Time seemed to slow down and I would pass out and awaken at many different points. I couldn't comprehend anything but the pain that would encompass me. At the times I could open my eyes I saw Charon traveling. Where I don't know, but he seemed to be searching. I couldn't figure out what he was searching for. The pain was the only thing I could focus on. It felt like all of my senses were under attack again, yet there was more as if I was being probed by whatever was within me, searching.
I saw so many different landscapes, I didn't know what I was seeing but I had seen so many vibrant colors and even some somber colors. I had not a single clue of how long we had been traveling. The pain lessened over time. I heard a few more of those ‘tings’ in my head but the pain overlapped whatever those were.

‘Ting’ The general skill [Void Presence] has leveled from being peered within, the effects of void presence were of little use. Lvl 2nd 10 to 2nd 15
‘Ting’ the general skill [prevalent] has leveled through and experience of excruciating pain to all of your senses including your soul. Lvl 3 to lvl 18
‘Ting’ the general skill [General Sense Resistance] has leveled from being peered into by an extraordinary skill suffering lots of damage to your senses for a long period. Lvl 11 to 2nd 3
‘Ting’ second tier has been reached in the skill [General Sense Resistance]
[General Sense Resistance] 2nd: you have been peered and scribed many times and at high frequencies. The amount you resist increases exponentially, you may now ‘harden your senses’ to make them less vulnerable to attacks but lose practical use.
These words came to my mind as I finally opened my eyes. Everything on my body felt tense and hurt but it was only lingering as I felt a warm blanket of void encompass me. I looked up at Charon as I saw him looking off into the distance. That is when I realized that the void encompassing me was the wraps of the void that had been around Charon. He seemed lost in thought and I was tired so I looked off into the distant nothingness, but this time it wasn't just the void, it was what looked to be a supernova in the vast distance. We were watching it in real-time protected by the folds of the realm, or Charon he can probably fight the embodiment of a supernova, I thought to myself for a bit delighted by the warmth of the void, or was it something else, how can nothingness be warm?
“I am glad you are awake, chi-... Sorry, it has been a little over 10 years nothing to me and you, yet I believe in your time that was quite a lot,” he paused and laid there still in his arms unable to speak. “I am sorry to say but ‘full’ reincarnation is not possible for you yet, you must go through long and dangerous healing, but this will give you a chance to experience life again,” he looked down at me with a pained expression and said, “I am going to have to put you into a body that is going through the stages of the creation of a soul so you may encompass it,”
I did not know what to make of this but I did not want to live internally broken and still endlessly drifting in the ‘lands between’. A part of me yearned to live again, and learn of the secrets that were in this world… Well realms. I looked up at Charon, my eyes meeting him and I smiled a bright smile as I felt the thick skin on my face move slowly into place.
“I'm glad you have come to terms with with your situation, you seem to have a lot more knowledge than I had first made you out to have, this body will give you some of the highest chances for survival, you are already favored by mana and magic itself but it will still take work to be able to survive in, of the many realms, I will transmute your soul little one, I hope one day I will be able to see you once again, but that being said I didn't become this powerful overnight.” he looked at me with the smile he could conjure with his restricted face.
I smiled at him as I was forced into a slumber, I tried so hard to stay awake but this got the better of me.
***
Everything felt restricting. I could barely move as if the world had gripped around me. I kicked and thrashed trying to break free, I felt a pushing force on me as I saw an opening light. I was forced through the light multiple times until I was out. The light was so blinding until I heard noises, not noises but voices but this time instead of hearing heavy vibrations that were almost ethereal in nature, I heard regular voices. The light that I saw had finally settled and I looked around… Well, I tried to but again I was restricted.
I saw huge weird-looking women, they were all slightly different but they all had what seemed to be a hard shell that protected their more or less vital spots as well as rougher-looking skin. It was like they had an exoskeleton in parts where most humans were vulnerable. It was hard for me to remember the look of other humans but this seemed close, they all had weird tails that looked almost hard in nature with softer but rough spots that allowed for movement. I felt a force moving me into a muzzle, I still had a hard time seeing everything but now I was starting up but I felt a very warm force work against me and I soon fell asleep in the earth that held me.
***
I awoke to a light hanging above my head. I looked around but found myself unable to look over a wooden cage. Wait, I've seen this before, it's a crib. I looked at my hands as I lay on the ground and they looked small and chubby, kinda cute, like a child's hands.
“Eehheeg,” I got out, I was a child… Again? I know I lived a life before and that I was like an ‘old soul’ but to be here was insanely confusing and surreal. I tried replaying the events in my head of what happened. I started as I reminded myself of the Fact that was placed in a body that was ‘creating a soul’ would that would heal mine which, is it healed now? I decided to think of my status again just to see if I finally had my level.

