The little girl fights injustice part 4

The man inches closer to me, still holding a sword infront of him and a evil smirk on his face, I pushed myself closer to the wall, next to the door but still trapped, as I can’t just leave Aegle.

The wife quickly ran to the door and closed it, as his husband inched closer.

He was not very far away in this small, cramped house, but maybe he had doubts so even though I was in his range, he hadn’t swung yet.

I thought maybe I could do that fire breath thing again? Then, Aegle, whose wounds weren’t something you should be able to stand up with, silently crept up, the pain so severe I could feel it too, but she crept around. She grabbed a stool next to the bed, and the wife, who had just closed the door, turned and screamed at the sight of the heavily injured Aegle walking with a stool heal overhead.

Aegle panicked and RUSHED creating a trail of blood at every step. She SMASHED the stool into the mans head, and the wife screamed again. After the man fell to the ground I let out my bubbling breath out on accident, I didn’t know how to expel it.

The man BURNT to a crisp, and Aegle opened the door, holding her infected wound and stumbling through it.

As I left, the woman rushed over to the foul smelling burnt and charred corpse. His wife cried over his body, her tears sizzling when they touched him, creating steam that was devoured mercilessly by the black smoke he was giving off.

Stolen novel; please report.

The woman’s wails could be heard well even outside the house, echoing in the ‘village’.

I walked up to Aegle, who had sat beside the wall of the same house we just left, panting. This time, an old woman I had not heard in the fray waddled up to me, speaking to Aegle verbally, and me mentally, all at once.

Aegle felt shocked, because I felt shocked and told her. Apparently though, being shocked is not good for a dying person and the old lady flicked her finger, both knocking Aegle out and flinging her up in the air slightly.

I hunched over, getting ready to pounce this lady.

‘Really? Now your distrusting?’ The lady told me

‘Yes.’

‘Well I guess your such a bad judge of character it doesn’t surprise me anymore.’

‘Anyways,’ she continued, with Aegle still floating at her side, and everyone looking in awe. ‘Follow me.’

‘And if I don’t?’ I basically sneer at here

‘The girl dies.’

I walked up to her and nodded silently.

*********************************************

The old woman’s house was far, or hard to get to? It felt far, but the old woman said it was not.

It was just like the first time I had been in the humans ‘villages.’

I had also asked the old woman a plethora of things during the waking time. Each time, she would give me a straight simple answer in return

What exactly are the archmages?

‘A god to humans, an inferior species that is a black spot on magics white coat to others.’

Magic?

‘Well, more like life. I’ll explain more once we start getting this girl in check.’

Are you going to make her fine?

‘Yes. I’m what everyone calls a ‘doctor’ I make people feel fine.’

‘Normally for a price’ she mumbled, but my hearing is good.

Who are you?

‘Just a person between worlds. Not quite archmage, not quite human.’

After the last question, which I pondered on for quite a while, lost in though, the old woman stopped, and said,

‘Dragon, we’re here. And two things before we go in. One, both you and this girls names, I’ll give you mine in exchange of course, and I’ll tell you about life force if you share a little with me.’

I had no idea what the last bit meant, but it couldn’t be bad from her, so I nodded and entered the door she swung open.
