A young man named Suzaku Toshiba from class 2-B sat in the auditorium of Okinawa West Senior High School in Okinawa, where a beautiful girl named Koharu Nakagawa, the student council president, came up to the stage where she introduced herself.

“Hello everyone, thanks for coming today. My name is Koharu Nakagawa, I am the student council president for this year, it is a  pleasure to meet you all”

The crowd cheered.

The friend, sitting next to him was Yuya Takamiya who replied to Suzaku

“Isn’t she a beauty? I still can’t believe we had such a beautiful girl as our school council president in our school”

“yeah isn’t it?”

“I think it’s time I made my declaration, I will join the anime cosplay club. What about you Suzaku?”

“I join the robotics club.”

“That’s great.”

Koharu spoke to the crowd.

“Hope you find your club activities that match you perfectly, that’s all I got to say, so all the best for the current academic year.”

The crowd gave a round of applause.

Now the crowd returned to their classrooms. In class 2-B, there were a total of 35 students in the class including Yuya and Suzaku.

After the students were seated in their respective seats, they were waiting for their homeroom teacher.

“When will the homeroom class start?”, replied Yuya to Suzaku.

“We will have to wait for it.” Said Suzaku to Yuya

When the homeroom teacher arrived at the classroom, all the students stood up, bowed, and said “Good morning sir”

“Good morning everyone,” said the homeroom teacher.

“Today we’ll be starting a lesson named ‘The Crane Wife’ but before that, we will introduce a new student in our classroom”

A tall, beautiful, dark blue-haired, blue-eyed girl had arrived in our classroom. She wrote her name on the writing board and introduced herself.

“Pleased to meet you all. My name is Mana Kurosaki, please take good care of me”

Everyone shouted in our class.

“Another beauty in our class, that is awesome”

“Okay, Mana, you can take a seat next to Suzaku”

“Okay sir”, she replied and sat beside Suzaku.

“Hi Mana”, said Suzaku.

“Hello Suzaku”, replied Mana.

Suzaku saw the rest of the boys except Yuya looking at him with jealousy. Suzaku said, “Please don’t look at me like that.”

“Okay then, we shall now begin our homeroom class”, said the homeroom teacher.

When students were making notes for the lesson that the teacher was teaching, Suzaku accidentally slipped his pencil off the table. Mana bent down to pick up the pencil and gave it to Suzaku.

“Thank you, Mana”, said Suzaku.

“You’re welcome”, replied Mana.

Suzaku received a hit from a paper ball thrown by one of the boys in the class.

“Ow! What was that for?” replied Suzaku.

The homeroom teacher noticed that and gave detention to the student who threw it.

Curious to know what was written inside the paper ball, Suzaku opened the paper ball and read it,

“STAY AWAY FROM OUR BEAUTY!!!”

Suzaku turned around to see the boys staring at him with jealousy and anger. Suzaku didn’t care much about it and threw it into the dustbin.

A few hours later, during the lunch break when everyone started eating their lunch, Mana approached Suzaku and said,

“Can you show me the school surroundings, Suzaku?”

“Sure, why not?” said Suzaku

All the boys in the class approached Mana and said to her,

“Forget Suzaku, we will show you around”

“Thanks for the help, but he is enough for me”

The boys turned away from Mana and became sad and jealous of Suzaku.

“Okay then, can you show me around?” said Mana.

“Sure, I will show you around.”, replied Suzaku.

He and Mana went to the ground floor, went to the first corner of the corridor, reached the principal’s cabin, and said “This is the principal’s room.” From the inside, it is an air-conditioned room with a waiting lobby and two cabin rooms having separate air conditioners.

“Wow, that looks beautiful.”, said Mana.

“Yeah, right?”, said Suzaku.

Both of them exited the cabin and went straight and reached a certain room. Suzaku said “This is the council room.” The room looked like a meeting room, no, a conference room. Koharu sat in that room alone and greeted both Mana and Suzaku, “Hi, Good Afternoon.”

