An hour later, they have finally arrived at San Isidro village. It’s a small village under the province of Surigao del Norte with a population of not more than five hundred people. According to his grandfather, the population of this place before was about a few thousands but because of the dungeons, many had moved out to the nearby cities.
Not only were the lives of those who lived in cities peaceful, there’s also a lot of opportunities and job offers. There’s only one problem, the discrimination between awakened and not awakened were normal. People who had become a hunter would receive reverence, but those unawakened on the other hand would be scorn upon.
In today’s world, corporations, guilds, and association are managed by hunters. And higher positions were not something that an unawakened person could have. The world has now become a place where weak people are preyed upon. Not by demons or beasts, but to awakened people who held both power and wealth.
“You go inside first, I still have orders to make.” Jamal instructed with a gentle smile on his face.
“Er… How about I came with you at the workshop?”
“What? I thought you don’t like becoming a blacksmith? Did you changed your mind?”
“Nah. I just want to spend some time with you while also watching you do the orders.” Ran replied rolling his eyes. He had told his grandfather in the past that he didn’t want to become a blacksmith because they are weak and can’t save them in times of crisis.
But now that he has awakened through a system, he didn’t mind experimenting in his grandfather’s workshop. Just from the system’s name alone, he could already guess what it’s capable of doing.
“Hahahah! There’s no need for you to be shy. Just admit it, I won’t get mad.” Jamal laughed heartily at his grandson, “Lets go! I’ll show you how to make a sharp weapon!”
Since his grandfather was so happy about it, Ran decided to just stay silent. For now, he was excited to see what the system has for him.
The place they’re heading to was just a few meters away from their house. It was his grandfather’s personal workshop and he had been working in this place for about ten years. Now looking at the place, it has now become old and dusty.
“Hey Gramps, this place has become quite old. It won’t be an exaggeration to say that it might get destroyed by a 1.0 magnitude earthquake.”
“That won’t happen, believe me.” Jamal replied with a huge grin. He then entered the workshop together with his grandson.
The inside of the workshop is dimly lit and a size of about 10 square meters. Walking around, Ran realized that there are no fancy decorations and only has some essential tools and equipment for forging. And in the corner, a pile of ores was sitting still varying from iron, copper, and other minerals.
Buzz~
While he was busy inspecting the place, his grandfather noticed that his phone was vibrating. He quickly took it out from his pocket and saw that the person who ordered a batch of sword was calling.
“Yoh Peterzon, why are you calling?”
[Gramps! Bad news! Our Guild Leader wants the sword to be available tomorrow for pick up. There’s an urgent situation coming up and we need the sword ready.]
“What?! How am I suppose to forge the remaining swords that wasn’t yet crafted?! Do you think they will just magically create themselves because I said so?” Jamal furiously shouted with veins bulging on his forehead. The contract he signed days ago clearly states that he’ll finish all swords in 5 days, but only 3 days had passed.

[Please find a way. I’m also in a difficult situation. I will pay you double!]
“Damn it!” Jamal cursed before ending the call. He had only crafted 22 swords at the moment. It was not even 50% of the swords ordered. Even if he work nonstop until tomorrow, he wouldn’t be able to finish everything in time.
“Gramps, is something wrong?” Ran couldn’t help but ask. Seems like something bad happened.
Jamal sighed before telling him everything about the contract and the sudden changed. Normally, crafting a sword would take an hour or more. If the deadline didn’t changed, his grandfather could have finished everything without any problem.
“I will start crafting now. Even if the situation feels hopeless, it’s still better to start doing something done do nothing.” Jamal stated before selecting a hefty chunk of iron ore and throwing them in the forge.
Afterwards, he lit the fire at the right temperature, heating the iron ores until it melted into fierce orange. When everything had softened and ready to be shaped, he quickly pulled the iron from the flames with a long-handled tongs and placed in on the anvil.
Thang! Thang! Thang!
Repeated powerful and practiced strikes echoed in the workshop as the melted iron ores began hardening and shaped into a rough blade. Jamal then reheated the rough sword and hammering it again and again, refining its edges.
Ran that was watching everything happened feels mesmerized. Such laborious work was a testimony of how well refined and muscular his grandfather has become through the years. Seeing how focus his grandfather was in his work, he decided to not disturb him and went to the storage area where the finished product was stored.
Looking at the weapon racks in front of him, his blood couldn’t help but boil. His hand were itchy, and wished he was awakened as a strong hunter so he can kill monsters inside a dungeon. Then a sigh left his mouth, he had already awakened but only as an F rank hunter.
“Doesn’t matter, main characters in novels with a system were always op. Though there are some that has shitty ones.”
After a while, he gently took one sword out of the rack before examining it closely. The sword was about 35 to 45 inches providing a balance between reach and control. Its edges were also meticulously sharpened that just by looking at it he could feel lethal sharpness.
Ding!
A crisp sound echoed in Ran Datu’s head before a system window appear in front of him.
[Sharp Long Sword] (Rare)
- A fine sword with doubled sharpness.
Note: Can be replicated!
“A rare sword?!” Ran exclaimed in shock before covering his mouth. He turned to his grandfather and saw that he’s still hammering, a sigh of relief left his mouth. According to the hunters association, there are five known grades of weapons. Normal, rare, epic, unique, and legendary grade weapons. And his grandfather could craft rare long sword?
Ran’s eyes lit up. If he can replicate his grandfather’s sword, then the deadline that his grandfather was troubling about could be solved in no time. Without wasting any time, he immediately shouted in his mind.
“Replicate!”
Whoosh~
The moment he shouted replicate, he could feel a wave of energy left his body. It feels a bit weird but it didn’t hurt at all.
Ding!
[50 magic power has been deducted!]
[Replication time in progress! Estimated time to finish: 10 minutes.]
Another system window popped up in front of his eyes. Thanks to it, he now have a few basic knowledge about how his skill work. It means, everytime he replicates something, magic power will be consumed and an estimated time will appear.
Ten minutes later, a new notification popped up.
[Sharp Long Sword has been replicated successfully.]
[Replicated item has been sent to your inventory.]
Ran excitedly opened his inventory and there, he saw a card with a sword drawn in it. Taking it out and observing closely, the drawing really looked the same with the replicated long sword. Even the description and name. As for the card, it looks just like a playing card glowing in pink.
“Now what? Don’t tell me all replicated item will become a card?” He asked in confusion. Flipping the card, he saw an instruction written at the back.
Card Usage: Summon type (Replicated Item)
1. Crush the card and the item will be summoned.
2. Replicated and Summoned item can’t be replicated again.
3. Summoned item will be in its summoned state forever.
Ran did as what the instructions say and crushed the card into pieces. The destroyed pieces immediately reassembled themselves but not in a card form but that of a sword. Before long, a brand new sword appeared in his hand that looked exactly the same as the one he replicated.
An indescribable excitement welled in his heart, to think that he really managed to replicate a real sword. Just thinking of his future made him very ecstatic.
“So this thing will forever be in this state and can’t return to its card form. Also, it can’t be replicated again.” Ran muttered with a bitter smile. Still, replication is an op skill in itself. “Well, it can’t be helped.”
With a shrug, he returned the sword his grandfather had crafted to its rack since it can’t be replicated for the second time. And also placed the replicated sword on an empty rack before proceeding in replicating the rest of the sword.
