POV - Elise

My name is Elise Worthiness, 30 years old, black hair, black eyes, 5"8 and quite thin although I think I am relatively good proportions. I am a daughter of the CEO of , a games company that is releasing a game called in a few hours. is a VRMMORPG (the first of its kind) being released into the public this Friday and me and my husband Derek Worthiness (32, 6"2, blonde hair, blue eyes, extremely toned but not bulky mainly because of all the martial arts his father made him learn, his father was a dojo owner) are waiting for the arrival of a coffin like capsules to be able to access the game. Now, you may be wondering why I mentioned online one when there is two of us, that is because only our daughter is playing the game and we will only be monitoring her and carrying on with our daily lives. You may be wondering why we don't play with her instead of monitoring her, that’s because she wants to play for a month before we join as she wants some time to make friends and she figures we will be trying to play with her in-game. Of course we will give her space, but we will want to see her as often as possible like we do here in the real world. She tried to get us to give her three months but when we explained that there is a time difference from real time to game time of 1:3 she agreed to only one month real time. You may be wondering why we want to monitor her when we could just let her have fun... Simple, let me tell you about how we found her on a camping trip...

***FLASHBACK***10 YEARS EARLIER***2024***

Me and Derek had just met a year or so back so we hadn't gotten married yet and I was still named Elise Leibhen, odd name but our family was originally foreign to America so you can blame me (also the reason I took Derek's name, even though he wanted me to keep mine). My grandfather, the original founder of and before they started work on had just died after announcing they were going to go all out on making the new game. That was a week ago and he had died of a heart attack (he had a terrible diet). Because of this Derek suggested we get away but do something outdoors and me quite liking nature decided to go with camping in the New Forest in the UK, so we took a flight and decided to go camping there. After arriving at the forest and speaking to a man just leaving he mentioned to be on the lookout of a child in the forest, apparently people have stopped coming to these parts because there has been rumours of others hearing a child during their stay and stolen property the morning after hearing the sounds. Of course I mentioned to Derek that we should be look to see if we find anyone but he believes it a rumour. Don't blame him.

So we ignore it and head through the forest and eventually it starts raining, mind you it was meant to be nice weather tonight so we are confused. Unsure of what to do and not having our tents up we decide to stray off path to find a tree or some bushes to hide under for the rain to stop or at least get weaker. Eventually we find a small hole at the bottom of a little hill covered in bushes, I wouldn't have noticed if not for the bushed being pushed out of the way because of the rain. We get closer and try to crawl in and stay there for a while. After an hour or so we start hearing noises, nothing like growling or anything, kind of like breathing so we go to investigate.

This little hole wasn't very large, only the small hole we came through and then a corner and a small area filled with blankets. Confused we moved the blankets and find a girl no more than 5 or 6 laying there with nothing but some shorts on, her upper body looks like it has scars all over it as if she has been tortured or something and she has this unusually long snow white hair and pail skin with what are more claws than nails. After a minute of watching her sleep she gets cold and starts to wake up, by this time though Derek has called my father and asked to send the police and an ambulance to where we are in the forest, of course he has a gps in his phone so he was going to use that to send them here. After yawning some and a bit of shivering she looks around for her blanket, which we moved and finally notices us. We were not expecting her to show such fear towards us, she immediately grabs the blanket we were holding, covers herself and curls into a ball as if protecting herself and not removing her gaze from us for a second. Not knowing what to do we try talking to her?

Me - "It's alright, I won't hurt you. We are going to help, do you have a name?"

Child - "..."

Derek - "We won't hurt you; we just want to make sure you aren't hurt or anything? Is it alright if we check your body for injuries?

Child - "Chris"

Me - "Chris huh? Well, would it be alright to check your body? We also have a heater *grabs heater and turns on*"

Chris - *shock* "warm" *stare*

She seemed amazed at the sudden warmth, and just stared at it until she took off her blanket pointed at me then herself while glaring at Derek. I actually think I saw him flinch from her glare which would be amazing because he is quite the tough nut and has only cowered before my father before. So I slowly get closer and start inspecting her body. I'm amazed, she is completely clean as if she has been washing herself regularly and has quite the muscle for someone so young, of course not much but it seemed quite a lot though. I thought I would try hugging her to keep her warm, so I put her on my lap and put my arms around her waist. She seemed shocked and tried to get away which was hard to keep her from getting out, she was quite strong. Eventually she noticed I wasn't hurting and stopped struggling.

