After walking through the portal I felt a slight chill go down my spine as my body felt cold to the touch. Looking around us I could see that we were in front of a giant abandoned warehouse.

The two of us then walk into the warehouse where it is dimly lit by a flickering light. I couldn't help but feel a little tense since we usually took our jobs in the daytime and rarely if ever did we take jobs at night. Dad or mom usually took those jobs but seeing as how both of them are away on a "business" trip they left the shop in our care.

Olivia: "Are you alright little brother?"

The boy then pulls out a golden helmet that looked like some kind of old relic and was oddly familiar. I started to walk towards the boy to receive the package when the cat suddenly hisses as the sounds of glass shatter behind us and smoke fills the air blinding our field of vision.

Olivia: "Smoke bombs."

Axel: "You don't say."

Olivia: "Remember clear your mind and concentrate on your strikes."

Axel: (Mutters) "Thanks mom."

I reach behind my back and grab my sword and swing it around my whole body doing a complete 360 spin, clearing the smoke in my immediate vicinity. Looking around the room I saw Olivia with Griffon perched on her shoulder and Shadow circling her feet as we both were trying to asses the situation.

???: "Ok! Now nobody moves a muscle and you won't go home in a stretcher!"

As the smoke finally cleared I saw a cloaked figure in front of me wearing a black cape accompanied by red and yellow. On the right of him was a boy with a red skin-tight suit who wore no shoes, to the left of him was a boy wearing a black t-shirt giant "S", there was also this weird kid wearing googles who was wearing yellow and red with a lightning bolt on the front of his chest. looking towards the windows I see a girl in green with a bow and a girl with green skin levitating in the air. Then out of thin air, a girl wearing some sort of magician outfit appeared.

I pull out my guns Testament and Judgement aim them at the interlopers.

Axel: "Well! Well! Well! Looks like we got a real Mexican standoff here!"

Googles-wearing kid: "Yeah right we outnumber you 7 to 2."

Axel: "Heh, then it is a fair fight."

I then look to Olivia as she nods her head.

Axel: "Alright this party's getting crazy, LETS ROCK!"

And with that Olivia's red hair suddenly turned white as Nightmare had come busting through the roof as a meteor.

Girl With Bow: "Great, another magic-user."

Boy with S t-shirt: "(Cracks knuckles) I call big and ugly."

Boy with water suit: "Superboy, Miss Martian, and Kid Flash will take the girl and her familiars. Robin and I will take the boy while Zatana and Artemis get The Helmet of Fate from K-"

As I rushed towards the two everything around me started to slow down as time slowly came to a crawl.

I then walk up to Aqualad and Robin and can't help but laugh at their vulnerability. I then move the two together and move their arms so that they end up hitting each other in the face with their weapons.

I then move over to Olivia who seems to have her hands full with the rest of the team. Looking up I see the girl with green skin using her telekinesis powers to lift rocks from the surrounding area.

Looking at Superboy I can tell why he's their heavy hitter the dude's jacked and he looks like he could tear my army off with one good pull.

Moving over to Kid Flash who surprisingly enough looks like he's moving through my stopped time.

Axel: "Ohhhh so your a speedster well that makes things simple enough."

This guy was wearing one of those typical skin-tight superhero suits that cover your whole body, which means I have more to work with.

Axel: "Ooooh! Your gonna regret wearing that suit for a while."

I then give the young speedster the biggest wedgie in the universe as I can visibly see his eyes moving around as they are the only part of his body that can move at a normal rate within my stopped time. The funny thing is his eyes looked like they were going to pop out with the amount of pain he was feeling.

Axel: "I definitely need to start using this more often."

I then look to my watch and see that I've used my ability for a full 30 seconds, which is pretty good seeing as how this is my fourth time using this thing.

Axel: "And now time resumes."

As time resumed Aqualad and Robin hit each other in the face, knocking them away from each other, Superboy goes flying across the room as Nightmare fires a huge laser beam at him, Miss Martian is pulled safely towards the mattress underneath her, and Kid Flash is on the floor groaning as he covers his no no square.

Axel: "And that ladies and gentlemen is how you get a strike, you alright there Olivia?"

Olivia and I then turn to our left to see Artemis and Zatana standing with their weapons in hand ready to fight.

Zatanna: "Your father worked with the Justice League on multiple occasions for demon exterminations and containments... for a high fee of course."

Artemis: "Which begs the question why are people who work with him working with a demon to steal The Helmet of Fate."

Axel: "The what now?"

Olivia: "The Helmet of Fate Brother, it is said that it belongs to one of the Lords of Order Specifficaly Dr. Fate one of the members of the Justice League."

Aqualad: "That is correct and we must return it to its rightful owner."

I then turn around to see Aqualad and the rest of his team getting up from the floor and approach me and Olivia from behind.

Axel: "Wait a sec Justice League, I don't know what's going on here but I did not sign up for this."

Robin: "Aqualad, It seems to me like these two didn't know about the Helmet belonging to Fate and must have been contracted to take it somewhere."

Kid Flash: "Yea but the thing is... Who exactly were they contracted by?"

The team of young superheroes then turn to me and Olivia for answers and I can't help but feel that we just got duped. Plus I didn't see that guy they called Klairon anywhere in the room is it possible that he could move during my stopped time?

Axel: " Well, he did have a certain air about him and had a heavy British accent."

Superboy: "Oh great Vertigo's got it."

Axel: "Who now?"

Robin: "Count Vertigo heir to the throne of Vlatvla and one of the members of the Light."

Axel: "Ok, but what does this have to do with us?"

Aqualad: "You and your associate here are going to help us track down the Count and retrieve the Helmet of Fate."
