Date: Debo Calendar, Year 85, February 1st
Following the 173rd barbarian invasion at the end of Year 84 of the Debo Calendar, which triggered a series of corruption scandals, the Oasis City Public Security Bureau has completed a two-month investigation. This includes auditing, interrogations, trials, and executions. A total of 30 officials were arrested, including the former Mayor of Springfort (executed), the former Captain of the Springfort Garrison (executed), and the former Head of the First Group Army's Construction Corps (executed), with seized assets totaling approximately 50,000 gold coins.
1. Incident Origin (Extracted from the Kingdom Army's preliminary report on the 173rd barbarian invasion)
On the morning of October 30th, Year 84 of the Debo Calendar, Springfort, located at the northeastern frontier of the eastern continent of the Kingdom, was invaded by desert barbarians, marking the 173rd barbarian invasion. The barbarian forces did not attack the city directly upon arrival as usual, but instead, after a 15-day siege, repeatedly attempted to use ladders to infiltrate the city. However, they were fiercely resisted by the defending troops and local militia. Subsequently, the barbarians coerced captured border soldiers to use 5 light cannons seized from our army to bombard the city gates and walls. Due to construction time constraints and unique local geological conditions, the walls of Springfort were not fully reinforced as planned, collapsing after about 25 rounds of bombardment, resulting in the loss of the first line of defense. The former Mayor and Garrison Captain then led most of the troops to retreat into the castle, planning to continue resistance until reinforcements arrived.
Due to the suddenness of the invasion, the border troops failed to send messengers in time to Springfort and other nearby garrisoned cities, leaving nearby troops, including the main army of Oasis City, uninformed. 14 days into the siege, on November 14th, Year 84 of the Debo Calendar, a team responsible for transporting military supplies to Springfort sent back an emergency request for assistance via carrier pigeon. Prince Sylvan Forest then led the Second Cavalry Regiment of the Second Army Group to Springfort for rescue, followed by the Third Infantry Division and Fourth Artillery Regiment. The Second Cavalry Regiment, led by Prince Sylvan Forest, arrived 10 kilometers south of Springfort after a 3-day forced march and launched an attack the following dawn, successfully breaking through the barbarian encirclement and reaching the city walls. The vanguard troops faced resistance from the enemy on three sides as the castle's defenders refused to open the gates to coordinate with the rescue troops. Prince Sylvan Forest and the Second Cavalry Regiment, in a dire situation, had no choice but to break out again, retreating 15 kilometers outside Springfort after suffering heavy losses. In this battle, the Second Cavalry Regiment suffered 192 casualties, 388 captured, lost 1,400 horses, with an additional 120 missing. Unable to launch an effective attack with the remaining forces, they waited for the remaining reinforcements, encountering multiple barbarian night raids but with no further casualties. The Third Infantry Division and Fourth Artillery Regiment arrived at noon on November 18th. After a night's rest, all troops, under the leadership of Prince Sylvan Forest, launched a total of 3 attacks, successfully crushing the main enemy forces, annihilating over 3,000 enemies, capturing 42 soldiers, 124 horses, and 2 light cannons. The enemy then fled, and the defense of Springfort, the 173rd barbarian invasion, concluded victoriously for our army on November 24th, Year 84 of the Debo Calendar.
After the enemy retreated, the castle's defending troops still refused to open the gates, forcing the Kingdom Army to blast open the gates with cannons and engage in battle with the original garrison. After about 2 hours of melee combat, the original garrison was completely defeated, and the former Mayor and Garrison Captain were captured alive.
(This information is provided by the Intelligence Department of the Kingdom Army)
Due to the disappearance of all law enforcement officers and security personnel in Springfort during the invasion, Prince Sylvan Forest appointed the Oasis City Public Security Bureau to form a special investigation team to travel to Springfort to investigate the related incidents triggered by the battle. After interrogating all involved parties, the special investigation team identified the incident as a corruption case.
2.Springfort Information
Springfort is located at the junction of the Permafrost Plateau and the Death Desert. The garrison and related bureaucratic institutions were established on April 15th, Year 84 of the Debo Calendar. Springfort, originally a barbarian gathering place, was incorporated into the Kingdom's territory after the Kingdom Army defeated the barbarian troops on March 1st, Year 84 of the Debo Calendar, and was then planned as a frontier town. The castle, city walls, and related defense facilities began design and construction on May 1st, with the construction team from the First Construction Corps of the Army stationed in Deepwell City responsible for the work. The original construction period was planned for 3 months, but due to multiple accidents, the progress was severely delayed, and the construction was not completed before the invasion of Springfort. The subsequent investigation revealed that many of these situations were deliberately caused.

