That’s bad, my alarm seems to have gone off, that alarm is scheduled only to go off at 6am, now it is 6am it did its job, perfectly actually, too perfectly. Why is this a problem well that stems from the simple undeniable fact that I myself have not slept at all.

I stared at my screen, blinked, you know when you don’t close your eyes for a while and it’s sort of dry, ya that seems to be what I am experiencing right now. I can’t believe I pulled an all-nighter again.

I slowly stood up and walked towards the bathroom grabbing yesterdays school clothes of the ground

“Doesn’t smell so bad, I can wear it again…ouch!”

Yelling out as I hit my head on the doorframe of the bathroom

“ I always forget this door is lower than the others” 

After finishing up in the bathroom I ran to grab my backpack, packing all my school supplies.

“Pen, check, book, check, handheld console….check.”

Grabbing for the loose piece of papers sprawled across my desk, my eyes wandered to the letter the school gave me about my grades.

‘Dear Mr…blah blah blah Alex is on the verge of failing… blah blah blah…” and so the letter went, my school had a policy of allowing the students to first own up to their grades by giving the letter to their parents but I always thought that it was just dumb, hey it gave me more to play before the proverbial thunder strikes me.

I just want to clarify I am by no means an idiot but it’s just what is the point of it all, I study, get a job I hate and that it is it, I don’t know what I plan to do, well sort’ve, there is this part of me that wants to be a pro gamer, damn…imagine playing games for a living.

Anyways, I made my way downstairs, my parents and siblings had left already, lucky me, I’m late, no one to yell at me to get moving.

After throwing some random snacks in my bag I hopped on my bicycle and left for school, or at least that was the plan, looks like I got a flat tire , I won’t make it on time by foot, I have a spare tube for days like this but this is the perfect excuse to miss a day.

‘I get to sleep some more, play video games sounds like a perfect day’, Okay I’ve made my decision

As I went back I ran into my best friend, “don’t look at me like that, fine, I’ll go to school”, right in front of me stood a fluffy fur ball, staring at me. I swear that dog knows when I am going to do something wrong.

A few years ago there was animal shelter stand in front of a game store and that was where I saw this little fluff ball , the plan was to use the cash I had to buy the next Call of Duty, instead I ended up buying him, well it’s not really buying the fee is for vaccinations and stuff like that, okay I’m sidetracked and that is how I met Soap, yes I named him that.

Sighing I began to change the bike tire, “ I’m making a huge mistake”

Another 30 minutes later I arrived at the torture chamber, sorry I arrived at school, “Alex, I was wondering when you’d show up” Ms April said with a gleaming smile.

“Ma’am if I knew you’d be so happy to see me I’d be late every day” 

“Very funny, now have seat”

“Yes Ma’am”

Miss April was one of those fun teachers, you know, just graduated, still happy and ready to change the world, wonder if she’ll still be like that In a few years.

“Hey Rick” This was Rick, my best friend from elementary school, somehow we still hang out despite being like oil and water, he’s an athlete, on the student council, oh and he’s smart, he says he’s gonna study to be an engineer.

“Hey man, you look horrible, did you even get sleep last night”

“ nope, but soon as the energy drink kicks in I’ll be sort’ve back to normal”

“Alex, first you are late, then you disrupt another student, I might just have to send a write up to your parents”

‘Sorry Ma’am!” I stumbled out as I sat down, she was serious about that threat, my parents would kill me if she did that, or they’d probably change the wifi password, I mean I’d find the password eventually but that’s beside the point.

“ That will be it for today, remember your test tomorrow, you all may leave now, oh and someone wake up Alex” Ms Aprill announced before she sat down at her desk.

“I’m awake!, just resting my eyes” I drowsily yelled out

“Man you gotta stop gaming so much it’s starting to affect your health” 

“Ethan, that is like me telling you stop working out, besides I have a disease where if I don’t play video games I turn into a lemur, do you want that?, it won’t be the dancing kind either.

“ Whatever you say Alex, let's head out”

About half of the class left by now, when the whole room became encapsulated by a blinding white light. I’m talking so bright you can’t see what is in front of you and boom 5 seconds later I was in a room draped with red carpets and gold decor, surrounded by men in cloaks and square in the centre stood a man with a crown
