1 Hour Until Initiation

F/N POV:

It was about 6 in the morning when you decided to wake up early and train for a bit while listening to some tunes on your Mp3. You had found yourself a secluded spot out by a hill and decided to take a break to watch the beautiful sunrise when you heard someone walk up from behind.

F/N: "Who's there?"

You draw out JD MK III and turn around as you see Ruby standing amongst the trees.

F/N: "Oh It's just you Ruby."

You plant your weapon in the ground and turn your music down as you wave to her. She was still in he pajamas but had slippers on and a jacket.

F/N: "Gimme a warning next time would ya."

Ruby: "Sorry if I startled you F/N I just wanted to watch the sunrise, it just looks so beautiful from here."

F/N: "Sure does can't get a view like back home that's for sure."

Ruby: "Speaking of which where are you from?"

F/N: "Well I used to live in Haven with my parents, but after dad left mom and I both needed... a change of pace."

You look down and turn away from Ruby looking out to the sunrise.

F/N: "So we moved to the Vale mom got a job at Signal, and I would do some odd jobs here and there and pick up as many shifts as I could to help mom out."

Ruby: "It sounds like you've had it pretty rough."

F/N: "Not really, I don't have it as bad or the Faunus or the people of Vacuo I'm just thankful to be where I am now."

Ruby: "F/N... If you don't mind me asking what was your dad like?"

F/N: "You know normally I would've ended the conversation if someone brought up my dad, but I feel like I can trust you so I'll answer your question."

Ruby perks up and sends a barrage of questions at you.

Ruby: "What was his fighting style and semblance!?, What's was his name!?", Do you know where he is!?"

F/N: "Hold on Firecracker I'm only answering one of those questions."

Ruby:" AWWWW!"

F/N: "Alright well you asked what he was like well, he could be very cold and anti social. Not to mention he was extremely lazy and didn't like putting in the effort when it came to doing stuff. But... he cared deeply about mom enough to marry her and have a kid so there's that."

Ruby: "Did he train you?"

F/N: "Yea and it was pure hell?"

You lift up your shirt to reveal some scars.

F/N: "I remember this one time when I was nine and he left me on a "deserted" island for a whole month he said that I needed to learn to rely on myself more. I say "deserted" because the island was actually full of Grimm."

Ruby: "Oh my Oum, and your mom approved?!"

F/N: "(Laughs) Hell no she was furious when I came back all beaten and bruised. Apparently, dad told her that we were going on a camping trip, and when I came back with bruises and he didn't she knew something was up. Let's just say that after that particular incident he never did anything like that again."

F/N: "Yea we were... but that's all in the past just gotta keep moving forward you know."

Ruby: "Yea, I guess so but I think that based on what you told me it sounds like he cared about you a lot even if his methods were questionable. So wherever he is I think he's thinking about you and your mom."

F/N: "Who knows, maybe he'll come back one day, though he's gonna have to have one helluva reason as to why he left.....You know oddly enough it feels nice getting this off my chest, so thanks, Ruby."

Ruby: "(blushes)I'm just trying to be a good friend."

Looking at your scroll you see that it's almost time for the initiation to start.

F/N: "Well that's enough walking down memory lane for one day time to get this show on the road."

Timeskip To Breakfast, 20 minutes before initiation

Ruby POV:

Yang: "Damn! F/N how can you eat all that food?"

F/N: "I'm a growing boy you know, and a growing boy has an ever-growing appetite."

Ruby: "Yea but... did you really need to eat that much?"

Jaune, Yang, Blake, F/N, and I were waiting together and next to F/N was a pile of at least 30 plates of food and three cartons of orange juice.

Jaune: "Hey did you guys hear that one of the new first years here is from the Sacred Order of Holy Knights and that he's apparently a prodigy?"

F/N: "You mean those self-righteous douchebags."

Jaune: "Hey, I think those guys are pretty cool plus I heard that only the best of swordsmen are let in."

Ruby: "And they fight for Grimm justice and the betterment of everyone."

F/N: "(Raises hands in defense) Call me skeptical, but I don't trust people who are being ordered around by a bunch of priests who claim to carry out the will of some God of light and happen to have higher power than even the council of each kingdom."

Blake: "I agree with F/N on this, for a religious group to have that much power and authority it just doesn't seem right."

F/N: "Personally I'd like to be able to ask them what their deal is and what their true motives are."

???"And who would this little angel be?"

The boy was now standing in front of me and had his hand out, and it felt like his beautiful blue eyes were staring into the depths of my soul.

Ruby: "(Blushes) O-Oh a-are you talking to m-me?"

???: "Of course." He kneels and grabs my hand and KISSES IT OH MY OUM. If I may could I know your name?"

Ruby:"R-Ruby, R-Ruby, Rose."

???: "Such a beautiful name Miss Rose my name is Akira Kiske." He then reaches into his pocket and hands me a ROSE.

F/N: "Alright I think that's enough outta you Mr. Pretty Boy."

F/N gets up and stands between me and Akira and now everyone in the cafeteria was staring at the two.

Akira: "And who are you exactly?"

F/N: "Buddy trust me you don't wanna find out."

Akira: "(Laughs) I'm sorry but have I committed some sort of offense."

Yang: "F/N cool it will ya the guy seems harmless."

F/N: "Hold on Yang, I'll back off after he answers me this, what exactly is the member of the Holy Order doing here, aren't you guys too busy serving your God of Light or something."

Akira: "I'm simply here as a student just like yourself and willing to learn more in order to help serve the world."

F/N: "Bullshit, I highly doubt someone like you would be here just to play school."

Akira: "Tell you what you make it past initiation and maybe I'll teach you how to treat ladies with some proper care and respect."

F/N: "WHY YOU-"

Blake: "Enough F/N."

we all turned our heads as we were surprised that Blake suddenly spoke up against F/N no less.

F/N: "Tch."

Akira: "I'd listen to your friend if I were you... Gear."

F/N: "(Angrily) The hell is that supposed to mean?!"

Akira: "You'll know in due time, in any event, it's time I took my leave It was truly a pleasure meeting you Miss Rose."

He bows and takes his leave as the whole lunchroom watches him walk out.

F/N: "Blake what was that for?"

Blake: "I get that your suspicious of him and think he's bad news but it's the first day there's no point in trying to make any unnecessary enemies."

F/N: "If you knew about all the shit they've done then you wouldn't be so gung-ho around them."

Yang: "What are you talking about?" F/N just shook his head.

F/N: "(Sighs) I'll tell you guys only after we all pass the initiation."
