Chapter 4 - Mech
Leon looked happily at the girl in front of him. He remembered her. She should be the assistant of his sister. Of course, this is the first time they met in this timeline.
She is his sister’s assistant and best friend.
When he joined Sirius Legion, she was his guide.
Nina who was looking at the scenery outside the window still felt something is wrong. There was always a line of sight on her.
The feeling of someone’s sight on her back is so annoying!
She turned her head and glared at Leon, trying to show the majesty of a senior sister. After all, the opposite was just a high school student.
Even if her body a little small, she is still a university senior sister!
Leon raised his eyebrows. He found out the girl’s brain waves were not in the same channel as his.
So he spoke gently and said, “you wear your clothes upside down.”
“What?”
The girl blinked and moved her sight to her chest...
..
Nina raised her head stiffly, looking at the gentle Leon.
Leon saw with his own eyes how the blush spread all over Nina’s face from her neck.
“Thank you..”
The girl said in a thin voice, before burying her head. She was a bit aggrieved why she always forgot to look at the mirror before going out. An incident like this was not the first time. And today she was even reminded by a boy younger than her.
Leon looked at the shivering small girl in front of him. He felt like a villain. Hope she won’t hold a grudge against him.
The cable car arrived at the observation room on the tall tower.
The platform on the top of the tower is divided into three levels. The first floor is the base for mech teams, the second floor is for the observation room and the third floor is the military area where all the artillery and pulse cannon also military control room are located.
The sight of blue sky, distant clouds, and green forest came into view. Of course the most interesting is always the mechas took off from the first floor.
Behind the huge transparent floor-to-ceiling windows, tourists watched the battles between mech teams and the misty beasts coming from the depth of the forest.
The splendid fire torrents explode in the group of large saber-claw birds, blocked the nearest flying beast 2 km from the tower.
A team of five was fighting the flying beasts. The combination of balanced, attack, and defense worked well to stop the flying beasts’ advance.
“Is that the D-rank Aranian team? It’s amazing..”
A surprised sound sounded from his side. Leon turned his head and saw that Nina had eyes-wide-open staring intently at the battlefield. Her face was full of excitement.
After getting her clothes fixed, Nina stood behind the windows at the observation room to see the gorgeous personal mechas fighting monsters. This is her purpose coming today. A small beast tide is happening now.
“Aranian team, what team is it?” Leon asked gently.
Leon’s voice froze the excited Nina. She remembered the strange boy near her so she retracted her head and replied weakly, “Aranian team, they are the strong mech team from Minsha University. All the members have 3-star warrior combat power. And when combined with the personal mech they have the power to fight tier 4 or even tier 5 misty beast.”
“They are a very talented team and have joined no legion yet.” She told Leon in a much lower voice.
“Aranian team, a talented team. Thank you, Nina.” Leon said to the girl on his side.
“Ah, no... Thanks.” Nina lowered her head.
“Eh..”

Nina lifted her head remembering that she never told the boy her name.
When she looked to her side, Leon was nowhere to be seen.
“Visitors, please be careful, please follow the regulations, otherwise you may face danger to your life.”
An electronic voice sounded every minute reminding tourists in the tower of the potential danger.
Leon turned his head when he spotted a small door next to the bathroom.
[Maintenance room]
He nodded in satisfaction.
He opened the door ignoring the small line of text - [Non-staff are prohibited from entering.]
...
When a blue mech fire twelve small missiles simultaneously from a missile launcher on his back, a teenager burst with excitement. He frantically pulled his companion,
“Ahhhhh! That ranger mech, the Blue Yargio series! Its missile system is so overpowered.”
“A ranger mech only good at medium range attack. If there is no good fighter series in the front, ranger mech will be useless.”
The thin man near him said unconvinced, while his vision locked at a larger black mech fighting close combat with misty beasts in the front.
“The Grand sniper series is pretty good too its damage is the highest.” Another visitor also commented.
The noise and shouts are intertwined. Nina looked at the mechas with different shapes and colors on the battlefield.
She stood there appreciating the battle between the mechas and misty beasts.
“Watch my Red Gull fighter series destroyed that flying beasts group.” A young man said to his friends.
In the admiring eyes of his companion, he walked to the circular elevator cover in front, and a blue light quickly swept across his body.
