A nameless individual groans in pain. (A chefs hat is on the table nearby along with old rusted swords on the walls)
"I hope our son can grow up to be an adventurer and make us proud."
Flashback 2 years ago of discovering he has a "grey" element, when people are tested for elements they can glow.
Fire = Red, Dark = Black, Yellow = Light, Blue = Water, Earth = Brown, Air = white.
"His an abomination, descended from that damned warlock!"
His family threw him out on the streets.
Uther looks up at the sky and thinks.
"Damn this cursed bloodline"
A hundred years ago there was a necromancer who had inherited 2 elements and was the strongest sorcerer in the land, he was finally slain by a gallant knight.
This same sorcerer was discovered due to the fact that his elemental flame shone grey showing a light and dark affinity.
The child looks around the empty alleyways, due to lack of food all that he sees are rotting skeletons.
The food shortage became so dire that the townspeople took to eating monster meat, however over consumption corrupts them and turns them into monsters themselves.
Eating monster meat was then outlawed.
He collapsed due to exhaustion waking up to a merchant ushering him into a cave.
Slave trader: "Oh ho ho you wont be the best merchandise but beggars cant be choosers!"
This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.
Slave trader: "What is your name?"
Boy: "Uther"
Slave trader: "Splendid, splendid! we will say you're the illegitimate son of the king to raise your price!"
From then on I was left rotting in my cage, I could not let see the outside world until he came.
My vision was blurred due to exhaustion/lack of food.
Alchemist Olok Liumas (merchant) approaches.
Merchant: "That one"
Slave trader: "Pleasure doing business with you!"
Looks down at tattered rags with giant metal collar attached to chain.
Merchant: "Now i was told you are the kings royal blood and I am looking to make a pretty penny selling mana crystals."
Mana crystals are semi rare precious gems that can be imbued with the users mana and the element they possess, their basic look is that of a grey gem.
He had me every day imbuing crystals but they would never change appearance.
Merchant: "Bah i paid good money for you, you better make it worth my while!"
Merchant: "Maybe you do not have enough mana."
Hands a mana increase potion (lasts 1 minute) I and mana restoration potion I.
Merchant: "Drink these".
I gulped down the disgusting drinks and saw blue glowing tendrils crawling up my arm.
Merchant: "Now imbue this crystal!"
I place my hand on top of the crystal and begin, to the merchants shock it was beginning to show all 6 elements expanding through the middle of the gem, however after 1 minute of focussing my mana was depleted and i was exhausted.
He made me do this 6 more times giving me potions everytime to complete the crystal, so much so that my whole body had started to glow blue.

Merchant: "That will be enough for today, these crystals sell for 5 gold each and these potions weren't cheap."
He had me do this for 1 week straight until that faithful night our wagon was attacked by hobgoblins.
Merchant: "Get away you beasts"
The merchant even though a master alchemist was not very good at fighting.
They were destroying the roof when the alchemist had to use his trump card.
"You! slave! take this sword and save me!"
He takes out a cauldron full of water and chants.
~With witch's brew and potions 10 rejuvenation, restoration, augmentation, POTION AURA~
With that an aura appears around me and the merchant filling me with power.
However due to me not having any training or skills in fighting when i swing my sword against the hobgoblin it simply bounces off.
I watch as the hobgoblin proceeds to maul the merchant, I flee with a small sack of supplies to the west.
Now i'm alone again.
