The ruined village where almost every house were razed to the ground; only one or two of them remained standing. Survivors from this village, if there were even any, would have long left this ruined village to seek a new life elsewhere.
Among the dull colors left in the village, the red colored crosses stood out vividly outside where each house once stood. And occasionally, strong gusts of wind would travel through the village, bringing along the village dust in its journey.
This is my village, the village I’ve spent my 13 years in.
Though using the excuse of coming back here was to train in solitude to improve myself, part of me knew that I was just being curious... curious of what lay beneath our house, and what the Louxtin were actually trying to do; there has to be a deeper meaning for those mindless killings!
I’ve just arrived outside my house. All that was left were debris and a trapdoor leading down to the basement. From here, I could already feel the merciless aura coming out from the trapdoor.
Nevertheless, this is the only place where I can return to and focus all my thoughts to training. After undoing the latch, I lifted the trapdoor and climbed down into the basement. This time around, the aura was much stronger than before my sister and I left for the Divine Kingdom. Holding the sword in my sword hand, I walked towards the partition cautiously. I was ready to produce a strike at whatever it was behind the partition.
Wham..
I slammed the partition to a side and was about to strike. However, all I saw behind the partition was an empty glass cube with four yellow talismans around it; the merciless aura could be felt coming out from the box. With no clue as to what the box is and as for the four seals… it was as if they were telling me to be cautious. After deciding not to pry too deep for fear that I might lose my life upon undoing the talismans, I decided to occupy the opposite corner of the basement. Folding both my legs together, I took out my doll and together we began meditating.

As I meditated, I could feel a strong presence coming from the box…

The box lay in the corner of the basement, sealed by talismans to prevent the being within the box from escaping and pestering the villagers…
11 years ago…
“Brothers, quickly! We’ve got to seal the beast! Otherwise, it’ll recover elsewhere with a new body!”
A beast never dies.
Once its physical body is killed, its spirit will roam and hide to recover energy from its surroundings to create a new body. Worse, it can even possess a child, turning the child into a demon child despised by the living.
For a beast, its only motive is to terrorize all other beings and feed on their fear; be it beasts or human.
With its final breath, the beast stretched its arm and hurled it against the ground, releasing three blades of wind.
“Seal!”
The chant was completed and the beast’s soul was compressed into the small glass box. Though they’ve completed the seal, there wasn’t enough time for them to fully evade the attack, resulting in the group suffering major injuries; two lost a leg and one lost an eye.
“Are you guys alright? Haha.. we did it haha… my leg haha..”
“We’re alright, Leader. Just some injuries, but we’ll make it.” A member of the group replied.
The man, who just lost his eye, walked up to the beast and took the box before handing it over to his leader. “Leader, the box won’t last long. We’ve got to return quickly and let your wife handle the rest.”
“Yeah. Haha… sure does hurt… hey, why don’t you give us a hand? Haha…” With that, the man handed the box to Min Tianfei before helping him and the other member up.
Together, they left for the village.

The box was sealed in the basement with five talismans.
