Return of Lazersauras
“Some laws, regarding super-villain activity, get a little confusing. This is partially due to supervillains being viewed as different, in most cases, to more conventional criminals. While Red Capes tend to be shown no mercy by courts or the public and are considered somewhere between terrorists and serial killers, others don’t have that problem.”
“Black Capes tend to try to keep collateral, human, damage to a minimum just to keep White capes from considering lethal options. Gray capes are even shown more traditional tolerance, in spite of the law not being written quite that way.”
“Then there’s kid capes, the juvenile offenders. So many punks end up crossing over to the white cape side as they age, there’s a strong tendency towards leniency for them, at least in more liberal political environments.”
“Insurance companies rage against this, which just seems to earn the capes more support, even if some teen punk might car jack you by running up behind you and picking your car up, then running away, giggling.”

"It's coming from the water, is there a ship in distress?" Kreigsmarine used his power to create a small set of silvery stairs allowing him to float several feet in the air, looking into the distance. "Is there a reason someone would have a large robotic Tyrannosaur coming to the party?"
“Damn it! Penny, has that little idiot already been released?” She floated up a bit to see herself. “It’s a rather misguided teenaged boy who fancies himself a villain named Lazorsaurus or some such. Last time he had water cannons, the pilot was in the chest. I pulled the thing’s head off the day I was thawed.”
“Oh, very well. Would you be a darling and keep him from damaging the ship or museum and I will pull him out of his cockpit and give him a slap for foolishness. “
“I can do that. With all the political figures here I’d hate to see the idiot charged with treason.” Solaris took Kriegsmarine’s arm and the two flew towards the mechanical robot. Solaris pulled back, taking a defensive position, summoning a shield of light. It was a great defense, but she couldn’t attack or move while using it.
“Ha. I forgot she could do that.” Kreigsmarine laughed. He continued flying towards the robot walking across his silvery energy disks as he slipped driving gloves on. “Listen, boy, I have little patience for foolishness. Shut it down now, and I will permit you to leave.” He yelled, voice carrying from long years of command.
“Fuck you old man! I am Laz0rsaurus!” The tyrannosaurus bot opened its mouth, and six heavy streams of high pressure water blasted out, the robot leaning forward, preparing to swing its reinforced tail at the elder villain.
The older enhanced didn’t move, letting the water hit him, only to blast the tail out of existence with a casual flick of his wrist sending an iron colored orb of energy into it as it came swinging at him. The bot staggered unsteadily.
Kriegsmarine surged forward, appearing to run through the air instead of fly, his fine control of his power absolute, driving his fist through the cockpit. He pulled the cover off with one hand as though it were wrapping paper over an unwelcome gift. “Do you know how hard it is to dry wool, you idiot.”
“What the hell dickhead! Your suit is easier to dry than it will be to fix my robot!
"Will it?" He formed a large energy sphere in his hand, floating them up higher, and dropped it on the robot, completely destroying the torso. "There, now you have nothing to fix!" He started 'walking' towards the Intrepid, shaking his head and carrying the teen by the ankle, dangling over the Hudson bay. "Over a century, and I'm still stunned by how boneheaded you mechanicals are."
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
Solaris sighed, dancing like a firefly to keep shrapnel from the now exploding robot from hitting the aircraft carrier and her guests. “Really Killian?” She drawled “that is going to take forever to clean up.”
"It's New York, this is hardly the biggest mess someone's put in their bay." Then he got punched in the nose by the flailing teen. "Did you sincerely just punch me in the face? I respect the courage, but are you on drugs of some form?"
“Fuck you! I’m not broken! I didn’t even get to use my Lazer, and you destroyed my bot!” He tried to kick Kreigsmarine in the balls howling as he hurt his leg.
Solaris landed on the deck smoothing her skirt. “Penny, why is this child acting out?”
Penny opened her mouth, but winced as a wet slap, from the backhand, openhanded slap Kreigsmarine gave the boy shortly before landing filled the air. To be fair, the 'reformed' villain had hit the kid just hard enough to daze him, dropping him to the deck as he landed.