Both of them replied, “Good afternoon, President.”

Koharu said, “Oh, drop the honorifics, you can call me Koharu-san. By the way, are you here for joining a club?”

Suzaku replied, “Not yet, but we both shall decide on it later. Anyway, I am here to show the different rooms to Mana.”

“Mana? So you’re a new student at this school. Did I get it right?”

Mana replied, “Yes, I am a new student at this school.”

“Anyway, the clubs around here are interesting and with your experience towards this, you will love it, so try joining a club, but it is important to balance both club activities and your academics, you get it right?

“Yeah, I got it, Koharu-san, I will excel in both club activities and academics.”

Suzaku said, “Ok then, I will take her around, lunchtime is getting past, and I will have to eat after showing her around.”

Koharu replied, “Ok then, go ahead, thanks for inquiring me.”

“You’re welcome, Koharu-san.”, said both Mana and Suzaku, and both left the room.”

Koharu sighed, opened her smartwatch and communicated with an unknown person, said to that person, “A Class 1 threat has approached here, is the project complete?”

“Don’t worry, the project Sakura is underway to its completion but some of the test bodies have failed, only a few of the test bodies are still active”

“Please do it quick, sir, we don’t have much time.”, and switched off her smartwatch.

On the other side, both reached the quadrangle and Suzaku said “The rest of the rooms are classrooms on this floor.”

Suzaku and Mana reached the first floor. Suzaku said, “The right side is the classrooms, let’s come to the left side.” Suzaku and Mana reached the left side after climbing up the stairs, reached the entrance of the nearby room, and opened its doors. “This is the anime cosplaying and story club”, said Suzaku.

The room has a small table for small discussions, a wardrobe full of anime cosplay outfits and props, and a book rack filled with manga and ranobe manuscripts in it.

“Wow it looks beautiful.”, said Mana.

“Yeah right? But my friend Yuya said he wants to join this club”

“Oh, that’s great, looks like your friend wants to aspire to greater heights in this subject. Hey, are you an otaku like him?”

“Yes I am, are you thinking this is a fault of mine?”

“No, not really, I admire you for that. Anyway, this is the first time I heard about this word and animes. As you’re hungry, let’s finish this exploration a little bit quicker.”

“Yeah, I’ll finish this quicker. As you noticed, it is common for each room to have windows.”

Suzaku closed the doors of the club room and proceeded to the next club room with Mana and opened its doors.

“This is the cooking club.”

The room has a cupboard for ingredients, a stove in front of the wall, and aprons at the opposite of that cupboard.

Both exited the room and reached to the next room and opened its doors.

“This is the robotics club.”

The room has a cupboard for components, the floor has sticking black tape for the currently built line following robot, There are four high-spec desktop computers to build new AI.

Both exited the room and reached the next room and opened its doors.

“This is the arcade game studio club.”

The room has a cupboard for idea manuscripts, six high-spec computers to play up-to-date games and game editors, another cupboard having game CDs.

Both exited the room and reached outside the current block they were in.

“The rest of the rooms are three other clubs, there are other clubs but it is there in the other blocks. The second floor has labs for the three science subjects, the rest of the rooms are classrooms, but on the third floor, there is an activity room and on the ground floor, there is an infirmary with qualified doctors, from the top hospitals in Japan. Now that we reached this block’s exit, there is plenty of space to walk and park the vehicles. If we take a left, we see a block that is for classrooms for elementary and middle schoolers. If we take southwest from here, we see sports area. This area has a badminton court that can be interchangeably used as basketball court, swimming pool, and ground for other sports, there is a building for the sports club. If we take southeast from here, we see the cafeteria, it is big and spacious. At the top floor of this building, there is an auditorium where we can see annual programmes. If we go northwest, we see the vehicles parking and recreational area. If we go northeast, we see the library. That’s all for today. Now that I am hungry. Let’s return to class, we have still 20 minutes to eat”, said Suzaku.