Chris - "Warm, like family."

I was shocked but decided to ask why she was here.

Me - "Why are you here in this forest? Why aren't you with your family?"

Chris - "Uncle Attack mom, mom resist, uncle angry and hurt mom, mom tell me run away. Here I am, mom not move anymore and uncle same as her, I bury them and live here."

By this point I am almost crying, and hug her tighter. Ask her to explain where her dad was and why uncle attacked her mom. So she starts to explain how her uncle hated her for being born because her uncle loved her mom and because her father died in a car accident when she was two according to her mom, her uncle took advantage of it and locked her up and forced her mom to love him as he said to her. For almost 4 years she was underfed and stuck in that cold room, being hurt by her uncle by different things like rods, knifes cigarettes and various other things. Eventually her mom found her and they tried to run away but her uncle came back too soon and then everything else is self-explanatory. By time she finishes and we all cry a little we hear the sound of voices outside and convince her to come with us. so she agrees and we crawl out followed by her and something we hadn't noticed before... A stuffed bear almost bigger and heavier than her, but she was moving it with ease and even carrying on her back after we got out. She also opened up the backpack on the bears back and took out an apple and started eating. After that time passed by like a blur, from her getting checked up, telling her where she buried the bodies of her mom and uncle and what happened to them eventually letting us adopt her as our daughter (with her approval). It had taken a month in total but we got back home and was currently taking her to greet her new grandfather at the company office as he was still going through paperwork after my grandfather’s death. We also had gotten her new clothes while in the UK, consisting of sweatshirts, dressed, underwear, lounge-wear, and even a cute bear and tiger onesie. She was currently wearing the onesie. She simply was amazed by everything she saw and was asking us millions of questions which even when given a difficult explanation understood and even asked counter questions like when we explained the purpose of the police station we drove by she asked why it had bad defences. Obviously we asked what she meant and she explained that there was three different points just in the front of the building where someone could sneak in and it even had several points on surrounding buildings and how they could enter the building through the roof as such. We were astonished and asked how she knew and asked us if it wasn't obvious and even asked if they couldn't just tell from looking? After that we kind of just shrugged it off and left it be and kept answering her questions with a few weird ones every now and then. She even asked what the radio was playing and when we explained what a radio, cd and music was and said she could sing to the music she asked to finish listening then restart the song which after it ended and she started singing it was as if everything was natural to her. Luckily we weren't driving other we would have crashed (currently in limo) as she had a beautiful voice. When we asked where she learned to sing so well she said her mom was a musician and taught her a few instruments and how to sing after she sang when she was allowed to visit once when she was four. Again completely baffled by how smart and amazing she was, we decided to leave her be and just chalk it up to her being a natural and try not to be surprised anymore. Eventually we arrived at the 5 floor tall building (at the time) and walked right up to my father’s office while holding Chris's hand. {Note: They found her full name was Christina Angel, now Christina Worthiness} We obviously got many glances, especially Chris as she was wearing a black eye patch (seems her uncle slashed at her right eye one time and she lost her sight in it) but mainly because of her white hair and the arctic wolf onesie she was wearing that made a really weird match. Getting to his office, knocking and entering we see a forty year old grey and black haired man, black eyes and about the same height and build as Derek but an inch taller. When he sees us he smiles and then notices Chris and I think I saw his eyes sparkle from her cuteness, something I hadn't seen since I was 12 and I started maturing (my father loves cute things). He stands up and walks over to us, surprisingly Chris isn't scared at all from his natural as people call it, making most fear him on first meetings but actually looks as if sizing him up.

Eugenie - "Hello my daughter *hug* {Her father and grandfathers name is Eugenie} Derek *shakes hand*" He then crouches down to Chris's height and goes to shake her hand and introduces himself when she actually grasps it "Hello Chris, my name is Eugenie but you can just call me gramps or something, its a pleasure to meet you"

Chris - "Nice to meet you, grandfather, my name is Christina but you can call me Chris" *grips his hand hard*

I think I almost see him wince from the grip, just how strong is she. After that we move to the soft and have a chat, mainly about things like what shes seen so far and what she thinks of the company. He we just as amazed as we were when she started singing at his request and even had some people outside the door listening as we heard clapping afterwards and notice the door slightly ajar. Eventually he explains his work to her and surprisingly she asks to see some of these he was on about, he wasn't sure at first but gave in and showed her some of the math he was doing on a note pad and the documents that go with it. She looks everything over for a while and frowns, thinking she didn't understand I was going to tell her I would teach her eventually but she speaks first.