3.Investigation Process
The special investigation team from the Oasis City Public Security Bureau arrived on November 26th, Year 84 of the Debo Calendar, and immediately began their investigation. Inside the storehouse of Springfort Castle, the team discovered a large amount of military supplies not registered with the army's supply department. This included the missing military provisions reported by the First Army Group on October 1st, 85 new rapid-fire cannons imported by the Second and Third Army Groups from Fairwind Port Military Supply Department at the end of Year 83, and a large quantity of unaccounted weapons and ammunition.
The investigation team promptly began interrogating the former Mayor of Springfort and the Garrison Captain. Initially, both refused to disclose the origin of the unregistered equipment in the warehouse. However, after presenting relevant evidence and statements from other implicated parties, they admitted to the origins of the unregistered goods and confessed to all their crimes, also implicating the former Head of the First Group Army's Construction Corps.
Following these admissions, the investigation team arrested the remaining 28 implicated individuals, including the former Head of the First Group Army's Construction Corps, and after confirming the validity of the related contents, executed the three main culprits – the former Mayor of Springfort, the former Garrison Captain, and the former Head of the First Group Army's Construction Corps. The remaining 27 individuals were sentenced to muteness and dispatched to various frontier towns under construction to serve as construction laborers.
4.Details of the Crime
4.1 Crimes and Sentence of the Former Mayor of Springfort
Nile Blaze, male, born in Year 43 of the Debo Calendar, initially served as the head of the Deepwell City Supplies Department. Due to his outstanding work, he was appointed as the Mayor of Springfort by the Kingdom's bureaucratic office after its establishment. During the 173rd barbarian invasion, he failed in defense and refused to cooperate with the reinforcing troops, leading to significant losses for the First Cavalry Regiment of the Third Army Group. Consequently, he was interrogated and investigated by the special investigation team of the Oasis City Public Security Bureau. After taking office as Mayor, Nile Blaze failed to maintain his previous high performance level and colluded with the former Garrison Captain, Adven Flare, and the former Head of the First Group Army's Construction Corps, Stanton Terra, to embezzle construction funds and deliberately cause construction accidents to extend the construction period and defraud more funds. All embezzled funds were used to pay mercenaries and purchase luxury goods. The Oasis City Court, in accordance with relevant laws, sentenced Nile Blaze to death, which was carried out immediately.
4.2 Crimes and Sentence of the Former Garrison Captain of Springfort
Adven Flare, male, born in Year 41 of the Debo Calendar, originally served as the Captain of the Third Cavalry Regiment of the First Army Group. He was appointed as the Garrison Captain of Springfort by the Kingdom's military office after its establishment. After taking office as Garrison Captain, Adven Flare colluded with the former Mayor, Nile Blaze, and the former Head of the First Group Army's Construction Corps, Stanton Terra, to embezzle construction funds and deliberately cause construction accidents to extend the construction period and defraud more funds. He also used the embezzled funds to hire thief gangs to rob or steal a large amount of military supplies, including the missing military provisions reported by the First Army Group on October 1st and 85 new rapid-fire cannons imported by the Second and Third Army Groups from Fairwind Port Military Supply Department at the end of Year 83. The Oasis City Court, in accordance with relevant laws, sentenced Adven Flare to death, which was carried out immediately.
4.3 Crimes and Sentence of the Former Head of the First Group Army's Construction Corps
Stanton Terra, male, born in Year 44 of the Debo Calendar, served as the Head of the First Group Army's Construction Corps. After the establishment of Springfort, he was responsible for the construction of the city's defense facilities. Due to the instructions of the former Mayor, Nile Blaze, and the former Garrison Captain, Adven Flare, he was interrogated and investigated by the special investigation team of the Oasis City Public Security Bureau. After taking charge of the construction of the city's defenses, Stanton Terra committed multiple derelictions of duty, colluding with the former Mayor, Nile Blaze, and the former Garrison Captain, Adven Flare, to embezzle construction worker wages and actively cooperate in creating false construction accident scenarios, subsequently using his official capacity to conceal the truth, leading to the occurrence of related accidents. The Oasis City Court, in accordance with relevant laws, sentenced Stanton Terra to death, which was carried out immediately.
