or other projectiles and attack residue in the air coming from Angela. And for good reason, what had attacked her did not come from Angela, or at least not directly. To her astonishment, Lighta Spark had been pierce by her own thunder bolts, the same that littered her electric domain.
<< M-My lightning bolts ? How ?! >>
In the midst of a supreme electromagnetic field, the lost little girl remained motionless, so to speak static.
<< You are strong huhu ! So I will be serio... >>
Prepared, Lighta Spark narrowly dodged another lightning bolt, aimed at her head.
<< That was right ! >>
Angela had deflected one of the surrounding lightning bolts again. She was alone, expressionless, in the middle of it all. Lighta Spark was fighting against something new. Previous Destiny Bosses had admittedly also faced an enemy of a new kind in Angela's presence, but this was the first time that one of the currently encountered Destiny Bosses had faced such an elusive foe. So lost. So tormented. So saddened. Angela's joyful and heroic facial expression had died away along with this awareness. A awareness that life, worlds, what surrounds her, is not as sweet and good as she thought. She knew that entities could be more or less malicious, but the cruelty of life, she had never really experienced. The loss of dear friends had unlocked like a cog in her, a cog in spiritual sections like maturity, understanding, emotions.
For Lighta Spark, each attack sent against Angela resulted in reflected lightning bolt. She decided after a while, quite late, to completely withdraw the electrical energy surrounding them. All her lightning bolts, that thunder, was like a shield for Lighta Spark. It was already aberrant that Angela could have walked through it so casually, but being manhandled by her own protection afterwards was even more so. So it was under these circumstances that one of Lighta Spark's main strengths was forcibly desactivated. But the latter was not to be outdone, it was after all a Destiny Boss.
<< I wanted to be sweet, to defeat you gently so that you leave quickly, but you don't give me choice. >>
Freed from her protection, she amplified her own abilities so that Angela could not send anything back. Her body, usually orange-yellow, turned a attenuated ruby red. Lightning bolts flashed in numbers from her body, more than before. Even her long, flaming hair, which would have nothing to envy the tail of the most charming comet, had changed into a true shooting star with the most magnificent of shards.
<< You will experience the fury of Lighta Spark, the most dangerous spark of light in the universe ! >>
<< The universe ? >>
Lighta Spark then charged two colossal balls of energy into each of her hands and converged them into a single devastating beam, which she fervently hurled at Angela.
<< Antares Destroyer ! >>
This ray was worth like 10 Unchained Star of the 100 Murderous Heavens from Infamous. It was not the same level, parrying such an attack would be almost impossible without leaving some feathers there.
<< This ray is unmissable, you will not be able to deviate it ! Show me what you're capable of, little girl ! >>
<< What I'm capable of ... >>
Arrived at its destination, the ray exploded the equivalent of 10 solar systems.
<< Have I had her ? >>
Unfortunately for Lighta Spark, no victim was to be deplored, at least not Angela. The latter was instead just behind her, still expressionless.
<< What... >>
Before even letting her speak, Angela grabbed her roughly by the throat. Angela was no more than 1.50m tall, she looked like a little girl. As for Lighta Spark, she easily exceeded 10 meters. Yet, much to the Destiny Boss' astonishment, the usually so cute little hand of the conceptual embodiment of the Tacos gripped her enemy's jugular with unsuspected force. It was absurd. Absurdly unrealistic.
<< Where does such pressure ... come from ? I ...did not expect ... that ... >>
Lighta Spark couldn't move anymore, she could have freed herself but Angela's hold did not allow her any action. She tried many times to escape from that killer hand, to attack her, but nothing helped, it was general paralysis just on contact. She then expected to lose, inevitably, seeing such a difference in strength. But instead, nothing. Angela persisted in her grip and stayed in that position for a moment, which seemed like an eternity to Lighta Spark. She really didn't know what to expect.
