In the beginning there was One. That One made All that Was, and the world was filled with all things that are still and quiet.
Mountains and valleys formed with the rivers and lakes between them. Oceans and shores quietly began their eternal dance of sandy waves. Plains and hills were swept with warm winds that shaped and moved their dust.
Then came all things that were green and flourished. Mountains and valleys were filled with trees and brush. The plains filled with scrub and grass from end to end. Oceans were filled with vibrant seaweed.
Then came all things that were small and moving, the creatures of the world. They were unlike those he had left in many, for in them he granted a small spark of power each according to their own ways. Birds flew with winds at their call. Mice and rodents all had ways to hide themselves. Wolves and their kindred could call upon the woods to move their prey. The herds of the plains sparked thunder with hooves and horns.
At last, the One called forth Seven. One to fill each continent according to its own will. And so were created the Seven Races of Magic.
Dwarves in their mountainous homes to the far east, where they conquered the steps and their clans delved deep into heights unending. They were granted the long lives of their stony halls and the gift of knowledge of metal and stone, and their esoterics were of alchemy and elementalism.
Then came the Elves of the West, whose long lives inspired ancient and broad spanning empires across the coasts and hills. Tribes quickly became the foundations of city-states. City states banded together into Empires and conquered the waves of their inland seas and rivers. Their unique sight and long learning gave them the insight of Travel and Inscription, and their runic magic was a thing of beauty as it was carved on every wooden thing.
The Orcs were made upon the plains where they mastered their martial arts and proved their strength in honored combat. They built monuments of their leaders as they herded the creatures of the grassy hills in ever-changing tribes and dueling neighbors. No monuments did they build, save those that were temporary to empower their heroes. They cultivated inner strength and discovered the Will of Body in all ways and grew strong.

In the middle of all were the dunes of the Giants. The nomadic peoples towered over their kin to the corners, and their hardy nature served them well as they dug out quiet hidden towns and built oasis sanctuaries wherever they went. Their strong pride was served well by their astounding mirage works and their trade caravans were led by strong bards.
To the south amongst the jungles came the Vipimey, snakelike and agile as they basked in the long humid days. They were the loosest of civilizations but the ones with the greatest power, for they learned of the cycles of the world. They built small villages throughout the rainforests they called home and founded the many Rituals that are still used today.
Far, far to the north were their opposite, the clannish Kitsune and cunning in their ways. They hunted amongst cold sea and high tundras and learned to imbue materials so they could match the sturdy creatures own abilities. Enchanters ruled their ever shifting ice kingdoms as they founded grandiose dynasties.
To the low rolling hills along the western coastline were the smallest folk, Halflings and Gnomes, two sides to the same coin, for the small and homebuilding men of the Halflings were matched by the cunning and eccentric women of the Gnomes, and their communities were lively things of harvest and home. Their magics called forth the planting and harvest in spring and fall, and in summer and winter they delighted in contraptions and cunning works of hand and magic. Their towns and sprawling communities dotted many isles all around the continent but most prefered the mild weather of the west.
The Creator was impressed by the works of his Seven Children, and saw it was good. And so he called forth the agents of change that he had made on so many worlds, and Humans were brought into being throughout the world. They came to the middle points and spread throughout each country and place, inspiring shifts in dynamics and proving to be the chaotic agents that he had known them to be. Kingdoms and Countries unified in places where the seven races did not wish to call home, and slowly the humans grew strong and traded ideas.
Five thousand years it took for things to come ever forward, and people shared and traded ideas, traveling far and wide as they spread themselves across the world. Creatures new and old came into being in that time, existences created by myths of other worlds and powered by the magic of this one. As history built forward, the Creator solidified the past and built backwards for the scholars of the future to understand their world.
Then, when calendars shifted and lost track of the origin of time due to ancient and new things, did Heroes begin to appear. For History had finished its first era of ancient and wonderous things, and now came the time of Myth and Legend.
