Long ago, before people had achieved peace and developed powers, there was no Fate.
Fate, our god, had yet to bestow the earth with the joys we have now. There were no powers, no peace, and especially no hope.
The earth was in ruins, a waist land. It was covered in ash, in rock, in lava! Only the strong survived, and I mean inhumanly strong.
You must be thinking, ‘what a horrible way to live.’ Well, you’d be correct, it was horrible. But that was before Fate walked the earth.
One day, a commit collided with the earth. And out she came, our savior. Fate.
She made a deal with the humans of that decade. She would grant us peace, everything we could ever want, for one thing in return.
She wanted to become a god. She wanted to be the one, the only one, us humans worshipped. She wanted to control peoples destiny’s, whether we would live or die.
And us, as desperate as we were, agreed. We signed over our control so we could survive, and maybe even thrive one day.
At first, it seemed like nothing was to come of our deal. That was until a child was born. This child was called Hope.
She was gifted with unusual, inhuman powers. She could control fire, a Pyrokinesis. And more children with similar gifts came soon after.
And thus the new age began, children with special abilities became adults, and those adults made more children with special abilities. The cycle continued.
The only cost was our choice, something small to pay in the face of survival.
We were to never question Fate, never know what Fate has planned, for if we do there were to be great consequences.

“Alright everyone, thank you for coming today! Signing out, Adrenaline on the Moon!” Trystan yelled to the small crowd in the bar, a few people whistling and clapping.

“The tip jar is over there!” Axel pointed to where Josh sat, a small jar of coins and cash in his hands.
I sighed, rubbing my face, and set my drumsticks down. This was our third gig this week, and we had barely made anything at all.
Whilst I loved this band, I truly didn’t know how long we’d be able to last. We could barely land gigs, and when we did we made next to nothing. It really wasn’t sustainable.
I didn’t say that though, instead opting to start quietly packing up my drums. Or,,, as quietly as I could anyways.
I winced as I dropped one of my cymbals, swearing under my breath.
Axel snorted. “What has you on edge, my dude? We just completed another gig, shouldn’t you be excited?” He grinned widely. “Who knows, maybe we’ll take off soon!” You could tell his smile was genuine, He always was the optimist of the group.
I flinched as Trystan, Axels twin, patted my back.
“C’mon Ly, cheer up! We did good” she offered a smaller smile.
“For the last time, stop calling me that” i muttered as the twins laughed.
“Would you rather I call you Lice like Marely?” She asked, grinning now.
Fates, I didn’t wanna talk about my sister right now.
I simply ignored the comment, opting to pick up my dropped cymbal and pack up my drum kit.
Josh helped me out after packing up his guitar. He was similar to me, quiet. Sometimes anyways. He could be really loud when he’s drunk, which is often enough. Fates, I remember this one time where—
Axel smacked me in the back of my head, bringing me out of my thoughts.
“Ow! What the fuck dude?” I hissed, hearing him giggle.
“Hey! No swearing, put a dollar in the swear jar!” Trystan yelled from behind me, and I rolled my eyes.
“For Fates sake, fuck off!” I huffed.
“Two dollars now!”
I glared at her, about to reply when Axel cut me off again.
“Funny how you constantly say Fates, for someone who defied her just by being born”
I swivel, facing Axel now. “Shut. Up!” I hiss under my breath. That was a secret that nobody outside of my immediate family and my band new, aside from this one really annoying coworker named Cally, but shes a whole different story for another time.
Josh sighs and shakes his head, “guys, just leave him alone, you know cautious he is”
“For good reason too!” I hiss. “If anyone were to find out what I am? I would be sentenced to death!”
Trystan nods in agreement. “For once, I agree with Liam, you shouldn’t joke about that.” She sighed. “Sorry, twin.”
I glance at Axel, who roles his eyes, but says nothing else. I sigh in relief, subconsciously touching the freckles on my face. The freckles that would give me away if anyone were to look close enough.
“Whatever.” He finally says, turning the other way, muttering ‘assholes’ under his breath.
“Thats one dollar!” Trystan yells.
I snort, smiling for once. Despite my increasing worries about this band, I love all of my bandmates. I might not always act like it, though.
We’re all about to leave when someone in the crowded bar yells, causing us to all turn in shock.
“Is that, is that the Crystal Tyler!?”
Crystal Tyler, as in world renowned pop artist Crystal Tyler?