<< W-What are you w-waiting for ? Finish me ! >>
Angela stay froze, her gaze still blank under her hair. She was thinking of everything and nothing at the same time, a torrential flow of emotions tormented her incessantly deep inside her, she did not know how to handle it and despite her weary face, she was screaming. She was crying out loud, for help, deep in her heart, a cry for help for anyone who could hear her to calm the emotional attacks that had assailed her from the previous events. In her mind, that would be like confronting a little girl of barely 6 or 7 years old with the outright murder of all of her dearest family and friends, in the most barbaric way possible, and this without however being able to do anything. A stinging helplessness that caused him a visibly irreversible wound in her heart of a young cosmic girl.
For her part, Lighta Spark did not know what she was up to. It must have been several months since Angela brandished her body like a trophy, her hand gripping her neck tightly. After a while, Lighta Spark stopped all attempts to escape and let it dropped.
<< Listen little one, I wanted a fight worthy of the name against the one who had managed to climb the ranks to me. However, I only had the right to ... that. This kind of confrontation without motivation, without life, without hope, I don't want it. Finish me off, that it is over and that I can move on. >>
Unsurprisingly, Angela was not moving. However, she did something that surprised Lighta Spark.
<< Why are you crying ? >>
Fine tears tried to run down Angela's cheeks, but clumped around her eyes due to the lack of spatial gravity. Her usually expressionless mouth twitched into a mouth like a child about to burst into tears.
<< I do not understand you. You came, you defeated me, but obviously you are disappointed. Am I that bad ? >>
Angela suddenly tightened the pressure around Lighta Spark's throat.
<< Ugh ! >>
<< Y-You speak ... without knowing ... >>
<< W-What ? >>
<< Y-You speak ... about life ... about hopes ... >>
Angela suddenly lifted her head, revealing tearful eyes with both a deep hatred and an equally deep desire to be rescued.
<< What the... >>
<< However ... it's been ... a while ... >>
She then put her other hand backward, in the spear position.
<< ... that ... I lost all that !! >>
With force, she projected her sharp hand towards Lighta Spark and violently punctured her left breast.
<< Ouch ! >>
She then felt a sharp pain, as if something entered her and clumped like parasites furious with violence.
<< Why do I feel ... such pain ? What are you doing to me ? What do you want ? >>
<< S-S-Shut up. >>
If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
<< Raah it hurts ! Answer m... >>
<< SHUT YOUR TRAAAAP !!! >>
Externalizing her pain, Angela cried out loud, very loud. Like Shamsal's cold star, space reasoned heavily. It was then that Lighta Spark felt her body boil and tear from the inside. The fight ended when Angela, in a final pressure, opened her hand inside her opponent and created a myriad of spikes, which impaled her up and down. Like a conifer with lots of sharp branches pointing outwards from the trunk, many stakes had come out of Lighta Spark and made her look like a thorny ball.
<< Ugh ! I-I am ... in pain. Why ... am I not ... regenerating ... >>
Angela recalled her peaks and then withdrew her hand, leaving a motionless and pierced Lighta Spark on all sides, expressionless, levitating silently into the void of space. Obviously, Angela had replicated Scyllah's stakes property in this desperate attack, Lighta Spark was finally over, in a relatively heartbreaking way. As was the case with the Destiny Bosses of yesteryear, Lighta Spark, who had lost all of her light and glow, lit up one last time to transform into this so characteristic fragment, which came to lodge in the body of the young girl. But that didn't give her any reaction. As voiceless as before, she nonchalantly continued on her way to the next boss. And so it was during the time that followed.
Fast Homunculus, a imposing golem, very fast and endowed with a number of resistances and other immortal powers in order to survive, it was particularly difficult to overcome, making arguably one of the most complicated Destiny Bosses to definitely defeat. Angela defeated him in one of the most laughable ways possible, obtaining his fragment fairly quickly. Other Destiny Bosses came in the following years, all of them swept away with an ease that did not grant Angela any pronounced joy. On the contrary, if she could do without this resentment that was gnawing at her, she would have gladly done without, even if she did not have all these overpowering powers. It was like a rusty vise, the grip of which allowed increased growth and knowledge, but granted unbearable pain. To be powerful but to suffer was not to her liking. She who was taste cordon bleu and minced meat, with a hint of mayonnaise sauce, had been feeling this bitter taste for too long already, she wanted it to stop.
