(Gun fire raging from machine guns and rifles)
(A radio goes of on a soldier with a red scarf’s radio)
”Come in, Zero. Did you complete the Assignment?”
(The masked man removes his scarf to answer the transmission.)
“Affirmative, but almost everyone got smoked.”
[“Smoked” is a term used by the military to call a kill]
“How Many casualties?” The radio croaked.
I was hesitant as I looked over my shoulder to see the last of my teammates, codenamed Five, have hundreds of bullets go through this body as he fired a few final shots.
“All 10 Members dead, I’m gonna follow them soon.” I responded.
(A brief pause takes place)

“Tell use your location for extraction”. It finally said after a tense moment.
”Not needed, save your men and equipment. I’m under heavy fire and a deadman soon anyway” I said with a half-hearted chuckle.
… “I promise to make sure your family will always be protected and never need money, after all, that’s the least the hero that ended this damn war should get.” It said with a regretful voice.
”I’m Ain’t no hero, but thank you commander.” Was all I could say.
“Thank you for your Service.”
”It was an Honor.”
(Zero turns off the radio as he sits down, with his other hand covering the blood that was coming out of his bullet wound.)
To hell with it, I’m dying. After over 16 years of fighting in this War against Prussia, it looked like I was finally dying at age 34. I managed to complete the Mission that would end this hellhole, but all my comrades died for it, with me soon to follow.
(Zero starts to think back)
“Damn it, if only, I could start over, then I could save all of them.”, I said painfully.
With that, the Soldier and commander of the special operation unit, codenamed “The Numbers”, died on another land, in 2042, with all his past achievements and comrades to be forgotten through history, His family believing he had long ago died.
(Zero, the commander of the Numbers, breathes his last as he dies from blood loss.)
