Have you heard about the Other World? The Other World where previously, various protagonists have written out their story, either to conquer the Demon Lords, partake in leisure activities for a comfortable life, revolutionize the medical field, manufacturing industry, and so on. They are equipped with overpowered abilties, monstrous boosts, or incomparable perseverance and determination that eventually led to them being blessed by the virtuous deities.
In the contemporary society, the Other World has turned into a lottery system. Stories of people going to Other World became more common, to the point where it seemed like a desirable option to permanently escape some's reality. ODT, Other Dimension Transporters, monopolized the Other World market, securing contracts with over 120 different dimensions. There are no more Truck-kun, deity's accidents, murders, health complications, but instead, a machine that can transport you to the Other World. Like the modern interpretation of lottery, each day, ODT would pick 3 people via a live broadcast, and proceed to transport those 3 into a random dimension owned by the company. Each person can only have 1 chance/day.
Today, another crowd gathered at the public square, waiting to see the results on the humongous screen. The number was unperceivable, much to the point where they looked like miniscule creatures such as ants rather than human beings. Feelings of anxiousness arised, prayers to God were audible, incantations were mightfully chanted, and giggles upon hearing those incantations were heard. At 16:30, the screen was up, and all sounds were omitted as if speaking seems like an illegal act
"Greetings everyone, welcome to the daily Other World Lottery. I am Herald and on behalf of the Other Dimension Transporters, thank you for purchasing the lottery ticket for the Other World Lottery." a robotic-like sound came from the nearby speakers
The babbling went on for 10 minutes, until the robotic-like voice changed to an energetic, jubilant home-shopping advertisement voice.
"Moving onto the highlight of the day: The Other World Winners. Let's find out about our first winner...."
The first person was announced, then the second, then the third. A discontented atmosphere was inevitable, the previous feelings of anxiousness quickly anguished and was replaced with disappointment. Some shouted "I'll get to the Other World next time", but the majority of the crowd was filled with sighs, as if they knew that luck wasn't on their side this time as well. Then, the crowd quickly dissipated and life resumed, as if the lottery was never part of their daily life.

Ayden was asleep in his bed when the commotions occured. Snuggling with his pillow, he had another dream today about going on those adventures in the reincarnated world. There was an elf girl with luscious yellow hair holding a bow, a human boy wielding a sword, and Ayden, who was holding a rod, venturing through the woods. Pretty typical team with typical roles, Ayden thought in his dreams, after all, all he's been immersing himself these days are these reincarnated stories with overpowered protagonists that was transported to this world by "accident", and has to embark on an adventure to conquer the Demon Lord or something along the lines of that.
The dream suddenly changed into a battle, Ayden was standing in front of a wild boar with none of his teammates, and he was extremely perplexed. In an attempt to shoot out a Fireball, he quickly realized that his magical aptitude is probably nonexistent, as the size of the Fireball was as small as a fly. He took a step back, put the rod into the inventory, and ran for his life. Behind him, the roaring sounds of the wild boar can be heard and the ground was moderately shaking due to the impact of the wild boar's steps.
"It's such a relief that I knew this was a dream, or I would not muster up enough courage to run from that wild boar." Ayden thought
"I have to run somewhere now, but where am I in this endless forest? Do I even have a map?"
"Summon: Map." Ayden yelled
There was nothing in front of his eyes, rather, his vision has increasingly became blurry, and he was panting more and more with every passing second. Eventually, his legs gave in and Ayden fell down, smelling the grass with his face, while he wild boar's sounds became more evident and its breath could be felt by the back of Ayden's head. Recognizing his fate in the dream, Ayden muttered:
"In the first place, why am I even here exploring the forest? And if this was a dream, at least make me stronger than I am in the real world so I could survive, please."
As the wild boar started to initiate its attack, a scream echoed in the forest:
"Ah, fuck the Other World."
Ayden opened his eyes, looking forward to another dreadful day in school. He reached toward the night stand to turn off the alarm clock while his body remain intact with the bed.
"Huh, why is there grass?" Ayden turned over and take a look at the floor
Ayden slapped himself as hard as he could, assuring himself that this was just a dream. On the outside, he looked emotionless while doing something extremely dangerous to his face, and possibly his hands. Yet, after many slaps, Ayden knew that something was not right. It was a reality he didn't want to accept, nor was one he didn't dare to reject. Ayden knew that his perception of reality and the world has been significantly altered.
This is the Other World.
This is the forest he encountered the Wild Boar.
And this is not a dream.
"Oh, hell no."