A few minutes later, after returning to the class, Mana approached Yuya and Suzaku and spoke,

“Um, can you both try my homemade bento? It’s amazingly delicious. I bought two boxes and I will share one box with both of you”

“Thanks a lot, we will take it”, said Suzaku.

When they opened the box, they were shocked. The box contained omurice, onigiri, and miso soup, all with a weird look.

The omurice looked green and weird, the onigiri looked overcooked and the miso soup emitted a strange color.

With one gulp in their mouth, Suzaku and Yuya replied,

“Thanks for the food, we shall now eat.”

Suzaku and Yuya ate one spoon of omurice which tasted very bland.

“This is so bland, it is not so good”, replied Suzaku and Yuya.

“At least can you try the onigiri and miso soup”, replied Mana.

When they ate onigiri, they choked up, saying,

“What the hell is this? this is too salty.”

When they drank the miso soup, they nearly fainted and replied,

“What is this? This tastes more awful and salty.”

“I am so sorry, I forgot that I am bad at cooking.”

“Why didn’t you say that sooner?” said Suzaku and Yuya.

“Anyways, thanks for the food once again” replied Suzaku.

“I will try mending my cooking skills”, said Mana.

“It’s okay, no problem”, said Suzaku

After three periods of math, chemistry, and physics, when it was almost evening, the students started packing their bags and started leaving for their homes and part-time jobs. Some students stayed behind for cleaning jobs and club activities.

Suzaku was found sleeping in the class in the last period. Mana and Yuya stayed behind in the classroom to wake him up.

“What?! was I sleeping in the class once again?!” said Suzaku in a sleepy tone.

“Well you were sleeping only on the last period,” replied Mana.

Suzaku turned towards Yuya who was also sitting beside him and said;

“Yuya, why didn’t you wake me up?”

“I’m sorry, it would disturb the class if I woke you up.”

“By the way, would you guys mind if I walk with you guys home?” said Mana.

“Yes you can, we don’t mind,” said Yuya.

The three started packing their bags and left the school building. When they were walking on their way back home, Suzaku asks Mana.

“Do you watch anime and like them”

“No, I haven’t watched them,”

“Oh that’s too sad, it’s okay, by the way, where is your home”

“My home is not far away, just a few minutes walk from here”

After reaching a nearby convenience store, Mana stopped and told Suzaku and Yuya,

“I will stop by here and buy some snacks for my parents.” 

“Ok then, we’ll part here, bye.”

“bye-bye.”

So then Suzaku and Yuya left and walked to their homes.

Mana waited for a while and ran toward the dead end between the two houses located near the convenience store, where she pulled out an invisible phone that turned into a strange-looking phone where she turned on her communication systems and started speaking with an unknown entity on that strange-looking phone.

“Well how is the meetup with the victim I told you to scout out for?” said the strange-looking entity.

“Yeah, it went on well”, said Mana.

“Ok then everything is going according to our plan, do you remember why we are targeting that victim?”

“Yeah, because he is the son of that miserable person who killed my parents, and also the power source of the WKPD (World killing power destroyer)”

“Yes, that’s right, we will kill that victim, activate the WKPD, destroy humanity and take over the world, muhahahahaha!!!”

Mana giggled and started laughing maniacally.

The strange-looking entity replied to Mana, “Well, that’s enough, come back now”

“yes I will.”, said Mana.

A strange-looking light shone over Mana and teleported in a flash of light to an unknown location.

Yuya and Suzaku walked for a mile and stopped by a comic bookstore to buy the new volume of ‘My first love story in an animal school”

“Do you know Suzaku? This manga is one of the top mangas read in the whole of Japan”

“Yeah, I know. You know what, I personally love R in Okamigawa because of her looks and coolness. I love her even though she has a tragic backstory with the main protagonist”

“Yeah, that’s true, hey you know what, after I come to your house, shall we watch a football match?”

“Sure, why not?”

Yuya and Suzaku walked two miles from the comic bookstore and reached their homes, Yuya’s home is a few steps away from Suzaku’s home and both are next-home neighbors to each other. Their parents are best friends with each other. Yuya’s dad buys beer with Suzaku’s dad and they both drink together and have sleepovers at each other’s house after their work.