She devastated dozens and dozens of Destiny Bosses in her blind fury, she didn't even need her astral map anymore to perfectly move towards the next rendez-vous. Each Destiny Boss was as previously said pulverized by various means all more harmless than the others, and most of these bosses were in general very belligerent, even at the time of death. Some were more or less lenient and understanding, but that did not offer them survival in the face of this sorry Miss Tacos. To show the extent of Angela's despair, the Destiny Bosses who were closer to her than others felt this aura of desolation emanating from their mistress. From the hidden dimension where each of the Destiny Bosses Angela has defeated are located, Scyllah emits a feeling of worry.
<< What is happening to you, my little one ? Why be in such a state ? >>
<< You can't understand her, bunch of muscles. >>
<< Because you, as stifled in dignity as you are, you can understand what she feels ? Do not make me laugh. >>
<< This feeling of loneliness, I have already felt it. >>
Scyllah turned to Infamous, dubiously.
<< It's not like you to be so ... how to say ... friendly. What is happening to you too ? >>
Infamous was looking at the sky from their refuge dimension, as if to look directly at Angela.
<< You all know me as a proud and worthy emperor all fired up, nasty as possible and not tolerating defeat and denigration. >>
Scyllah looked at him, then gazed at the sky the same way.
<< Indeed, we have always considered you to be a somewhat unfriendly person, even after several billion years of having been around you. >>
<< I have always been like that indeed, it does not date from yesterday. But before I was chosen and recruited by Cinderella, I had a whole different temperament. >>
Cinderella, the undisputed leader of all Destiny Bosses. None of them have ever seen her with their own eyes, only her name is known. At least, if it is the one that was once communicated. Whether it's Scyllah, Infamous, Boom Breaker, Lighta Spark, Fast Homunculus and the others, no one has seen her live, raising her identity and potential from the legend beyond legends. Her criteria for choosing Destiny Bosses are still currently unknown, and just as much is why she introduced Angela to such a complex destiny. No Destiny Bosses know that either, they just follow orders.
<< It is true that before meeting us through the chef, we knew nothing about each other. I don't even know your past after all. >>
<< And has it never occurred to you to be interested in it ? >>
<< Not really, no. >>
<< Piece of... >>
Infamous pulled himself together.
<< Before Cinderella came my way, I wasn't the furious tyrant I let out the time Angela came to me. Far from this image of a flaming star, I was closer to a peaceful comet from which the body heat would delight anyone who would dive into it. >>
<< It's rather cliché like childhood. >>
<< Shup up, the worm ! Let me live. >>
<< Well. >>
<< Hmm. In doing so, I was much more calm and tender than now. But despite this placid temperament, I lived alone for a long time. Much, much too much time. What would be the use of such kindness and amiability if no one was present to take advantage of it ? The fact that only silence shouldered me annoyed me. >>
<< It holds, I guess. >>
<< I became much more energetic and arrogant when Cinderella came to me. It was like an epiphany, a revelation, and being kind without turning back finally got on my nerves, so I left and abandoned this bland and meaningless life for a much more lively existence. >>
<< Hmm. I see. >>
Infamous had confessed for the first time, moreover to one of his main rivals in Scyllah's presence, but the latter seemed to remain unmoved.
<< What ? My past doesn't suit you, the worm ? >>
<< No, that's not it. >>
<< What in this case ? >>
<< I just thought ... >>
Scyllah gazed more intently at the sky, more especially Angela.