"Stupid high IQ, possibly narcissistic personality disorder, large family who are all high achievers, plus he's still young enough to get the Juvie treatment, especially since he's so bad at what he tries to do that he's never managed to actually commit much more than high level vandalism. Terrorism charges don't stick because he lacks political motivation."
"So, the boy is engaging in self-destructive performance art. Strangely consistent in our set." The German man observed.
“Yes, it is.” Solaris said, looking over at Helen. “Could you arrange for me to talk to his, DCFS agent. I know he has to have one. Kriegsmarine is right, he is really, really bad at this.”
"His PO more like." Penny muttered, and glanced at Helen, who also nodded. "We can put you in touch. And on the down low, he's got family issues that were redacted from public record. I'll get you that file."
"Then I'll leave the boy to you." Killian said, though he crouched. "You are lucky. Lady Elizabeth considers you worth her time. Use that to improve yourself, before someone less gentle than I targets your cockpit first." He stood, straightening his jacket. "Solaris, call me when you know about the podcast. Director, Ms. Ward." He strode off, seeking dryer clothing.
Solaris chuckled, “He loathes wet socks.” She said to the other two women. I don’t know if I want to take the child on, but I want to know more to see if I am the right person to help him, before someone less controlled than Killian turns him to paste
"Versus slapping the fail out of the kid?" Penny muttered, watching two marines arrest the boy.
"I'll send you the info. I'm willing to give you a chance to scare him straight, especially with your 'fledglings' to help keep him in line." Helen nodded. "And I think I can convince the locals of the same. He builds annoyingly understandable but advanced tech, so he could have a legitimate future if he'd get out of his own way."
“We will see. Though I am a bit of a sucker for a sob story.” Solaris rolled her shoulders. “I’d say that deserves a trip to the buffet and bar. Solar shield always leaves me hungry.”
"Yeah, I think that sounds good." Penny agreed. "I mean, how do we top Kriegsmarine blowing up a giant robot for the evening?"
“It really shouldn’t have exploded that easy.” Solaris said. Taking a plate and loading it up. “We need to let the podcasters and Zakai know Killian wants in on the interview.”
"Oh? I thought watching them twitch would be fun." The technician said with a chuckle.
“Oh, I am sure they are going to twitch. I can’t imagine him doing a lot of low-key interviews.”
"He's actually known for shying away from the Media. He does the occasional press conference, but one-on-one interviews are fairly rare."
Solaris felt her phone in her purse buzz and set down her plate. “That is probably Zakai now.”
"Hello Solaris, this is Tracy from EpicEmblem, Zakai asked me to reach out since there was a dino. He'd have called, but he's at a thing with air force friends." She said, "I saw what went down. Let the German Juggernaut bat cleanup tonight? Might be a few appreciative about that. He rarely displays his current power level."
“He’s not the best on defense and there are a lot of VIPs on the ship, so it made more sense, if we both went on the assault, we might have hurt the kid…we are both a bit competitive.”
"And he's not known for being a major threat, giant mecha notwithstanding." She agreed. "We wanted to know if you were going to need to drop a statement since this is the second run in with Mechasaurus or whatever he called it."
“I’m not sure. I’m going to talk to his PO or DCFS counselor and get back to you. I am debating if I want to work with him before he gets himself killed. See if I can get him on a straighter track.”
Solaris looked up at the UNLOC commander. “Would it be okay to make the statement tomorrow?”
"Do you notice how the only person he injured up and left? He barely managed disturbing the peace this time, so no real need for a statement. Unless you expect the Chancellor to return, I think it's going to be pretty light paperwork for a giant mecha attack."
“That’s good to know.” She turned back to her phone. “I’m going to go mingle a bit, I’ll let you know what happens with Lazorsaurs tomorrow.” She hung up. Heading into the more dangerous world of politics to talk to the governor and DEA, she was going to have fun complaining about New York’s ridiculous gun laws.