All of this information came to my head, my name is Amarydith, it seemed foreign to me but I like it. but this time I was a little bit more prepared. There was a lot more information this time which was confusing, last time I didn't have any ‘Race Traits' and the ‘Primordial soul’ wasn't there. There were so many different questions I wanted to ask but, quite literally, I couldn't.
I harrumphed and tried to sit up, the task proving difficult as I reached for the wooden bearings of the crib. After a little bit of struggling I sat up impeded but what looked to be a tail? I have a tail now? I wiggled it slightly as I thought about it. It looked a black as if it were like a scorpion’s tail but instead of being close together it had many different ‘indents’ that acted as ways to make it move but between those ‘indents’ there was a tough skin, kinda like the people from earlier. It had a noticeable spine to the entire tail that had made the entire thing a bit more rounded. Without the spine, it looked flatter and ended in a dull tip, awww no stabbing. I took the tip of my tail and tried to stab the wood of the crib, it was incredibly difficult to do and didn't even leave a mark.
“Ooh-” the noise left me as I stabbed the pillow-like small bed I was laying on leaving a pretty deep tear into it. I took my tail back into my small baby arms and cuddled it as I went deeper into my status, hoping whoever my parents were wouldn't get mad at me for tearing it.

Race Features
[Mana Diversity]: Due to the race of Viscyrlan living in a stable high density area of mana the offspring of any will have an base attunement to magic ‘some rarer than others’
Is this what it means when I look at the ‘attuned’ in my status? Mine is arcane which doesn't explain anything to me, I hope it's good and the ‘magictouched’ tag it has on it doesn’t help either. If I'm ‘magictouched’ shouldn’t my attunement be magic itself?
[Carapace Armor]: Vscyrlan’s have evolved from an ancestor that had a Carapace that protected them, though the race has slowly gained humanoid-like bodies due to a (progenitor) tier race.
So this is just basically the hard parts on my skin everywhere, though mine are a little softer, is it because I'm an infant? The outer parts of my body were protected by a thicker and black carapace connected through a slightly less dense skin. The rest of my body was as I was in my past life… Skin. I took a second to try and think back to my old life to try and remember who I was, it was… Hard. I didn't exactly know who I was except that I had this drive to know more, not just about myself but the world around me. I wanted to explore and learn.
[Mana Poisoning Resistance]: The Viscyrlan race has lived many generations in a high mana dense area and has gained a passive resistance to mana poisoning; When taking in high amounts of mana the body suffers degradation because it is unable to hold the mana. The body now has a heightened amount of circulation of mana and better control of its elements and structure.
All of this mana stuff is gonna make my brain go numb. I don't know what it is fundamentally and as Charon said ‘it's part of everything’ even the very system that builds me. Hmm system, that seems like a nice name for the voice forever stuck in my head. It seems that my race has gone through a lot to get here and give me these traits which really seem like they come in handy.
Wait, magic? Something seemed to click in my head about what exactly it was, magic was something that seemed to break the laws of physics in every way and made you able to conjure fire through the works of magic itself. I had to pause to get my bearings, the information had flooded my brain as if it had finally been let free, other than fantasy novels I've read in my old life I really had no clue what this world's magic was like but finally I had a slight understanding of something.
[Hexxan Sight]: Your people have lived within a highly mana dense area and that brings the presence of the race known as Hex; creatures both from mana itself and born with magic attuned to them, they are elusive and hard to spot as if they don't want to be spotted, but your race has lived amongst them for thousands of years and evolved to be able to see them with little effort
This one is just confusing but apparently beings I shouldn’t know about… I know about? It seems impactful enough to make an entire race trait so maybe I should talk with one of these Hex.
I saw something move in the corner of my vision off to the left, I looked over with the amount of restriction my chubby baby body gave me it was quite hard but I saw a faint, ethereal blue-purple light and a tiny being about the size of me in a cushion to my left, it was not like me in the slightest it had wings of the blue like an aura around it and it fluttered them when my eyes met its. It cocked its head to the side with a stare. I felt a mana wave over me, much like when Charon had inspected me but this feeling was unique and very subtle I decided to use my own on the being.
[Hex(child)] lvl??
