Back in the warring times Sapphire called for an end to the bloodshed. She had watched as the war tore apart the world. Her observations left her nervous that what they fought for would be lost in the process of winning it & she managed to convince the other kings of this. The only problem was that Black's reason for fighting was different.
Black believed that the war brought out people's potential & drove them to heights that they couldn't have achieved otherwise. So he constructed a plan. He sent out messages to all of the assassins that he had kept hidden to prepare for the conference & for everyone else to prepare for the worst.
Upon arrival Black immediately sought out Sapphire to offer a toast to the future.
"Although I don't agree with your solution, you've accomplished something I thought impossible. You brought us together. So here's to you."
As sapphire brought the glass to her mouth black thrust his hand into sapphires chest. As her corpse fell to the ground Blacks' hands went behind his head to the hilt of his swords Two one & a half handed long swords.
As one hand swung out forcing Blue back, Black's other swung down decapitating the fallen queen of peace. The remaining seven kings alon with their body guards all drew their weapons. For the first time in all of history the 8 true colors joined their forces while trusting each other.
"But they don't trust each other."

"Well this all happened 6,799 years ago. You can hardly expect them to get along for that long."
"How did the kings beat Black?"
"I don't recall saying that they did."
"But they had to dad. They won after all and brought peace to the lands."
"Not all stories end with a happy ever after and this is one of those. Black wasn't defeated. He and Shadow managed to fight their way out. It was 2 on 15 and they still managed to flee putting the other kings to shame."
"But Black can't win."
"Come on now Jack. If you keep interrupting then bedtime will come before the stories over."
Around the time that the conference began Black's assassins stared moving. By the time the kings returned they found 1 in 7 of their high ranking officers assassinated, & that Black's army was gone.
"Doesn't that mean that Black won?"
"Do you really believe that the Armies of Colors let the black hoard just walk away?"
Knowing in advance that there was no way that they could escape without a sacrifice, Black ordered all of his mid ranking soldiers to buy time for the rest of the army to escape. By the time Black & Shadow had escaped the conference the Field of the Braves was drenched in the blood of the fallen. In a mere 40 minutes more people had died then in the average 6 years of war. It was a devastating blow that crippled all of the forces involved, driving an end to the war.
"But I thought that Black wanted the war to continue."
"No son, as I said earlier Sapphire had managed to convince Black that continuing the war would bring an end to the world as they knew it."
When the kings lead their forces home they thought that there would finally be peace. Black however had different plans. He gave control over to his generals & had them lead their forces in all 9 of the lands. Their job was to conduct small but continuous raids on all of the lands in order to force people to always be on their guard. The war was over but the violence remained.