[Identification passed, welcome, pilot Warrent.]
The elevator door opened.
Nina turned around and looked at the elevator descending to the first floor.
Sure enough, there are many outstanding people in this world.
It is a pity that I don’t have such a talent; I envy it from the bottom of my heart.
Nina regretfully retracted her gaze, and then quickly adjusted her mentality. She needed to observe and report the talented persons and teams to the legion before other legions notice them.
Legion’s future depends on the quality of personnel recruited each year. Aranian team is one of the best newcomers this year. But several legions already notice them, and with the Sirius Legion situation now, the hope is slim that a high potential team will choose them.
Nina thought pessimistically.
But we can’t be sure until we tried. Nina glanced left and right, then raised a cute little fist to cheer herself up.
Serena is pretty popular at the Minsha University. Maybe they will choose to join us, after all, she is the vice leader, and the adopted daughter of the former leader.
Nina tried to think optimistically.
She looked at the atmosphere in the observation room, the dark clouds on the horizon and occasional light spot flashing in it, the small tide of flying beasts from kasop forest, the mechas formation blocking the beasts, and the man standing on the edge of the platform... everything seemed so...
and many more!
[Something is not right.]
Nina raised her head and with a stunned look, glanced at her side.
A little boy held a popsicle and looked out the window blankly with his mouth open. Some visitors also stopped their conversations.
She turned her head again and looked at the platform outside the window. Nina only felt a cold air rushing from the bottom of her heart to the skull.
It was a teenager. The short sleeve beach shirt, a pair of canvas pants, and a pair of clean sneakers.
With a short black, broken hair was shaken violently by the strong wind.
At the moment, the other party was standing with his hands in his pockets, facing the strong wind high above the sky, calm like a tourist watching sunrise on the beach.
She was right. The one standing on the very edge of the top platform of a hundred-meter-high Observation Tower was not a mecha, but a living person.
Moreover, it was the boy who reminded herself in the cable car just now!
What is he doing?
suicide!?
Thinking of this, Nina only felt cold all over and rushed to the floor-to-ceiling windows.
“Wait!”
With a “boom.”
The girl slammed into the heavy sightseeing glass, and it didn’t even cause any tremors. Even the banging sound could only be dull and short for a moment, and could not be transmitted to the outside of the window at all.
Nina’s behavior attracted the attention of the surrounding people.
The security personnel, who just sat in the corner, stood up in shock, and murmured, “What is he going to do...”
In his vision, the young man took a step forward at will.
At this point, half of the teenager’s body already hanging in the air!
“Is he crazy!!”
...
[Warning, there is unauthorized personnel in an extremely dangerous area, please leave at speed!]
[Warning……]
The red warning light was on, and accompanied by the harsh siren, the monitoring personnel on the third floor stood up abruptly, looking at the screen and roaring angrily.
“Where the hell is this madman.”
“The staff, bring the person back to me. I’m on duty today, I don’t want people to die here!”
“What about people, damn, I’m going there myself.”
Anthony rushed out of the monitoring room madly and rushed to the edge of the top platform.
As the monitor of the observation tower, this has f*ckin been his turn today!
The wind howled in the ears.
Leon opened his arms and allowed the gale to pass over his body. He looked calmly at the intersection of the distant clouds and the mountains.
The sight is deep.
In the distant future, before truly comprehending the profound meaning of the awakening ability, the thirteenth territory of the Mist Dungeon was like the gate of hell and everyone couldn’t breathe.
Because too many pioneers died there.
Regardless of any star system, no matter any race, all wanderers who step into the Mist Dungeon know that the 13th territory is a taboo vocabulary.
It is a bottomless black hole that devours life because no one has ever stepped in and returned.
There, it represents a world that is infinitely close to death.
Advance, 90% probability of falling, 10% probability of losing yourself.
Retreat, waiting for the civilization to be crippled, and finally, die in despair and regret.
At that time, he hadn’t unlocked his ability third lock or comprehended the power of the domain. He would also be afraid that he would die like countless pioneers and become a member of millions of corpses.
Leon once had such a moment of tremor and fear, and he also thought of living in the 12th territory like this, becoming a decaying guardian like the enemies he once defeated.
Until...
He walked alone along the coast of Samarica.