<< ... you got some help and some kind of comfort after a while. >>
At these words, Infamous became more aware of Scyllah's concern. Feeling Angela's feelings as well, he finally told himself that contrary to what he thought, he was far from the mark and could not really put himself in the shoes of the one who had once defeated him.
<< But why doesn't she call us ? If I was rescued in my wandering, we should be able to do the same with her ! >>
<< I don't think it's that simple. I think she would have done it otherwise already. The evil that gnaws at her is rooted in her, the loss of her dear friend must have unlocked something in her heart that is at the origin of this behavior of the most irresponsible and sad. But this simple disappearance should not be responsible for such fury, surely something else has happened. I doubt anyway that we can do anything in its current state, even by strength. >>
<< E-Even by strength ? What do you mean ? Did you give her your fragment of your own free will, no ? >>
<< It is true, but she outclasses me now in everything. I literally can't do anything about her. And that saddens me a lot. >>
Seeing Scyllah so confidant and pained saddened Infamous for a moment.
<< So we are powerless again, especially me. I hope something, anything, will come to her rescue quickly. >>
<< The same. Otherwise, she will continue her vengeful madness. >>
Like Angela who constantly emitted that same dark aura, amalgamation of all of her buried negative feelings, the Destiny Bosses couldn't hide their concern. Angela continued like this for a long time, there was hardly anything that could stop her each time. However, despite this conquering attitude making her the beast she was until then, she still wanted to do none of that. She just wanted to get rid of this absurd feeling which oppressed her, this sadness which pained her, this fear which paralyzed her, this anger which was gnawing at her. She was so good before, so joyful, so happy, to discover life and everything. But she couldn't appreciate these things in the same way, the existence of evil where she would have least suspected, it had made her lose hope. The difference between her, a grotesque and impromptu incarnation, and the various entities she met during her journey, reinforced her in the idea that she clearly had no place in this world.
This loss of self-confidence intensified as she encountered Destiny Bosses. Yet she continued this mission, she wanted to put an end to it all. Everything was going bad for her, a real decadence that no one would even wish to witness. Until the day when in her continuation of fate, she crossed paths with a certain Destiny Boss, a Destiny Boss who did not have the appearance of a monster and did not give the impression of being one. A basic, simple appearance, reminiscent of a simple gentleman from Earth. She might not have known that he was one of the enemies to be killed if the latter had not, on his own, gone to meet her to warn her of his identity.
A very preventive man, very healthy, very calm, he inspired the respect and the warmth of a father at the same time. If Angela wasn't blinded by this desire to end it, she surely would have taken the time to contemplate him and his soft, pleasant appearance.
<< So it is in these circumstances that we meet. >>
As was the case with Lighta Spark and the other Destiny Bosses after her, no answer. Angela remained silent in the middle of an empty cosmos and equally silent. The gentleman was looking at Angela. He was watching her carefully, as if to analyze something deeply.
<< I heard of your recent exploits, young lady. You are in pain, I can feel intense grief and anger emanating from you. >>
<< Shut up ... >>
<< Silencing those going against you, is this how you want to solve your delicate problem ? >>
<< S-Shut ... up ... >>
<< This is not the solution to your worries. You want help from anyone who can help you, but paradoxically, you violently push away anyone who might be able to appease you. Isn't that a very contradictory behavior ? >>
Angela was making the same tense face than when she faced with Lighta Spark, she couldn't stand being lectured.
<< I-I said ... SHUT U... >>
As it once was with Lighta Spark, now it was Angela's turn to be surprised. She didn't have time to finish her sentence as the humanoid Destiny Boss had moved at lightning speed in front of her. With his finger on her forehead, the man held a few words for her as he lifted her head to his.
<< Look at yourself, you are pitiful to see. I understood that you were filled with a will and a desire to learn without fail, what happened to you ? Although being in the opposing camp, I will give you some support. >>
From said finger, he gently nudged Angela's head, who, unexplainedly, was paralyzed and fell backwards, very slowly. Following the power of the mysterious Destiny Boss she had just encountered, her body had been momentarily calmed, and her mind, appeased.