Chris - "Wrong, the numbers on your document don't add up, you are missing a couple of thousand in one or two equations compared to others"

US - "What?"

My grandfather then asks to explain where and once she does he notices it, surprising us all when he actually agrees with what she said and went into work mode mumbling about missing three thousand dollars. Eventually figuring it out he comes over and pats her on the head thanking and telling her good job. She seemed to love the head patting as she looked sad as it stopped but then I had to ask how she figured it out.

Me - "Honey, how you figured it out? You are only 6, it should be really hard?"

Chris - "Mom gave me books whenever she came and she would get harder ones every time, I didn't understand most but maths seemed really easy to me, along with music. I just used some equations in the book"

On that day me and my future husband decided our daughter was a genius and decided to help her however she needed to use her full abilities.

***FLASHBACK END***2034***

Now you have a rundown, it’s about time I explain that today is April 3th 2034 and a Monday. Today Chris was starting school, although the middle of the year and turning 16 on Thursday 6th. This reason she hasn't attended school till now was because of all the tutoring she has gotten from regular school work, to all kinds of martial arts ranging from regular boxing and kung fu to things like ninjutsu and kendo (we found out she has an eidetic memory). She also was busy with some of the work at but it was mainly conversation and testing rather than anything like programming or finance (which she could have done after we introduced her to computers, she even built her own). But her maid Maddie convinced us she should be hanging around people her own age and go to school and join clubs, so we agreed, ended all her tutors for martial arts for a while which they agreed on the condition they follow certain routines they will email us (they are all obsessed with her and how quick she picks things up, even combined some styles and showed them to her teachers). Oh, I haven't introduced her personal maid Maddie or Madeline Worthiness. She almost looks like a 20 year old me (she is 20) if it wasn't for a few features like being 5"10 and having blue eyes and a more chiselled face, if it wasn't for her body she would look like a man with her hair cut short and her looks. When Chris was eleven and allowed to go to town alone (or at least she thought she was), she had found a girl lying in an alley almost starving and wearing a maid uniform. After checking she was alive she brought her to us where we nursed her back to health, apparently she lost her job and as she was an orphan was living on the streets. So we adopted her but she refused to be classified as Chris's sister and said that she would be her personal maid, we were reluctant at first but she acted as her maid even though we refused so we gave her some money for anything she needed for her job and paid her a regular wage with food and accommodation, she even learnt cooking just to make Chris's meals and learnt martial arts and attended Chris's lessons so they wouldn't need bodyguards for her anymore. She would only think about Chris and if it in any way hurt Chris, made her sad or even think she was in the wrong about something, Maddie would almost kill them. One time after seeing Chris getting hurt by her Muai Thai Master she attacked him and almost killed him. After that it was a rule not to get involved unless necessary but she did start excessively glaring at people after that rule but has toned it down a bit.

Anyway, it was 6 am and Chris was getting ready extra early to make sure she wasn't late; Maddie was helping her get ready while she also got ready herself. Somehow she convinced the principal to be a teacher’s assistant to all classes Chris was in, but only those (sometimes she is really scary how she gets her way with everything). After she got ready she came out in some clothes Maddie prepared and GOD my daughter is gorgeous. She was wearing a black long sleeve shirt, a blood red denim sleeveless jacket, a blood red tie, a cyan scarf, and her regular XL eye-patch, blood red earmuffs that work as headphones, a cyan flower hair piece and black skinny jeans with blood red converse. We also noticed over the years that she hates short hair, along with cutting it so it was excessively long and large and had part of it straight down her back, two pieces up in a pigtails and had part of her hair cover her eye-patch. She also had a cherry lollipop so we knew she had to have been given it as a reward for allowing her hair to be done. Also over the years she hasn't really gotten much taller, so she is only 5 feet tall. But she does have good proportions for her size, I believe she was almost a c cup but I don't buy her clothes anymore so am unsure.

