[[3rd person POV]]
In the year of 2020, Virtual reality has been released, and the newest game released was Rise of Legends. Otherwise known as RL. Troy, a young man at the age of 19, was, like so many others, extremely excited for the game. He knew exactly what he wanted to play. Unlike many others, Troy was of...not so common birth.
His family was extremely rich, and the last time he bothered to check his own personal saving from his allowance, he had a few million dollars. He took many lessons on fighting, with real life combat tests, and he also was pretty smart as well, usually in the top of his classes. If there was one thing he was bad at, it would be voicing his opinions. He was a follower.
When his parents heard him say "Can I play this game?", his mother fainted and his father cried for hours. Troy just simply asked his personal butler, who then proceeded to bawl as he ordered a virtual capsule from a very confused phone operative.
As the day came, Troy studied as much as he could about the game, learning as much as he could. From what he could tell, it was a game with no bounds. The NPC's had an AI so advanced that they were deemed 99.99% human, and could feel emotions just as well as you could, and there were no limits on what could be created, no restrictions on adventure and everything to do.
At least the advertisment said that. Troy had wondered what he should do for his playthrough. He didn't really want to look up what classes there were, so he just decided to wait.
Soon enough the game was launched on June 1st, the day after schooling was out. Developers decided this was a good idea since more people could play the game. Troy got in his capsule and entered Rise of Legends.
[[Troy POV]]
{Welcome player, to Rise of Legends! Please proceed to make your character!}
I heard a voice as I got into the game. I was very excited to play the game, seeing as I could do anything I wanted in a fantasy world. I could even become a streamer and record my playthrough! My parents were...more than happy to let me play the game and they even said I could skip the next school year. I knew I could, especially since I was a few grades past my actual grade.
Letting that thought go, I checked my options. {warrior}, {Mage}, {Rouge}, and {Priest} were the normal ones and there was one more. It was a very interesting option listing it as {Random}. A little warning was next to it.
{WARNING: Picking random will give you an evolving class that doesn't play like a normal class. It will be a legendary class that won't upgrade into a higher class, as it's already at it's highest. It is unique and there will only be you playing this class. The more you play it and do certain quests, the stronger your class will become. You will be locked into this class as well, and your primary class will always be this class.}
I read it over carefully, before deciding to leave my fate to the system. I knew at the very least it won't be too bad, considering it's a legendary class. I clicked {random} and watched a little wheel pop up and spin itself. It spun and spun before slowing down. I saw three spaces where it could land on. {Fallen angel} and {Hero} were two very big spaces and a smaller space had {???} put into it. The wheel slowed down more and more, before landing on the three question marks.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
"What the hell? What is that?"
And as the saying goes, ask and you shall receive, a noise resembling a jackpot sound rang as another little text popped up.
{CONGRATS! You have obtained a mythical class {Necromancer}! You can revive the dead, summon armies, and even make new undead into the game! Check the class itself for more info!}
"...Oh. I see." I said as I proccessed the information. I just chuckled a bit, considering how lucky I was. I decided not to waste time and open up my class info.
{Necromancer - As the fight rages and my enemies grow weary, I only laugh and grow. Fear my power, fear the dead.
Adds the skills: {Create undead}, {Fuse}, {Absorb life}, {Aura of Death (passive)} and {Control undead}.
Adds the titles: {One who defies death} and {Master of the dead}.}
"Well isn't that a doozy." I said as I checked my skills and title effects.
{Create undead - Makes an undead that you can customize from surrounding death aura, bones and flesh. Stats are dependent on what is made. Costs mana dependent on what is made. Cannot create undead worth more than maximum mana. No cooldown.}
{Fuse - Can sacrifice one undead to empower another and permanetly increase their stats. Can only be used 2 times a day. 2/2. Costs 100 mana. No cooldown.}
{Absorb life - Drain 5% of targets maximum HP, unless it's a boss, in which case drains 2% maximum HP. Costs 20 mana. 10 second cooldown.}
{Aura of Death (Passive) - You drain 2 HP every second from all living creatures within 10 meters of you.)
{Control Undead - Control undead equal or lower your level with a 20% chance from undead equal to your level.}
{One who defies death - Once per 24 in game hours, you will not die from reaching 0 HP, and come back to 50% max HP}
{Master of the dead - You can command undead that are higher level than you. Succes rate drops the more levels undead have than you.}
"Okay then. That doesn't seem too broken, unless there's some hidden things in those descriptions I'm not seeing. Anyways, how about stats?"
{Name: Not decided
Level: 1
Class: Necromancer
HP: 100
MP: 300
Stamina: 10
Strength: 5
Dexterity:10
Willpower: 30
Charisma: 5
Luck: 5
"Hmmm...My willpower seems quite high, and my charisma and strength are low...Must be from my class. Well..."
{Please select a name and proceed to pick a starting location.}
Not getting a break to think huh? Fuck it, I'll go with one of my favorites.
"Big Dong Daddy"
{Are you sure you want to be called: Big Dong Daddy? It's...kinda stupid...and you'll be stuck with this...ALL GAME}
...Did the fucking text box just...criticize me?
"Uhhh...yes, it was a joke, and two, do you understand me, or am I hallucinating?"
{Good, What will be your ACTUAL name, and yes I can. I am an advanced AI, why wouldn't I be?}
"Got it. My actual name will be Crusafix, and nice to know. I'd like to start in a village where undead can spawn nearby, and if that isn't ok, then one with low amounts of players, and quick respawning mobs."
{Understood. If you want to talk to me at any time, not like you asked but you do seem interesting, then pray to the goddes Eve, goddess of the moon. You will start in a village known as Crone Village. It has low players, due to difficulty and undead. have fun!}
Eve said as I blacked out. One thing I realized is that I'm going to look exactly as I do irl, which I don't really mind. As I blacked out, I wondered what I want to do in Rise of Legends. I decided I'll take it one step at a time, and see what happens.
Oh boy, little did I know that my story was going to start off with a bang.
