Chapter 1 - I'm a Sorcerer

Chapter 1 - I'm a Sorcerer

Near a small hill that was hidden deep in the forest, an army consisting of approximately a hundred soldiers was up against another army with the same amount of troops. On one side of the conflict, the armor wore by them had an emblem carved into it. The emblem had five lions on it, with the exception of one being larger than the others whilst in the middle. The other side of the conflict bore emblems aswell, but theirs was covered with a black cross with roses surrounding it.

The battle was intense: swords clashed against eachother, arrows hit their human targets and even fire was thrown like a ball against the enemy. Thanks to the principles of magic, it was possible to accomplish all sorts of events, like splitting a rock in a single hit or creating massive gusts of wind that could blow away an entire person. Such was the power of mana, a resource that magic relies on.

The conflict was about to come to an end as both sides seemed to have annihilated eachother down to the core, with only two soldiers left alive. The battle had already reached next to the small hill when the two of them stared at eachother furiously.

"Is that all you got, you dirty loratians?!" Yelled the man who had the lion emblem on his armor, while coughing out blood from his internal injuries. His wounds were definitely beyond the limits that a normal human could bare, but he was still clumsily standing up.

"You have good vitality for someone as filthy as a morian." Said the other standing individual with cross-rose emblem on his armor. His injuries could be considered worse than his opponent's, but he still had energy left within him to make a final stand.

The man labelled as a morian tightened his grip on the steel sword in his hands and started slowly limping towards the loratian.

"Hah! This is why you warriors can't compete with us, sorcerers. In the end, what decides the victor is talent!" Said the loratian loudly while being joyous of his victory. He knew that the big distance between the two was enough to determine the conditions of success in casting his spell.

"Consume the enemies in flame, fireball!" Chanted the loratian while having his left hand in the direction of the severely wounded morian warrior who wasn't fast enough to reach his opponent. At the brink of a moment, fire started forming itself infront of the sorcerer's hand until it shaped into a ball before launching as an attack.

As the bright flames approached the warrior, he saw the end to his life and closed his eyes in acceptance. Death was unavoidable at this point.

Until suddenly, from the rocky part of the hill, a large square chunk of stone flew right towards the fireball, exterminating it quickly. It didn't stop there, it flew forward the next couple hundred meters, crushing anything that stood in its path until it finally came to a stop due to the lack of momentum.

Both of the men who were in combat just moments ago were staring staring at eachother, their mouths fully open and their eyes wide from shock. Before they could even start thinking, they quickly turned their head towards the hill where the rock flew from.

There was a square hole in the hill and a man standing right infront of it!

Injuried, yet sane, the two combatants couldn't comprehend that the one who sent the rock flying was man. They thought it was definitely the work of a strong beast. Just who was this man with peerless physical beauty that could be considered as powerful as his strength, if not more powerful!

"Hmm..." Voiced the mysterious man after looking at the environment around the hill. Some of the trees were set alight from the battle and many dead bodies were still bleeding out on the ground.

"So irresponsible!" He said out loud.

The two baffled individuals felt a shared thought, 'You randomly throw a boulder and call us out on irresponsibility?!', yet they did not dare say it out loud in fear of his strength.

"OH! People! Where did you come from?" Said the mysterious man after noticing the two surviving members of the battle.

'You notice us now?!' The two shared a thought again.

"Forgive me, my mind is still a bit disoriented from my most recent accomplishment"

After saying that, the man started laughing out loud, while the other two still kept thinking...

"WHO IN THE WORLD ARE YOU?!" They yelled out loud despite trying to keep their question private. After daring to ask that question, they immediately regretted it out of fear. But the mysterious man didn't have any hostile plans and smiled before saying,

"I'm a sorcerer!"