Me and Derek - "Wow, you look brilliant!"

Maddie - "Why wouldn't she? Humph, she is the perfect person!"

Maddie was wearing a black vest behind a white shirt, on top she was wearing a black wool vest above the white shirt, she had white suspenders holding up her black chinos, white leather shoes, she had a piece of black cloth tied around her neck (she won't tell us where she got it but we believe she used Chris's old clothes), had heart earrings Chris gave her for a birthday present and also a phone Chris gave her to use for work. Because Chris wasn't old enough to have a company she put it in Maddie's name and keeps it as a hobby but she did invest in a lot of shares and opened a coffee and cake shop nearby where she spends most of her time, it is actually close to her school so it is normally packed with school girls. We also noticed that over the years Maddie would have open hostility to anyone not Chris, even us sometimes as per how she spoke to us earlier, we don't mind but some people get angry at her for it but she doesn't even care for their opinions. We see them both off and Maddie drives her to school (Chris has a blood red satchel she has her pens, art pad and notebook in for school). As soon as Maddie was old enough she used some of the money Chris gives her from the coffee shop and bought a Chevy Camaro SS that only Chris can ride with her in. We believe that Maddie is a bit too obsessed with Chris and think that Maddie may even have feelings for Chris in a more intimate way but we will cross that border when we get to it. So we say goodbye and we go back to our work.

POV - Chris

I'm currently in the passenger seat of Maddie's car that she bought with some of the money saved over the years, she’s been really good to me... Too good sometimes but I love her none the less, I read somewhere that the feelings I have for Maddie is more than a sisterly affection and the way Maddie acts shows she has the same feelings but I’m worried about telling her how I feel so I am going to wait till I am older. It's been a long time since my original mother, father and uncle died. I got given a great family in return and if there is a heaven I am sure it’s my mother's doing, I have started to call my new family by mom and dad as of two years ago as I think I have been with them long enough for that to be what I refer to them as. My family says I am bubbly and energetic when with them but when in parties and meetings it’s as if I am an ice queen and Maddie told me we had nicknames within the company, mine being and hers being . Although they are weird nicknames I enjoy them as I was them to have the impression I am quite mature so that they don't look down on me.

Today is my first day at school as I have been home tutored my whole life for everything I could ever want; there was even one time I went to Japan for a month with Maddie and we learnt from some old man in the mountains name Teli. He taught us both how to hunt for our food and clothes and then how to use what we get properly, meaning he taught us cooking, smithing, tailoring, leather-working and many other things revolving around weapons, armour, clothes, accessories and food. I even learnt woodworking and how to gather my own wood. I noticed over the years that I loved the outdoors, probably because of the time I spent out there in the forest. Because of this my grandpa bought a wooden cottage next to a lake in a forest nearby and I can go there whenever I wish and I went quite often (even took my teachers sometimes). I think I earned a private nickname in the family of as it was if I was bonded with nature they said. I kind of just feel at peace there and I find that wildlife isn't very aggressive towards me as if they could tell that I wasn't going to harm them. One time I fell asleep in a clearing and when I woke up from a scream and noticed my family a mix of surprise and fear I noticed what was around me, there was about twenty wolfs, thirty rabbits, foxes, birds and all kinds of animals all asleep. There was a really big wolf next to me so I stroked it and it woke up and barked at the other animals all seemed to look at me happily, then the big wolf liked me and walked off with the wolves. I am pretty sure I saw Maddie glare at him, after that is when I got the nickname.

I am getting on Friday and Maddie told me she ordered one secretly from my parents to surprise them, although my grandpa knew as he got us both special edition ones that gave one hour early access and better hardware and a single boon/wish to use before entering the game. I already know what I am going to ask for but I am still thinking of other ideas.

While I am speaking about the game I may as well explain some points about it.

Starting with races there are only four you can choose from: Human, Elf (and subspecies), dwarf (and subspecies) and demi-humans.

Although you can't choose your class at the start, the manual does explain there are the main guilds where you can get a default class. The default classes are: warrior, archer, mage and assassin. There are also hidden classes that are open to anyone who can find and get the class, also there are exclusive classes which can only be given out once and only that person will have it, so if you find a teacher willing to depart his class onto you or a exclusive class book.