While reaching their destination, Yuya goes to Suzaku’s house to watch a football match between the teams C.F. Monterrey and Yokohama F.C.

“Alrighty, the match begins, my disliked Monterrey jack cheese versus the glorious Yokohama.”, said Yuya.

“Says you who is wearing the same cheese jersey.”, said Suzaku.

“Yeah, you’re right about that. WHAT? EEK!!!”, said Yuya looking at himself wearing a C.F. Monterrey jersey. He ran to his home, reached his bedroom, changed his jersey immediately, put on a normal T-shirt, and came back to the living room of Suzaku’s house.

“Please don’t blame me for it, I received this jersey from my father while he was overseas and said that this jersey didn’t match him, gave it to me, and was wearing it as a normal T-shirt ever since then. Ok then, let's see the match.”

Suzaku’s mom arrived and gave both Yuya and Suzaku sandwiches and some tortilla chips to eat as snacks while watching the match. Suzaku’s mom was surprised and said, “Hi there, Yuya, I have not seen you lately, where have you been?”

“Auntie, I have been going to the newly constructed park in Gushikawa with my family. My little sister wants the whole family to go there, but currently, my sister and my parents are off to the nearby aquarium and I am currently alone, that is why I came to your house.”

“You mean the Hanasaki Aquarium? Suzaku’s little sister and his dad also went there. What a coincidence. Anyway, are you sure that you have locked the house and have the keys with you?”

“Yes, I have the keys and locked the doors properly.”

“Ok then, you guys can continue with the match.”

“Ok”, said both.

While the match was running, the commentator said,” Oh, look at this player, carrying the ball with both nooks and crooks, away from the opposing players and it’s a GOAL!!! From the C.F. Monterrey, Corona!!!”

Yuya said, ”Goddamn you, Coronavirus!!!”

Suzaku replied, “Ah, seriously, why are you giving funny names to these players?”

“To express my frustration, look at that, Jennifer Lopez has scored another goal for my disliked Monterrey Jack cheese.”

“Seriously again?! That player’s name is Victor Lopez, anyway, give it a break already and change it to a news channel. I hope Yokohama will win this match.”

“Sure, I will change it.”, expressed in a boring tone and changed the channel.

Suzaku said, “Hey can you look at the screen for a second?”

Yuya replied, “Wha-? What happened?”

 They both saw that the news was showing a city in America, in the worst situation possible. The news announcer said, “ Today in Washington D.C. there is a massacre that happened around 2 PM where the entire city was halfway destroyed. Similar incidents happened in Boston and Texas, where numerous amount of people were killed by aliens from outer space. Here’s an exclusive speech from the U.S president,”

“Hello everyone, as you already know that this massacre happened, we will never forgive the aliens for what they have done to us. We shall repel them from our world. We have countermeasures that are underway to be dealt with. We’ll make sure that our planet is safe from these extraterrestrial threats.”

“So that’s it from our side, other nations, call to them, if your country faces the same. Thank you.”

“Man, that was shocking, wasn’t it?”, said Suzaku.

“Yeah that is unlikely to happen in our country because our population is less.”, replied Yuya.

“Ya think so?”

“I don’t know let’s find out.”

At night, when Yuya was back from his home, his phone rang a message ringtone. Yuya picked up the phone and saw the message. It was Koharu who had sent the message and it said, “MEET ME AT THE COUNCIL ROOM SECRETLY AFTER THE LUNCH BREAK, TOMORROW, SHARP!”

“Oh dear, looks like I have to.”

The next day, both Suzaku and Yuya are off to school where the usual first five periods of math, physics, chemistry, biology, and history finish off.

During the lunch break, Mana approached Suzaku and Yuya and said, “Um, guys, do you want to taste my bento again?”

Both said, “No, we don’t want to. NOT AGAIN THIS TIME!!!”

