Chapter 17 : Ripples through the world

Chapter 17 : Ripples through the world

Every cultivator in the world felt the ripples resulting from the breaking of the seal. All the kings from the weak kingdoms sent messengers and search parties to find out what happened.

Usually, when something similar happened, it meant that an ancient artifact or some ancient ruins had been surfaced. But a powerful object was also the prelude of a war. Everybody wanted it for themselves; therefore if one appeared, they need to be prepared.

Only the kings of the Three Great Kingdoms, the ancients clans and powerful cultivators knew the difference of the disturbance in the natural Ki between a seal being broken and a treasure appearing. They all immediately called meetings asking their members if anyone knew of a seal so powerful being placed that could cause the ripples. However, no matter how much they searched nobody could find anything about such a strong seal in their records.

The situation of the four ancient god beast clans was different. The clan leaders had records left behind by their ancestors, mentioning that thousands of years ago the god beasts were five and not four. They were also indicating that a seal had been placed on the last clan to prevent them from rising ever again. These records were extremely confidential, and only the clan leader could read them.

As soon as the ripples of a great seal being broken appeared, they instantly thought of that ancient clan. Unfortunately, the records were not mentioning what kind of species this ancient beast clan was, so they could only order their clan members to inform them if they find any unusual beasts on their travels.

In a cave, somewhere extremely far from Drake's village, an extremely old, corpse looking, human, opened his eyes the moment he fell the ripples in natural energy.

'This disturbance is the result of a Soul Death Seal breaking.' He turned his eyes towards Drake's direction. 'This direction is towards the village of that filthy monkey we sealed a couple of thousands of years ago...But it should be impossible for them to break it. Did somebody help them?

Too bad I can't go and take a look myself right now. I'll have that useless son of mine take care of it.' As soon as he finished his thoughts a round medallion appeared in his hands out of thin air. He then injected his Ki before breaking it and closing his eyes again.

In a city of humans called the Holy Capital, there was a majestic looking Cathedral. On the top floor of the cathedral an old looking man with a muscled body that was in direct contrast with his age, was taking a bath along with his concubines.

"Your Holiness, please stop that, it's tickling me," giggled one of the concubines.

"What if I moved my fingers bit lower?" asked the man while lowering his hands, feeling the girl's body. All the concubines around him started laughing except the girl being touched by him; she started moaning.

Suddenly, the man froze on the spot and immediately stood up.

"ALL OF YOU OUT!!! USHER, GET YOUR ASS IN HERE RIGHT NOW! " The man roared. All the concubines hurriedly got out the bath gathering their towels and rushing outside the room while a man dressed up in white metallic armour and a sword strapped to his waist got inside the room and kneeled in front of the man.

"I await your orders, your Holiness."

"I want you to find a Bishop near the Great Wilderness and order them to gather a group of at least a hundred Holy Knights and check for any unusual activity there. They must scan the whole area. If they find any golden-haired monkeys, they must capture them alive and bring them here. As soon as they are done, tell them to report all the findings using a Sound Transmission talisman immediately. NOW" the man ordered.

"As you command, your Holiness" the man named Usher replied and left to complete his orders.

'That old geezer was in closed cultivation for more than two hundred years, I thought I had freed myself from him. For him to contact me now, it appears the matter regarding the ripples that appeared, is more severe than I thought.

But what kind of beasts are these golden-haired monkeys he asked me to search for? ' the man that everyone called, his Holiness, frowned.

Back to the Sun Village, Drake was slowly waking up from his slumber. It took him a few minutes to completely wake up and check his surroundings. First, he saw that a female monkey was sleeping next to him if he remembers correctly her name was Diana, which completely baffled him. Then he saw a ring and two talismans next to each of them. He picked up the smaller one that was next to him and broke it in his hands. Immediately, Darth's voice sounded in his mind.

"Drake, if you are listening to this, we probably succeeded in breaking the seal in the village. The other talisman contains an explanation about everything, but before you break it, you must wake up Diana sleeping next to you if she isn't awake yet.

Then pick up the things we left for each of you, the rings are being called interspatial rings and let the user store things inside them. Drop a bit of your blood on it, in order to bind it to you. After that as long as you inject a bit on Ki in it, you will be able to check inside and store or retrieve items.

Afterwards, store the other talisman so you can listen to it later and RUN!! Run as fast as you can and hide. Both of you. You do not have time. People will soon arrive at the village to check it and if they find you, what awaits you will be a fate worse than death. Now, RUN SON!!" finishing Darth's voice in his mind became increasingly loud.

Drake wasted no time waking up Diana, she was also perplexed when woke up, but Drake explained to her to break the small talisman to listen to it. The more she heard, the paler her face was becoming.

While she was listening to the small talisman, Drake started binding his ring. As soon as he did, he injected his Ki, and he was astonished by the items inside. There were hundreds of books and papyruses, along with a few talismans. Furthermore, there were a couple of clothes for him to tie around his waist as well as the black bandana his father was wearing and a strong bow that he used to train with. But the most essential item inside the ring, was the only thing he desired from his village, the golden staff filled with engravings his father was holding.

Immediately he took out the black bandana, tying it around his head. Then he took out the golden staff, thinking it would be better for him if it were a bit shorter and lighter. Instantly the staff's shape changed according to his desires.

'That's a damn useful ability.' Drake mused, storing the staff once again. He looked at Diana which was now on the verge of crying. 'Since you guys gifted me with the staff, I'll take her away from here. But that's the only thing I'm going to do for her.'

He picked her up, and she let out a short scream. Drake ignored her, picked up the other talisman and ring that she hadn't bind yet and rushed out of the house. The moment he got out he froze looking at the village which was now just a massive crate as if a bomb dropped, but he instantly remembered Darth's warning, so he started running.

'What the fuck happened here? Are they all dead?' Drake was wondering while running. Since Diana hasn't stopped crying since her scream, Drake decided to smack the back of her neck making her fall unconscious.

He kept running for hours even after he left the crate. Apart from the scenery changing into the, now familiar trees to him, he had no idea where he was or where he was going. He just kept running. Even though he knew he had to hide, his excitement was rising.

'I am free at last, free from that fucking village.' He wanted to scream; he wanted to let out all the frustration he was feeling for the last five years. But he forced himself to endure a bit more since no matter how excited he was, him getting far away from his former village was his priority.

The sky was turning dark, and he was getting anxious since he couldn't find a good hiding place. The scene around him has changed, and instead of only trees, plants of all kinds were everywhere around him, looking like a jungle. Fortunately, it wasn't long that he eventually saw from the corner of his eyes, a cave in the far distance. Not caring if another beast occupied the cave, he rushed in. Luckily for him, the cave was empty for now. However, it was clear that its owner was simply away.

He dropped Diana who was still unconscious, and he went back out of the cave planning on gathering some sticks and grasses in order to make some traps for when the owner of the cave returns.

After he was done gathering and went back to the cave, he started making the traps. The whole time he was creating them, he couldn't help but reminisce the time when his father in his previous life was teaching him how to hunt before he allowed him to start using guns.

"A good hunter does not only rely on ranged weapons to hunt. He takes advantage of his environment in order to lure and capture the prey." He remembered himself spending hundreds of hours reading book and guides on how to make traps from all kind of things that exist in the wilderness.

The traps were ready near the entrance of the cave and Drake went inside readying himself for the upcoming hunt. Soon he felt the familiar feeling of extreme calmness right before he goes for the kill.

"Ah, this feeling... It has been so long..." Drake muttered while an evil grin formed from his lips.