There are also class advancements you can get at random while playing through certain actions, from advancing to a certain level and paying for the advancement at the default guild or getting your teacher to advance you when he/she thinks you are ready. An example of this would be: warrior -> knight or mage -> fire mage.

With the help I gave the company in testing the game a bit I also found out some info I will use to my advantage, such as skills and stats are much better than raising my level at the start. Therefore for the first month I am stuck in town, and maybe more time afterwards I will be training my stats and skills I gain. I also asked Maddie to do the same, so while I do something like train smithing, she could do cooking or tailoring, etc. I also found out if I complete the basic training at the training hall I can gain a basic weapon at the end.

While I was thinking about the game we are going to play together we had arrived at school, it was a large four floor building the two two floor buildings either side (which I found are for private rooms like labs and club rooms). There was a large parking lot out front with a lot of students leaving their cars or talking with their friends before entering the main entrance. As we drive in, we gather a lot of attention as this was a beauty of a car and was cleaned before we left with it. It also was quite loud!

{Note: I am started during tenth grade}

Maddie pulls up in the only empty parking space for teachers and gets out the car, then grabs my satchel out the rear as I get out myself and fix my wrinkled clothes. I notice quite a few stares but that was probably from my hair and eye-patch as its not what you see every day. Maddie hands me my satchel and grabs hers as she locks her car and heads towards the main building with still quite a few stares but most probably accepted I was a transfer student or something.

After heading inside Maddie checks her phone for the school map she downloaded and we head to the reception a short bit away.

Maddie - *ahem* "Hello, I am Madeline Worthiness and this is Christina Worthiness. I am the new teacher’s assistant and she is a new student, I came to say we have arrived and ask for our time table."

Receptionist - "Sure, let me print them out now" *prints out two pages and hands one to me and one to Maddie* "Here, it’s your schedule, it’s pretty basic as Monday and Wednesday are the same and Tuesday and Thursday are the same but Friday is a short day and we finish early, have a good rest of the year here!" *beaming smile*

I smile back while Maddie just ignores her and takes a picture of our schedules then throws them in the trash (I have already memorized mine so I don't mind). After that we head towards where the map said we could fine Mr. Roger Trenzel, my homeroom teacher and the main teacher I would see as he taught maths and was my homeroom teacher. We found him in his office (still 10 minutes till class starts, it took us 10 minutes to get here but we stopped for breakfast out as a treat for our first day), we knocked and entered when told to. When he saw us he spoke.

Mr. Trenzel - "Hello, I am Roger Trenzel; you can just call me Mr. Trenzel or Roger. I don't mind. Pleasure to meet you both."

Chris - "Christina Worthiness, pleasure."

Maddie - "Madeline Worthiness, pleasure."

Mr. Trenzel - "Sisters?"

Maddie - "I am adopted in the family and I work as Chris's personal maid, seeing as she is coming to school, so am I." *smiles*

Mr. Trenzel - "Interesting, Chris aced the entrance exam we gave her to allow her to transfer in and Maddie you were more than qualified for your job but your schedule is interesting." (He had brought up his schedules on his computer)

Maddie - "I am only interested in being an assistant to Chris's classes so unless she is in it I won't be either."

Mr. Trenzel - "Well, Principal agreed, so what do I care! *ha-ha* Anyway, class will start soon so I will show you where you will sit in homeroom and I can explain some of the stuff you can help with Maddie. I will mainly get you to do errands but you can take over some classes like with some other teachers will let you do."

After that we leave the office and head to a classroom on the second floor near his office. It wasn't too loud inside so I guess not many people have arrived in the classroom yet. As we enter everyone glances over and then keeps on staring, probably wondering who I was. Mr. Trenzel points to a seat at the back next to a window and told me that seat should be free, so I hug Maddie and head to my seat and take out my art book and a pencil and start drawing the wolf I met in my past. By this time most of the students have gotten back to what they are doing but there was one still looking at me. She was quite tall, actually really tall, probably 5"10. She could be on a basketball team. She had brown hair but it seemed like a bit of red was mixed with it, dark green eyes, an overly cheery smile. She also had a plaster on her nose and cheek, probably was in a fight or something. She was wearing a blue tracksuit with a hoodie of the same colour and had her ears pierced.