<< Pfiou ! It was less one, she's a lot more intimidating than the rumors suggest. It's rather astonishing at the sight of the innocent little girl that she is. I hope this trip will give you some of the comfort you are looking for. >>
Under this unconscious state, the Destiny Boss managed to skillfully manipulate some of her powers, including that of the defeated Destiny Bosses. With a few gestures, he brought out of their dimension certain Destiny Bosses, who appeared alongside Angela without understanding how or why.
<< What are we doing here ? Did she not want to not call on us ? >>
<< It's not her. Look. >>
Scyllah, who had been summoned, pointed at the mysterious Destiny Boss that had put Angela to sleep. Infamous, in the same case as Scyllah, could not stand his sight.
<< You ! Small piece of shit moving from the depths of the sandboxes ! How DARE YOU introduce yourself to me ?! >>
<< So to speak, it was rather you who came back to me. I'm surprised there are only 2 of you, who are closest Destiny Boss to your receptacle. >>
<< Don't fool with me, you bastard ! I still remember the humiliation you caused me, and I'll make you pay for it ! >>
<< Still so resentful from what I see. >>
<< Infamous, it is enough ! We are not here for that. >>
<< Tss. >>
Scyllah walked over to the strange man.
<< Was it you who brought us out, Narcisse ? >>
<< And you, always so insightful. It is I who am responsible for your coming here. >>
<< Why did you take us out now ? Where is our mistress ? >>
<< You therefore consider her as your superior. Mmh, that's understandable effectively. >>
<< Stop procrastinating, I know you and your shenanigans all too well. >>
<< It's good, it's good. Look behind you. >>
Turning around, Scyllah and Infamous saw Angela, unconscious. At the sight of it, it was Scyllah's blood that swirled around. Moving towards the so-called Narcisse, he took him by the neck with strength and summoned him to explain himself.
<< You, dirty deceitful recidivist. What did you do to Angela ? >>
<< And then, they yell at me because I'm angry. >>
<< Calm down, you guys. I did nothing that would cause her harm. >>
<< So explain her condition to us. >>
Narcisse first motioned to him to let go, which he did.
<< In the first place, I guess you are more or less aware of what is happening to your ... mistress. >>
<< Indeed. >>
<< Well. Unlike you, I recently witnessed, physically and mentally, this aura that she constantly emits, this same aura that you have felt and which attests to the somberness and sadness of her spirit now. What I did to her was just a kind of spiritual anesthesia. >>
<< That is to say ? >>
<< To put it more simply, she is currently in a trance. Her mind, her body, they're both asleep. >>
Scyllah had calmed down as well, but he didn't understand.
<< I understand that calming her is one of the solutions to stop her fury, but what will it be used for in the end ? >>
After finishing his sentence, Scyllah emitted that same aura that had frightened Angela from time immemorial.
<< It seems obvious that I want her to wake up. >>
<< Well, what a scary aura and gaze. >>
<< No more chatter ! >>
<< The discussion is narrow with you. Basically, this little girl's trance is a cure. >>
<< A cure ? >>
<< During her forced sleep, she will have to confront herself, her problems, her demons. >>
<< Mmh. I see. Will that be enough to completely solve the problem ? >>
<< Well, it could eradicate a lot of the feelings that assail her. However ... >>
<< However ? >>
<< Everything will depend on her willingness to return to what she was before and to mourn those who unwittingly caused her all these troubles. >>
Scyllah and Infamous looked at each other, then turned their gaze at Angela.
<< Hope this is the help she so badly needed. >>
<< Indeed, there is more ... to wait. >>
Narcisse stayed in the background as the duo moved to the bedside of little girl Tacos. Interrogative, he was nonetheless excited and interested in the turn of events.
<< Well, well. It promises to be interesting. Let us let her trance act and see what goes into it. >>
