I opened my eyes only to see the bright sun above my head. Wait… I’m still alive??
I hurriedly stood up and dusted my clothes. When I looked around I was surprised to see a huge crater underneath me. However, the two armies on both of my sides were more astonishing. I tried to be polite so I smiled and said “Excuse my interruption, by all means continue.” I turned around and stared walking.
“STOP!” shouted a man who was standing in front of one of the armies. His pose and demeanor was that of a warrior. Golden patterns were engraved on his white armor, and the emblem on his back reminded me of my world’s Christian cross. He seems to be the general. Speaking of which, the person standing in front of him didn’t lose. Even though he looked a bit frail and old, he was filled with dignity and elegance, and his eyes spoke of wisdom. He was wearing a loose robe embroidered with silver glowing threads, holding a long staff with gigantic gem on top. I wonder how expensive that was.
“Y-yes?” I answered with anxiety.
“Who are you? And where did you come from?” Asked the general in the robe.
“My name is Alex. I came from up there.” I said while pointing at the sky.
“Is he a dragon?” Whispered one of the soldiers.
“No, no he’s probably a celestial.” Claimed another soldier.
“Why would a celestial descend??”
Those soldiers sure have a good imagination.
“SILENCE!” Shouted the warrior general.
“I’ll ask you one more time. Where did you come from?” asked the general with a robe.
I don’t think it’s a good idea to tell them the truth. They wouldn’t believe me anyway. I should just lie and get the hell out of here.
“I was traveling and an accident occurred.” I’ll leave it to their imagination.
“I see… HOLY KAEL! Today I claimed that if a man fell from the sky we shall stop, and a man did fall, it seems luck is on your side. WE SHALL STOP! But do keep in mind that our conquest WILL never stop. We shall meet again on the battle field that is.
After he finished saying that, the robed general turned to look at me and smiled while saying. “Now, young man come with us. How can I possibly let the reason of our conquest’s delay to walk off??”
I can’t trust them, but I can’t run away, and I need a place to stay in until I know what I’ll be doing next.
“Very well, I accept the invitation, and I hope there will be no enmity between us.” I said to the robed general.
“Good.” He replied
Afterwards, the men took their mounts and started their march towards their country with long, albeit solemn faces.
After a while, I mustered my courage and said “Umm… Sir, might I ask who you are?
“I am the head mage of sarion sorcerer’s dynasty ((Lispen traverse)).”
“Sir. Lispen?”
“You may call me that, let’s go.”
I sat on the general’s horse behind him. The ride was by no means entertaining… Especially when I spent it hugging a man’s back… Totally not enjoyable. A few soldiers snickered while passing, and some looked at me with contempt, probably because I couldn’t ride a horse. You cannot blame me after all I spent all my life studying, and studying. Trying my best to fulfill my father’s expectations I even helped him build the cosmos gate.

My thoughts were interrupted by the general’s question “What are you thinking, boy?”
“Nothing. By the way, how long will it take us to arrive to the capital of your dynasty?” I asked.
“First we’ll go to our colony city and organize the troops, then we’ll depart for our two weeks journey to the capital [Evan garde].”
“Evan Garde?” I asked.
“Yes, Evan Garde is the dynasty’s biggest city, and the center of all trades. Ernst Magical Institute is also located in it.” He explained.
I processed what he said and stopped at a point “Ernst Magical Institute?” I asked
“Yes, it is also the biggest magical institute in the continent. It has the best facilities, and instructors with all different affinities. It is also related to the magical guild, and is funded by the royal academy. Only the best geniuses can enter. How do you not know this? Its common sense, even a poor child would know it.”
“My memory is quite fuzzy, for some reason. Perhaps the fall damaged my brain. Anyway I’ll regain my memories after sometime, probably.” I answered to the general’s question.
After that, I caught a glimpse of the walls surrounding the city. And it was HUGE, easily surpassing fifty meters of length. Soldiers were patrolling on the walls, and when they saw us the opened the gate for us. We marched inside passing by people. Everyone was staring at us with awe and reverence. Some even bowed when they saw sir. Lispen. They didn’t even look at me, perhaps it’s a normal sight for them. A man riding behind their head mage, that is. Passing the bustling streets, we arrived to a mansion. It was a beautiful sight. Gardens surrounded it, giving colour to the white mansion. Sculptors were engraved on the walls, and the marble floor glistened under the sunlight. The mansion wasn’t huge, nut it was extravagant enough for a noble to live in.
“Is this for a noble?” I asked.
“No. This was the city lord’s mansion, but after we took control of this city we made it the headquarters for our rule.” He replied.
“This city, [Aegis] was known for its impenetrable defense. Forever protecting the empire from heathens, us. Some even claimed it to be a gift from their god [Kael]. However we have conquered it.” He continued.
“What about the people, they didn’t seem hostile?” I asked.
“Of course those people are from the dynasty. All the original citizens escaped to the nearest city. As for those who couldn’t, they killed themselves claiming that they cannot live under the rule of heathens… those fools. Anyway I’ll assign some maids to you and they’ll lead you to your room while I take care of my business. It will take a couple of days meanwhile you can stroll around the city. Keep in mind if you run away I will hunt you down to the end of this world.”