When she noticed I was looking at her she blushed a little and smiled at me, I smiled back and she decided to come over.

Tall girl - "Hey, I’m Samantha Jones, your new here right?"

Chris - "Yes, I am just starting today, my name is Christina Worthiness." *smiles*

Samantha - "We will probably see each other around school often, so I figured we could be friends if that is alright with you?"

Chris - "Sure, I’d love that!"

Samantha - "Awesome, give me a shout if you need anything during your first couple of days, it’s normally the time when you get lost and stuff." *he-he*

Chris - "Thank you."

Samantha - *grabs chair* "So Christina ..."Chris"... So Chris, are you going to get ?"

Chris - "Yeah, it should be arriving today ready for Friday!"

Samantha - "Awesome! I heard only the special editions arrive today and the rest start delivery and pick up tomorrow? Are you getting a special edition or something?"

Chris - "Yeah, my grandpa is a bit overprotective so he made me have it, I was happy with the normal one but he didn't listen." *he-he*

Samantha - "Is it alright if I have your number and email then? We can chat and play in-game if you are alright with it? "

Chris - "For the first month or two in-games I will be busy but if you want to talk in-game or even meet up where I will be, I would be happy to hang out!" *smile*

Chris was about to speak again but Mr. Trenzel walked in with Maddie, so Chris went back to her seat (she was on the same row but opposite end). Once they enter everyone who wasn't before came in and sat down, after that the bell rung and he started the lesson.

Mr. Trenzel - "Hello class, you have probably noticed but we have two new people joining us today. This is Maddie Worthiness, she is going to be a teaching assistant in various classes *Maddie bows*. *points at me* that is Christina Worthiness; she is a new student here. Before anyone asks, she is wearing the eye-patch for a reason so don't bug her with questions about it. I hope you welcome them well, if not I am going to make your life more of a hell in maths!" *ha-ha*

Student - "Is your hair natural?"

Chris - *nods*

Mr. Trenzel - "Anyway, let’s get class started..."

He took the register and then started maths class early. During class I got bored so I carried on with my drawings, I also decided to add some colour as-well. After half an hour I think he noticed I wasn't really paying attention and asked me to answer the question on the board, when I looked up it was a question about finding x and it was simple for me (although it was eleventh grade work). So I answered with x = -1 and everyone was amazed I got it right, once he checked it out he said it was right and left me be for the rest of the lesson, apart from some sheets I had to answer questions on, but I got them all right (math is really enjoyable to me so I find it simple now).

After class Maddie came over to me to escort me to next lesson, Sam joined us but Maddie didn't seem to like her being with me. The next lesson was Physical Education so we went to the changing room. Once inside Maddie gave me a piece of paper with my locker code on and I went to me locker and started changing into some black shorts, a white t-shirt and white trainers Maddie had packed me. When I removed my shirt I think I heard a gasp and I noticed a few people looking at my torso, looking at them with a "?" above my head, they asked if they were real scars and I *nodded* and went back to changing. I always wear a sports bra and boxers for comfort during the day so I didn't need to change them. Afterwards we headed to the gym and we were going to do gymnastics.

Well... The class went pretty normal until I decided to have some fun and did some tricks on the horse and some flips across the floor. After that, I pretty much gathered a lot of attention when it was my turn so I didn't participate unless I got bored of watching. The next lesson was English and that went by like a normal class (English bores me), the last lesson of the day was music class and the teacher (Ms. Luis) wanted to know if I played any instruments or sang, when I looked at Maddie she understood I wasn't sure which instrument so she went and grabbed an electric violin and set it up. Once it was ready I moved the speaker over to the piano and stood behind it and help the violin ready to play.

I think Ms. Luis gathered I was going to be quite good from Maddie's smirk. So I started to play by playing the piano then I moved to a fast beat violin song and then when I went back to playing the piano I started to sing a mid-speed song...

From there I played the violin even faster than before and sung again. When I finished I got a round of applause and I think Sam wolf-whistled. I *bowed* and put everything back with Maddie's help. After school before I could leave with Maddie, she had to go see the teachers she worked with today so she gave me her keys and I went towards her car but Sam saw me and we had a chat about the game and some other things while waiting. When Maddie came back Sam got in a limo (didn't know she was rich) and we got in Maddie's car and went home...