The Hex seemed shocked when I had used my ‘inspect’ skill on it then flew up fluttering its wing but they produced no sound and it landed in my crib. It looked at me still with its head cocked to the side. I lifted my lumpy hand at it floated closer to me it reached out with its hand as well and they touched, I felt a link between us immediately but it wasn't like Charon’s it was purely of ‘arcane’ in the property as our arcane properties connect I knew immediately he was a friend
My newfound friend floated closer as he laid down next to me as if he was tired or… Done? He seemed like he had a long day. So I didn't do anything. I just let him lay there and possibly doze off while I continued looking through my status and learning all I could.
[(Apex)Monster Borne]: The Viscyrlan race ancestor came from an ancestor that was once a monster, consumed by magic and deranged but finally had reached an (apex) evolution that allowed for sentience in a monster-like race. You gain large amounts of stats as if you were born from mana itself just as your ancestors once have but instead of deranged evolution sentience allows for calculated stat distribution.
I kinda don't understand what this means, I mean my highest stat is mana if you add it together but I have a feeling that isn't exactly what it seemed just like every one of these traits, will need later knowledge, I made a mental note, I found it extremely easy to maintain knowledge and revisit it in my brain.
[(unique)Viscyrlan Made]: Viscyrlan kind has evolved to fit their every need, heightened senses and physical capabilities are increased exponentially, attunement is easier to achieve as well as making attunement/manipulation of magics stronger.
This just makes me animal-like in every way. I guess being from a monster background makes you super strong but apparently, that was thousands of years before now and I get a boost to, basically, everything because of it. This seems kind of excessive. But then again there are probably so many other races that give something like this out there. There are so many factors that come into play so honestly I may be weak amongst everything else. And this talk about monsters rings a bad bell in my head.
[(Apex)Viscyrlan Tail]: Viscyrlans are born with tails that give a great boost to their being, some see it as restricting and others see it as a boon, tails are usually attuned with the magics that you are attuned with, rare occurrences allow different attunements with tails. The tail is built to allow for better flow of their elements and magics and can be used as a focus for magic as well. The tail of a Viscyrlan is sacred and has a deep meaning in its society making it favored by many types of magic. This attunement allows for ease of use giving more control as Viscyrlans they age giving the racial skill [Attuned Disperse] and a tethered (battery: 2000/2000)
if I'm being honest I thought this one would just explain the reason why my tail looks the way it does but apparently, it was way deeper than that. It acts as an extension of my magical capabilities and can be used to make magical Tax easier to bear. This is the first time I've seen a skill gained from the race traits and it seem to have a ‘battery’ with a capacity of 2000.
With a closer inspection of my tail in my hands, it became apparent that it was slightly oozing or expelling arcane energy, it was easy to see arcane because it was a part of me, I felt as if I could grip it and form it into my wishes or desires. Experimentation required, I made a mental note of this.
[(unique)Inquisitive Eye]: having a keen eye comes with its perks, a (progenitor) of the Viscyrlan race had mastered the eyes and passed it on. Your eyes And senses give you a little more insight on this as well as a judging outlook on things that allow for a deeper understanding and help towards doing the ‘right’ thing.
This one is really vague, I guess it helps with understanding things and giving pointers. That feels exactly right. Wait… Is it the race trait telling me that? Well, it gives me insight on some things so maybe it helped with explaining itself. That's so weird.
[(unique)Viscyrlan survival]: The ancestors of the Viscyrlan race had gone through high dense mana storms and unstable mana living in it for a long period, food was scarce and it was hard to get water. You need exponentially less food and water, except for younger-aged Viscrylans which need higher amounts of nutrition.
so my race evolved magically to need to eat less and drink less to survive. That seems extremely practical but it kind of makes me sad, I remember the food being a staple of my previous life making it more enjoyable especially with friends.
I sat there looking at my Hex friend thinking about how it felt to live with friends at my side every day, I felt a bit sorrowful because those days are forever gone
[(unique)Viscyrlan Inspiration]: The need for chasing your dreams is always a staple for civilization but for the Viscyrlans, this has been altered magically giving a higher sense of motivation for things that they love and want to achieve, this gives a boon but can be bad as ‘unbound’ skills are easier for the Viscyrlans to achieve
I've heard about these unbound skills only twice and each time I still have no idea what they are. I thought about it for a second when my brain drifted towards another thought as if it seemed natural but natural as it clicked on my brain. They are skills that are achieved through hardship and emotion rather than progression.
That thought came weirdly for me as if something filtered the base information I had in my mind. I thought for a second again and realized that it was the ‘inquisitive eye’ that allowed for the right direction of trains of thought. It was a weird concept but it made sense to me… Maybe, because of the Trait itself.
After looking back on my race traits once more and familiarizing myself with them and then it seemed, as I was about to do something else in, inquisitive eye; the trait had become more noticeable, it told me to look into my stats.