“Ohh, that’s too bad. But that’s okay. Hey, can you guys accompany me home after class?”

Yuya said, “I can’t come with you, but you can ask Suzaku to come. Because the class president called me and I have an appointment with her after lunch. So Suzaku, have fun with the most beautiful girl in our class, see ya!!!”

“Ok see ya later!!!” replied Suzaku.

Now the last two periods finished as well. Suzaku slept again in the last period. But Mana woke him up when there were only 10 minutes.

“Thank you, Mana.”

“you’re welcome.”

After the conclusion of the last period, Suzaku and Mana packed their bags and left the school building.

While walking, Suzaku spoke to Mana, “Hey, you know, many people died in America because of the aliens from outer space, I am really sad about this.”

“yeah, really, really sad indeed.”, she let out a smirk and giggled.

“Ok, why are you laughing and giggling?”, said Suzaku.

“Oh, sorry, I got carried away and was thinking a joke.”

“And what is that joke?”

“It goes on like this, what is the name of a creature that drinks blood and has webbed feet? Count Duckula!”

Suzaku laughed and said, “What a good joke.”

After walking a few miles from the school building, they reached the same convenience store that they reached yesterday. Mana said, “Follow me from this point from now on.”

“Oh, ok.”

Now Suzaku followed Mana as she directed. His phone rang the message ringtone where he opened his phone and saw the message sent by Yuya which said “RUN AWAY FROM HER, SHE’S GONNA KILL YOU!!!”

“Oh, who was that?”, said Mana.

“Oh, it’s nothing, it was my friend Yuya. He told me a crazy thing that I had to run away from you.”

“Well as you know I am not that kind of a person so feel safe when you’re around me.”

“Ok, if you say so.”

As they walked, they reached a dead-end, feeling strange, Suzaku asked Mana, “Wait, this is a dead-end.”

“Hey Suzaku, you know what is the time? It’s the time for your demise.”

“Mana, I don’t know what you’re talking about, please tell me what’s going on?”

“IT’S TIME FOR YOUR OBLIVION, SUZAKU!”

Saying this, she transformed into her alien armor with heavy metals all over her body, metal gauntlets, full metal stockings, diamond-shaped wings, a visor that covered her eyes, a headband that had the symbol of an eye, and everything that is alien technology. Her skin color turned light blue due to the alien technology. A gun appeared from thin air on the hand of that girl and she shot at Suzaku, but luckily it missed because the laser bullet went onto the shoulder part of his blazer and hit on the ground.

Suzaku ran away from her. After exiting the dead-end, he said to himself, “Oh shoot! If only I should have taken his message seriously, none of this would have ever happened.”

As he ran and looked around, he saw that the whole city was being attacked by the aliens that had attacked some of the states of America. The aliens destroyed the buildings, took the lives of many people, and transported the dead bodies through a green laser light.

“What, the aliens are also attacking here as well, it looks like they won’t stop until all of the humanity is wiped out.”

While running, his phone rang. It was a call from his mother. Suzaku took up the phone and attended the call. His mother said, “Suzaku, both your father and your sister were kidnapped by an unknown alien. Please come back ho-“

Mana used her laser gun and destroyed Suzaku’s phone.

“Oh crap!”, said Suzaku.

While running away from her, his head started paining and his irises started blinking red.

“AAAHHH”, screamed Suzaku as he fell on the ground.

“Just accept your fate, Suzaku.”, said Mana as she pointed the laser gun at Suzaku.

“Those aliens destroyed the town, kidnapped my family, and now, am I about to die? Power, if only I had power, power to save humanity, power to save my family, power to escape this fate, power not to lose against those who trouble my loved ones!!!”, said Suzaku.

Suddenly his irises became glowing red. Yuya and Koharu ran from behind and shouted as Mana shot the gun, “NOOOOOO!!!”

Suzaku unwillingly waved his hand and unknowingly deflected the laser bullet to the ground, stood up and screamed. An unknown force repelled Mana.

“What, that’s impossible. This pressure and power, it can’t be!!!”

