The streets were barren. An eerie silence descended on the streets after the crows had flown away, repeating the same message over and over that the Outliers were wanted. Iron led the group from alleyway to alleyway, trying their best to remain out of sight.
“Iron do we even know where we’re going?” Rockafella asked in a whisper.
Iron poked his head out of the alleyway, looking left and right.
“To be honest, I have no idea. Just be on the lookout for a rail car or something. We’re not gonna be able to walk our way back.”
“I’m getting tired of hiding like some bitch. I say we just book it” Lunkhead suggested.
“That’s a horrible idea. Don’t know who’s out there, there are eyes everywhere.” West shut down.
“In case you haven’t noticed smart ass, we haven’t seen anyone in a while. Stop being a pussy.”
“Oh no they’re definitely out there. I don’t know whose territory we’re in, but we’re being watched. I can feel it.”
“Pfft, yeah right, you’re just-”
“Quiet.” Iron commanded.
The two Outliers immediately stopped talking. Iron kept looking at his surroundings, noticing a rusty street sign beneath a lamp post.
“Dodge street.” he read.
“Dodge street? Why does that name sound familiar?” Rockafella said, mostly to himself.
“Why that’s because you’re in Dodge Street Boys territory! Ahahahahahahahah!” a voice announced behind them.
They all spun around, seeing a man with a black and yellow striped shirt with blue pants and a black cowboy hat way too large for his head standing at the end of the alley. He had sparkling blue eyes and stood in a strangely flamboyant pose.
“Gaze upon me fools! You stand in the presence of greatness!” he exclaimed, performing another flashy pose, almost sparkling.
“What the fuck?” West uttered.
“Who’s the fruit?” Lunkhead asked the group.
“Oh you insults don’t affect me barbarian, for I know your time is forfeit. We, the Dodge Street Boys, have heard the crime you’ve committed. We will be taking your heads and be handsomely compensated and boost our standing to boot. Ahahahahahahaa!” the strange man added.
“Oh I remember now. These guys are losers, they weren’t invited to the parlee” Rockafella revealed.
“Silence! LS-95 will see that they erred for not inviting us once we bring them your heads. For you see-”
Feral got annoyed by the man’s theatrics so he picked up a random brick and chucked it. The brick shattered upon hitting the man on the head. He bent down, holding onto his now bleeding noggin.
“Ow! Ah fuck! My beautiful head! You will pay Outliers! Get them!” He yelled.
Young Blood stepped forward, preparing himself to charge when he felt something tighten around his leg. He looked down, seeing that wrapped around his foot was a rope. Quickly whirling around he saw that a group of men on horses dressed like the flamboyant man had appeared, having snuck up on the Outliers. They all had ropes on their person and totaled four in all. Young Blood traced the rope around his leg and saw that it led to the one in the middle. The man stared at Young Blood and smiled.
“We’re going for a ride kid, have fun” he told Young Blood in a raspy voice.
The horse began to run away from the alley, forcing the boy onto his back as he began to get dragged across the floor.
“Young Blood!” West called out, trying to catch him before he was completely out the alley but right before he could get his hands on his fellow Outlier, a rope had wrapped around his own arm, yanking him forward onto the ground.
“Guys they got me!”
Lunkhead tried to get West but he was too slow, West being dragged out of the alley in a flash, going in the opposite direction as Young Blood.
“How about you fight us head on, you pussies!” Lunkhead challenged, his arms becoming encased in metal.
“My pleasure” one of the remaining horse riders said.
The horse began to run towards Lunkhead, quickly increasing its gait. Lunkhead stood there, preparing to take the animal head on when its rider held out his hand. Out of thin air appeared a large hammer. The horse stopped in front of Lunkhead, allowing its rider to attack. Lunkhead put his arms up in defense as the hammer collided with his forearms with enough force to send him through the wall, separating him from the rest of the group. The man got off his horse and followed his target inside the building as the horse ran away to safety.
The final horse rider got off his horse and surprisingly, sat on the ground with his legs crossed, beginning to chant something to himself.
“That can’t be good” Rockafella commented, realizing that only he, Axe (asleep on the ground), Feral, and Iron remained.
“Don’t worry, these guys are pushovers. They can’t even dodge bricks.” Feral replied, still happy with his brick throw.
“You. You’re the one that defiled my beauty. You’re not good enough to fight me. Quick Draw, handle him.” the flamboyant man ordered.
“Quick Draw?”
The man that had been chanting raised his right hand as it began to emit a bright blue light. Feral noticed that he was beginning to feel lighter and lighter. He glanced down to see that he was floating above the ground.
“Hey War Chief, I think I might be in trouble” Feral announced.
Rockafella tried to get a hold of him but before he could get a grip, Feral was sent flying back, past the sitting man, into a pile of garbage cans on the other side of the street.
“Thank you Quick Draw! Now let us be.” the flamboyant man told him.
Rockafella began to run after Feral, ready to strike at the sitting man when he stopped in his tracks, like he had run into a wall. He stepped back, seeing that a blue force field had been erected, shutting the alleyway off from the outside world. He banged on the force field in frustration.
“Outliers! Now that your pets are gone, you are helpless before me! I, Tequila, will be your end! I kill you all myself” the flamboyant man pronounced.
Iron had been staring at the rival gang leader this whole time, indifferent that most of the group was separated.
“They’re going to be fine, Rockafella. Let’s take this clown out” Iron told him.
“Oho? Underestimating me are you? Your mistake Iron. I’ll have you know I won’t fall as easily as Cyrus.” Tequila shot back.
Rockafella cracked his knuckles, said “Alright War Chief, let’s make this quick.”
