A very ordinary clearing in a uncharted forest area was showing very unusual fluctuations in the slight drizzle. Rain was not a big surprise as the area rarely saw sunlight but if a arch-mage or a very high rank sensor was here they would exclaim at the amount of rippling particles that was slowly but surely assembling which were not quite mana, if you'd look closely at it.
It was quite out of the reach of the human or to that end any kingdom or Empire which was why the area was "uncharted" and undisturbed shrubbery and various species and sizes of trees grew haphazardly never spoiled by a human foot. Few monsters roamed here in this depression of land surrounded by two mountain ranges and a prairie to one side that stretched to the horizon. The dramtic decent from the tall mountains to indented on hollow of dense forest to the steep incline meeting the flat land puddles frozen over here and there strewn across the prairie with waist-high grass was a very breathtaking view, not just because of the altitude.
The wind slightly picked up and the accumulated mystery particles blinked and vanished with a whomp like someone released gas. And then there was someone standing there like it stood there from evermore.
Deb was a old hand at this jumping business. Jump you ask? Well it is what you do at the metaphorical end of the line. Jumping and sending a ripple alerting the whole world of your arrival? Newbie mistake. Well if the circumstances call for it it could be a good or bad decision but to Deb it wasn't needed. Not anymore.
Closing his eyes he waited till the system of the world recognized and analyzed and set a primary goal for him to succeed and variant skills for him to master. According to his calculations and pattern analysis this round he should be most likely male. It was very comforting to live as a male as it was his gender in the first life. Not like he was uncomfortable in a female skin, actually he has lived more lives as a female, an overwhelming 1:3 ratio. But as you'd expect the resonance and sexuality (which is null at the moment) counts as something.
However long Deb waited the initial headache and the announcement with the system injecting him with new protocols didn't come.
"Impossible..did i die within a second in this life..*gasp* my voice!?* "
The feminine pitch of his took him by suprise. It had been a long time since he had been wrong in assuming something. For goodness's sake he had maxed out assumption!

A quick round of touching and feeling around confirmed that she was indeed female, not some abomination the system cooked up by mixing genders. Even though it wouldn't be the first time, that never was a pleasnt experience.
She sighed and touched the tip of her canine tooth twice with her tongue. It was her preferred gesture to access system. But the notification it displayed just blew her mind.

Deb closed his mouth firmly and read the log throughly again. Then did it again. And again.
After 532 times of reading she calmed down and closed the log. She opened it again and exactly as it said, memory restrictions were lifted and all experience was assimilating real time and action log now displayed it was two minutes after the last update of it. Which was odd.
She wanted to scream but instead she sat down. Pain during mental expansion was nothing new but what she hated most the uncertainty of the future. System was fun. It was a definite guide of what to do. She enjoyed fulfilling conditions and completing achievements. It was this attitude and the obsessive neat freak tendency lead to her fate as a jumper.
Not willing to cry but eyes fogging up her mind raced mile a minute considering anlayzing what to do while trying to repress the lost feeling. Her people did not have a set life-span so this emotional insecurity was what mostly killed them, one way or another.
In a blink her mind cleared up and she resolutely mouthed
She had somewhere to be. Something to do. And she was content of the fact. After all, Deb was someone who "completed" system of her home world.
Deb was a natural at what he..she does and the end of the line didn't matter. She did it once and certainly can do it again, alteady did a gazillion times anyways.
Standing up she for the first time noticed she was sitting on a bush crushing it, while in the nude and light rain freely fell upon her. The wet mud was squelching under her toes as she stepped in and bent to wade into the forest.
