Uzumaki Naruto got out of bed with a groan. As the events of the previous night went through his head he couldn't help but frown when he remembered what Mizuki sens-. No not Mikuzi sensei. When he remembered what that bastard Mizuki had done.

Usually, he was pretty good with that kind of stuff, being the pranking master of Konoha after all. He couldn't remember when someone had actually managed to trick him.

But the frown on his face quickly changed into a large grin when he remembered how the night had ended. Of course, Iruka sensei had gotten hurt, but that's beside the point. Some of those masked guys had told him he would be good to go by the next day anyway.

What actually mattered was that he had passed. He had passed out of the academy and gotten his headband. He could now pursue his dreams of being a ninja and the Hokage!

He quickly brushed his teeth and took a quick shower before wearing his signature orange tracksuit. He was about to rush out towards the academy but he remembered that today they would be getting assigned their teams. It would suck to be weak and hungry on his first day; so he quickly grabbed the only carton of milk he had left in his fridge and chugged the rest of it before rushing out the door towards the academy.

Naruto quickly got to the academy and entered the room to see he was actually one of the first ones there. He saw that Sasuke - the arrogant bastard - was already there too. He quickly got in his usual seat at the table in the middle of the class, with the Uchiha sitting 2 seats next to him.

Usually, he would try to teach the bastard a lesson but for some reason, he didn't feel quite up to it today. His stomach felt really uncomfortable and he was starting to think that drinking the rest of that carton of milk hadn't been the best idea.

Naruto put his head down and tried not to focus on the bubbling pain in his stomach.

Unfortunately, his peace was interrupted by the Uchiha-teme(bastard).

"Hey dumbass, what are you doing here? Don't you know you need to pass the academy exam to be a genin?" Asked Sasuke with surprising curiosity. He had never really seemed interested in anyone other than himself before.

"Can't you see the headband teme? I passed the exam another way so I'm a genin too," mumbled Naruto without his usual energy due to the pain in his stomach.

The Uchiha just replied with, "Hn" acting disinterested even though he had asked the question.

Slowly the rest of the class started to fill in as the other students that had managed to pass the exam entered the room.

The class settled into a nervous chatter as the newly appointed genin talked about what it would be like to be a ninja and who they would be given as their sensei's.

The atmosphere was broken however when a rumbling noise drew closer and closer to the room.

Everyone raised their heads to see a herd of kunoichi running towards the table Naruto and Sasuke were sitting on. At the head of the crowd were two girls, one with bubblegum pink hair who was wearing a red sleeveless qipao. The other girl had dark blond hair and was wearing a purple blouse with a purple skirt to match.

They roughly pushed each other until the girl with the pink hair, Haruno Sakura, managed to get in front.

"Goodmorning Sakura-chan," Naruto said as he usually did, even with the pain in his stomach.

"Move you dumbass I want to sit next to my Sasuke-Kun," she snarled as she elbowed past him to sit in the middle of him and Sasuke.

Naruto couldn't help but curse the Uchiha-teme under his breath for taking the attention of the girl of his dreams.

But was she still the girl of his dreams? Now that he knew about the nine-tails would it even be possible for any girl to like him?

Quickly clearing his head of the negative thoughts, he sat up in his seat when he heard the door open and saw Iruka sensei step in. Today was his big day and no way was he going to stay sad through it.

“Alright class, quiet down,” said Iruka as walked to the front of the room.

Unfortunately almost no one stopped talking which caused a small scowl to form on Iruka’s face.

“I SAID STOP TALKING,” Shouted Iruka to which the whole class immediately stopped talking and went back to their seat. ‘Ha I still got it’ thought Iruka and tried not to let a smile break out on his face.

“Alright now that I have your attention we can finally get into your new teams,” said Iruka as he went on the list teams 1 through 6.

“Alright next will team 7. It will be Uzumaki Naruto, Uchiha Sasuke, and Hyuuga Hinata under Hatake Kakashi.”

“WHATTTT why do I the great Uzumaki Naruto have to be on the same team with that arrogant bastard.” Interpreted Naruto with anger.

“Because Naruto you have the worst grades in the whole class while Sasuke had the best. We put you both on the same so you could balance each other out,” said Iruka calmly while Naruto's face fell at being reminded of his grades.

Sasuke smirked at Naruto to which Naruto responded with a glare but didn’t argue because he didn’t want to get in trouble with Iruka sensei.

“Now to continue where I left off before I was interrupted,” Iruka said, shooting a glance at Naruto which he ignored. “Team 8 will be Aburame Shino, Inuzuka Kiba, and Haruno Sakura under Yuhii Kurenai. Team 9 is already in circulation under the name Team Guy; so next will be Team 10 including Nara Shikamaru, Akimichi Choji, and Yamanaka Ino under Sarutobi Asuma. Now that you know your teams please wait until your sensei’s arrive so they can give you further instructions.” Finished Iruka as the jonin sensei’s started to call their teams out into the hallway.

“And team 7 you might have to wait a little longer for your sensei, I’m pretty sure he’ll be running late,” said Iruka with a smile on his face as he walked out of the room.