From the other side, in the lab where Project Sakura was conducted, a female body inside the tube started shaking violently. Its heart started beating violently. Its eyes opened sharply and it glowed bright red, started screaming, and broke the tube. The body turned into red light particles and teleported to Suzaku’s body.

Suzaku’s body is surrounded by a bright red light that covers his entire body including his face. The same red light particles surrounded his body and entered into him. His entire body physique changed and meta morphed into the body of a girl

Now the bright red light disappeared. Suzaku, who regained control over his body, said, “Am I still alive? Suddenly my body feels light.”

It looks like Suzaku became a girl where he has black hair with red hair strands, and red eyes, wearing a black gothic outfit with boots.

Looking at Suzaku, Yuya had a nosebleed, saying, “What? Suzaku turned into a girl?”

“Whaaat?”, Suzaku took a look at himself and saw that he has all the features of a girl. “You’re right, I am a girl.” When he about to touch his chest, Koharu said, “Stop touching there, I am going to beat you up if you do that.”

“Sorry! Koharu-san”, said Suzaku.

Koharu thought, “but this is impossible, those test bodies choose only the army people in Japan, but how can it chose a civilian? “

Mana intervened and said, “Change is nothing, you will meet your oblivion now.”

Saying that, she fired an another bullet from her gun, but then, Suzaku saw a vision where the shadow of that girl form waved her hand to deflect the bullet. Suzaku did the same and that bullet got deflected and hit the ground.

Mana was shocked and ordered some of her minions to attack Suzaku. He saw another vision of the same girl who used one of her hands to shove in the air and launched the dark spikes from the ground to impale her enemy. Suzaku did the same and killed some of the minions. Some more minions came to Mana’s aid and they alongside Mana attacked Suzaku.

Suzaku thought, “lemme try some of my karate moves, let's see what happens.”

He used normal punches on those alien minions. Those punches got amplified with that girl’s shadow power. Those minions were killed instantly.

“Why you!!!”, said Mana furiously and tried to punch Suzaku, but his lightweight girl body allowed him to dodge it effortlessly. He punched Mana at the stomach.

“AHH”, screamed Mana.

“Yikes! I hit a girl, well that doesn’t matter cause I am a girl anyway.”

Mana received a voice communication from an unknown entity that said, “Retreat for now. It’s okay”

“Roger that.” Said Mana and teleported back into the alien spaceship.

As some of the ships started flying away, Koharu said to Suzaku, “Those ships are carrying the kidnapped, use your powers to destroy those ships and use shadow blanket to save them.”

“Got it.”, said Suzaku. He jumped and floated in the air and chanted, “SHADOW BIND”. Immediately the shadow chains from a dark portal bound those ships. He shouted, “SHADOW TELEPATHY”. Using this he communicated with the victims with his mind saying, “people, stay away from the line that I am indicating cause I am going to save you so please listen to me.” Inside the ship, red lines appeared and the kidnapped moved away from the lines. Suzaku launched a shadow projectile and sliced the ship into half. People started falling down from the sliced ship. Suzaku now chanted, “SHADOW BLANKET”. A blanket of shadow appeared that saved the falling people. Mana in the main mothership exclaimed, “goddamn him!”

Now the strange entity spoke in that ship through voice comms, “Mission may be failed, but we’ll get them next time.”

The people now were reunited with their families. Suzaku got exhausted and transformed back into who he was before, as a boy. Suzaku’s father and sister ran and hugged Suzaku and said, “we thought we’d never see you again.”

“yeah it’s all thanks to that girl.”

Yuya and Koharu approached Suzaku. Yuya said, “now that she became the hero of this day, what would you like to call her?”

Suzaku said, “I will call her Sakura, Sakura Yamigawa, that is her name. Anyway, Koharu-san, is it the end?”

Koharu replied, “this is not the end, this is just the beginning. They will prepare for a counterattack, we have to be prepared, so we still have a long way to go.”

“Ok then.” Said Suzaku and heaved a sigh of relief.
