The next day came with much anticipation. However, having my current status allowed me to only show my strengths in character. With no cracks or holes. My status is safe and my words are the key.
Now then, if I know this, and everyone else knows this… then why am I standing out here in the shivering cold! I told trainer Jin to take me to that girl’s master and he just threw me on top of some damn mountain in front of some shabby cabin. I will have his head the next time I see him.
My teeth chattered with misery as I felt the snow piling on the top of my head.
Rustle...Rustle…
From behind the cabin out walked a beautiful girl who could’ve been compared with an angel. She wore a long white robe that complimented her figure very nicely. She indeed is very angelic. I looked down to her hands to see her holding a Guqin. However, the other thing I noticed is...she isn’t shivering! That robe must be awfully warm.
I noticed her eyes were widened as she gazed at me with a surprised look. As her lips were parted, I snapped back to reality and instantly corrected my posture.
“Where is your teacher?” I said straightforwardly.
“We do not need any more students.” She replied distantly.
“I did not ask what you need, I asked where your teacher is.”
I could see her visibly frustrated as she bit her lip. Now I’m not heartless. This action just made her even cuter and made me want to bully her more.
A smile grew on my face then I took a couple steps forward, putting my hands behind my back.
She stood there furrowing her eyebrows at me but never breaking her sight.
As I was an inch away, I watched as her eyes started to glow.
A fiery red in one eye while another was icy blue. What is this power?
I stopped in place and felt the chills becoming more intense, coursing through my body as if trying to freeze me from inside.
“Leng, enough playing around. Let him inside.” A voice sounded from inside the cabin.
“Tsk… get any closer to me and I’m warning you.” She said without a shift in tone but with a look of full seriousness.
My teeth chattered and I shivered even more as my smile frowned at her. Did she believe she could order me around? Arrogance is one’s downfall!
She opened the door and walked inside. I followed in after, rushing to get out of the presumptuous snow that had no order.
When I got inside, the cabin was more different than I thought. Instead of a small room, it was a staircase that led to a lower level. My eyebrow arched as I found the architecture to be quite curious.
Xia Leng was already at the bottom of the staircase, looking up to me with cold eyes that reverted from the previous glow.
I walked down step by step not wanting to humiliate myself and trip from the melted snow.
When I reached the bottom of the staircase, my eyes marveled at the unexpected size of inside the small cabin!
The ceiling was high and the floor was very spacious. Tall bookshelves wrapped around all of the walls, not having any gap between the books. There was an elevated floor in the air at the far back with stairs to lead up to it. A dwelling with two floors?

The place was well lit with candles throughout the whole place, not having a spot of darkness. My eyes did indeed sparkle for these kinds of things. It is very interesting how can I not!
“Did you need something?” A voice sounded from upon the second floor.
An admittedly handsome man sat upon a chair on the wooden platform. He was sitting cross legged with a book in hand, staring at me with an unknown expression.
A smile grew on my face.
Does he not want me here? If so then that would make his experience with me rather uncomfortable will it not? After all, he will soon be boosting my cultivation.
“I came for your guidance in my cultivation. Do so and I will reward you with the finance of my family. Money and status will never be an issue in this city.”
He stared at me for a moment before opening his book back up. I felt my eyebrow twitch upon seeing the nerves of a person who would ignore me! I frowned at him and started to walk forward.
“Enter Lanzhou Academy.” He said finally, making me stop in my tracks.
“What?”
“Participate in next month’s exams and enter the school. If you are able to pass the exams I will be your teacher and make you the strongest of your generation.” He stated plainly as if it was such an easy feat.
“Lanzhou school? Why must I enter a place filled with commoners? And what’s stopping me from simply forcing you to be my teacher?” I smirked as I finished.
Why would I have to listen to such orders just to be taught by him? There are many talented teachers are there not?
“Are you so pathetic? If so then I judged you poorly. Please leave.”
He waved his hand and a gust of wind made my body propel backwards. I brought my arms up to resist but I was no match for such powerful spiritual Qi.
He is indeed strong. But does he think he is stronger than my family? You must be a fool to believe that…
The wind faded and I was able to find my footing. I stood back straight up and stared coldly at the man on top of the second floor.
My worth is already proven. I’ll play along with his little game for now. A school exam? Easy. Are commoners going to be able to stop me? I am, after all, the son of nobles.
I turned on my heel swiftly and proceeded to the staircase. The girl from before was off on the side staring at me.
“If it’s because I’m handsome, I’m sorry but my family has already arranged my future wife. You will have to wait for the next lifetime.”
As I said this her face grew furious and her eyes started to glow those particular colors once more as her hair started to float. I quickly shuffled on my feet and went up the stairs. Before going all the way up, I turned back and smiled then proceeded all the way up.
Teasing her really is just too much fun.

When Hua Zheng left the small cabin, Xia Leng turned back to the man on the second floor.
“Father! Why did you promise him such things?” She pouted with a confused look on her face.
“Leng.” He said.
“Yes?”
“What do you think of him?” He asked which made Xia Leng even more confused.
Why is he being so strange?
“I believe him to be arrogant. Too arrogant because of his family yet has no power himself.”
The man was silent for a moment before speaking.
“Indeed. What you are saying is true, but if he is so arrogant, then why would he come here?”
Xia Leng brought a hand to her chin to think for a moment. “To become powerful of course.”
“Haha.” The man laughed. “Yes, that is correct. But did you know? The child is also ambitious. He is the youngest child of the five children in that household and yet still believes he can win the family seat. Why would he even bother coming here?”
Xia Leng thought to herself that her father was indeed speaking the truth. There is no way Hua Zheng would be able to become the leader of his family. Why would such a person like him have those ambitions? It’s foolish to trick yourself into believing such lies.
Xia Leng nodded to her father but still was confused as to why he would make such an impossible task for him if he really saw such ambition.
The school exam is by no means easy. And Hua Zheng is only in the Enhancement Plane, most people his age are already in the Invincible and Juggernaut plane. He stands no chance in passing… just what is father thinking? Does he actually not like him as he says?
She shook her head and decided not to think about it anymore. He will not pass so there is no way he will be able to come back unless by using other means.
