Prolouge: Mobix

Unknown Meadow. 12:34 PM

The sight and smell of my blood inside my helmet and visor are much more disturbing than I thought it would be.

A sharp ringing shoots through my head as the air inside this power suit gets heavier.

“U-ugh…” I struggle to even admit I am in pain as I try to push myself off the ground, only to be met with a burning sensation and muscle failure. However, the sensation of hitting the ground once again does not happen, for the power suit finishes lifting me through the pain despite my broken body.

This suit is the only thing keeping me alive, yet it is killing me at the moment.

I slowly begin to decipher the ringing in my ears, and I manage to make out someone screaming over a distorted radio.

 “DANGER CLOSE!”

Trails of light and smoke in the sky speed into a colossal, stoned Golem with glowing eyes and a violet aura emitting from it. The thunderous whistling of an A-10 Warthog rushes behind the missiles and by its target.

Thunderous booms echo across the vast plains and meadows with towers of smoke as the missiles detonate and the once-mighty stoned threat collapses with a great rumble.

The Golem isn’t what put me in this condition…

A nonchalant man stands just ahead of the rubble, staring holes into what’s left of my soul. He is unfazed by the madness that has just unfolded behind him. A sadistic smile creeps across his face as he begins to recognize the current agony the suit is trying its best to hide.

His purple tie, which went with what could be best described as an armored tuxedo, was glowing softly, giving his face a shadowy definition.

While utilizing his cane and a luminous pocket watch, he begins a slow stride toward my unprepared self.

The AI on my visor desperately cycles through different weapons, trying to assess the most efficient weapon for this situation.

SIG SPEAR… M32A1…. GAUSS CANNON…. CARBINE RAIL GUN… XN-1 LAWS CARBINE…

I don’t think any of these are good enough for this guy…

I try to move, any type of movement would help, but all I can manage is a pathetic stumble…

The AI shows me two green exclamation marks on both sides of my visor.

“Tch, told ya you weren’t fast enough.” A boy with shaggy midnight hair rushes passes my right side. His ruby symmetrical horns pierce through the air as his red cape hangs on to his black jacket for dear life.

Leaving a dual light trail of orange behind him, he readies what appears to be two magnum hand cannons which seem to be powered by lava and fire.

The glowing light and flames that emit from the guns are almost like something from Hell.

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

To the left of me, a blur blinks by much faster than the boy with the midnight hair. It almost instantaneously smashes into the watch-wielding man in Infront of me.

However, just as quick as the blur is, the man holds his cane up, blocking and clashing with what appears to be a rapidly vibrating Katana.

Another notification appears on my visor.

ALERT: TIME DILATION DETECTED. VALUE:.42

The pocket watch the man wields emits a soft blue glow, and the blur surrounding the being clashing with the man clears up.

A violet-haired girl with an intense, determined look is staring the man down with an iron grip on her Katana. Her black and purple light armor, wavy purple scarf, and a black mask covering the lower half of her face all scream, “assassin.” Well, all except the purple hair bow tie holding her hair.

I can safely say that these two beings are my allies- No. They’re my friends.

As my friends begin to engage the man, A hand lands on my shoulder and tugs me to get my attention. Judging from how the AI didn’t go off, it’s hopefully friendly. The suit assists me in turning around, and I see exactly what anyone would want to see in this situation.

A knight in shining armor… literally. My face meets with the sight of a silver-haired young woman with deep ocean eyes sporting a golden-colored heavy armor suit that looks like it could hail from medieval times. I’d seen her before. She usually has a sword that is bigger and wider than herself and a shield to go with it, but she doesn’t have them on her at the moment. All she has is her hands on me and an anxious face. Finally, she opens her mouth and begins to….

I… I think she’s trying to communicate with me…

I try to sustain my breathing as it gets heavier. I’m blinking in and out of consciousness. The AI gives me another message. I try my best to make out what the knight is saying to me.

“Is thy… ok?

ALERT: WEAK CONSCIOUSNESS OBSERVED

“We mus….. out of here!”

ALERT: INSUFFICIENT ENERGY FOR SELF RETREAT

“V-280 Valo… Retre…”

REQUESTING ASSISTANCE FROM ADELITA

“Do…. Carry thee?”The power suit proceeds to force me to nod.

I then feel myself being scooped up by the knight, my back completely lying in her arms and my feet in the air. My pride takes a few hits for having to be carried like this…

She begins to run faster than any Olympic athlete while the power suit forces my limp fingers to cling to her. However, I see a red exclamation mark on my visor for a split second before putting a red diamond target mark on an object in the sky. The AI displays the velocity of the object as it approaches rapidly.

As the object comes into view, I realize it is not an object but a person. The AI zooms in for a closer look and enhances the video.

A woman in lilac power armor is headed toward us. She has a light aura protruding from her back, resembling wings of some sort. She is spinning a weapon that is two scythes attached on both of its ends. But instead of the blades being steel, they are made of purple plasma. I can’t take any more hits, and I don’t think medieval armor will do much…

Just as she’s about to reap us from above, a giant blue circle of incarnations appears in the sky, separating the dual reaper from us, almost like a magical circle of the sort. The reaper commits to the attack and swings hard, causing a deep thunk as the attack is blocked. Another friend had just saved my life…

The reaper bounces off the circle and hovers in the air briefly, staring down at us and the ring that had just prevented our demise.

A sharp yellow beam comes rushing in at high speed from her left, with only her instincts saving the reaper from the smiting. After dodging that beam, the reaper is given no break as an armored Valkyrie with angelic wings clashes with her scythes in midair with a giant glowing spear. A literal guardian angel in my time of need.

The reaper retreats, headed toward the man who had damaged me earlier. The angel’s wings glow a bright yellow and dart after the reaper in pursuit. An AH-64 Apache helicopter follows closely behind, with its chain gun ripping through the air.

My body and mind betray me as my commands to move are ignored. A once-rejected fear begins to arise from within, causing my breathing to get heavier.

My consciousness slowly slips away into the knight's arms as my brain is forced to accept a now undeniable fact.

We can’t win this.
