Not getting stronger
When Theo, Clark, and Elena arrived behind Elena’s house, Peter Hudson was already there, waiting for them with his wooden sword in his hand. Looking at them with a smile, he confidently said, “Today, all three of you are going to fight against me.”
Using his unique skill, 《Identify》, Theo observed Peter’s stats and smirked as he was excited to have the chance to fight Elena’s father, Peter Hudson.

Using regularly his unique skill everyday《Identify》, it was now level 5 and was able to gather as many information than his character profile. He couldn’t see one’s weaknesses yet, but it was already amazing to have most of the target’s strength, skills, and magic resistance.
As the son of the Hudson house, Peter was a former knight working for the kingdom of Heoryn. Even though he didn’t manage to earn much glory during 《The Third Conquest War》, he was still a top-tier knight within the country until the day that he retired.
Back in the game, Peter joined 《The Demon King’s Subjugation》 after learning that her daughter, Elena was joining it as well. After learning that the demon general Sargatanas have captured her daughter, he received Clark’s agreement to lead an army to Beirun and conquered the city back in less than three days.
It was a feat that amazed Hiro as he recalled the epic cinematic of Hudson Peter piercing through Sargatanas’ army with his army. His strong point was his astonishing high defence which allowed him to protect his allies, the damages the soldiers suffered during that attack amounted to less than a few dozens of soldiers; it was how amazing his defensive abilities were.
To receive the training of such a strong knight, Hiro felt honoured. Not only could he strengthen himself, but Clark and Elena also benefited from him as well. As Theo was Identifying Peter, Theo also looked for a way to obtain Peter’s skills that could not get until now. The reasons for it were the few combat skills he had as well as the excellent defensive abilities he had.

After thinking of a good plan to force Peter to use, at least one of his skill, Theo then tapped Clark and Elena’s shoulder before whispering, “We need to cooperate to win against him. I might have a good idea. Elena you are going to…”
Finishing to plan their strategy, Theo, Clark, and Elena took their position by surrounding Peter. It was one of the advantages they had from him.
“That plan is interesting.” Seeing them surrounding him, Peter couldn’t help from congratulating their intelligent thinking.
Elena was facing him while Clark and Theo were taking him on the side. It was a triangular formation which was Peter often used during his training as a knight.
But since he already knows the weaknesses of such formation, Peter only smiled wryly and indicated them to come at him by waving his left hand which didn’t hold the wooden sword.
Nodding their heads, signalling that they were going to start the fight, the three of them attacked Peter simultaneously. They were closed enough to him thanks to the advantage given to them.
Nodding his head, Peter acknowledged that it was a good attack. He then blocked Elena’s strike with his left hand, and with a spin of 180°, he attacked both Theo and Clark, using his wooden sword. His hit was not that strong, but it was still strong enough to send both of them flying a few meters backwards.
“Elena, now!” Predicting such outcome, Theo shouted at Elena while he was still in the air.
Waiting for that opportunity, Elena released her wooden sword before lowering her upper body and swept with her right leg, Peter’s left leg. With Elena’s agility and strength, it was quick and strong enough to take Peter in surprise.
Losing his balance due to Elena’s sweep, Theo and Clark rebalanced in mid-air before charging once again towards Peter to attack him simultaneously.
Now that he lost his balance, it was more difficult for Peter to block their attack unlike before. But it was only what Theo, Elena, and Clark thought at that moment.
Peter, who remained calm, received both Theo and Clark’s strikes with his ≪Body Hardening Technique≫. He didn’t sustain a lot of damages due to the technique and with his wooden sword, sent flying both Theo and Clark once again.
Sheathing his wooden sword, Peter clapped his hands and said, “I truly underestimated you guys. You’ve quickly progressed a lot, and I needed to use half of my strength to win against the three of you. But apart from my daughter Elena, both of you need to improve your swordsmanship. You guys are still too reckless and don’t use your sword proficiently.”
He never expected them to have such good teamwork and even planned such a strategy. They were already powerful enough when they team up together, and it was unnecessary for them to train their collaboration anymore.
Receiving Peter’s guidance, both Theo and Clark nodded their head. Seeing that they accepted his advice, he nodded satisfied and instructed, “I saw that you guys have good coordination, but your individual experience is lacking. We’ll now start the individual training, Clark you’ll start first.”
The lesson continued with individual training. Clark, Theo, and Elena fought against Peter one by one until the sun started to set. To be honest, it was more a one side beating instead of a fight, but it still improved each of them effectively.
Heading back to Elena’s house, Theo and Clark put back the wooden sword they borrowed. Peter asked them if they wanted to eat there, but they politely refused. They then left Elena’s house and headed back home.
Once they were in front of Clark’s house, Theo separated with Clark after saying goodbye to him. He then walked towards his house and entered it.
“Welcome home. Did you have a nice day?” Seeing her son entering the house, Solene welcomed him.
“Yeah, I had a good day. I played a lot with Clark and Elena.” Theo answered.
“I see. The dinner will be ready within 1 hour. You can still play around the house until then.”
Nodding his head, Theo said, “Hum. I’ll go to train outside behind the house.” Before leaving the house.
He then went behind the house and started his evening training which consisted of 5 different technique of pumps numbering in a total of 50 pushes up, 50 squats, and 50 abdominal crunches.
It was daily training that he first started after reaching three years old, of course with lesser exercises compared to now. Finishing his evening training, he wiped off the sweats on his forehead and headed back home.
Entering the house, his father had already returned and both of his parents preparing the table. After eating dinner, Theo washed his dish and quickly headed to his bedroom before laying down on the bed.
‘It has been more than five years since I reincarnated already…There are only two months left before that event, but I still didn’t become strong enough.’ Theo thought while looking at the wooden ceiling, depressed.
The event he was referring to was the attack of the demon as well as the beginning of the game. It was also the day when Clark awakened his class, the class [Hero] and the day of Theo’s death.
Opening his character profile, Theo wanted to confirm either he learned the active skill that he obtained from Peter.

Looking at his current stats, Theo let out a depressed sigh. He was weak, way too weak.
Theo didn’t even level up once since he reincarnated in this world. The only reason for that was because he couldn’t exit the village at all due to Elena’s father, Peter Hudson being a gatekeeper. And since he couldn’t level up, he couldn’t become stronger as well. It was a vicious cycle which haunted him for two years.
The only way he knows to raise his stats without levelling was to hard work physical training, which means practising exercise. He discovered that way after starting his first physical training on the day after his third-year’s birthday.
After finishing his first physical training, Theo noticed the +1 strength notification he received after exercising. Since then, he started training all his stats when he could train it, by running, studying, practising physical training, and fighting.
There was another problem he had on top of his stats. It was the lack of people with useful skills.
Although Theo could learn a skill after watching it for the first time, it was meaningless if there weren’t people with those useful skills such as Magic Skills, Crafting Skills, and Combat Skills. It gave him a headache just by thinking about it because he couldn’t learn much of those in this village.
Fortunately, he learned a few useful skills thanks to his mother, the shop owner of the blacksmith shop, and Elena’s father. He first obtained the active skill ≪Heal≫ from his mother, Solene after getting injured when he was still a child.
He then obtained the crafting skill ≪Blacksmithing≫ thanks to the shop owner and the active skill ≪Body Hardening Technique≫, the passive skill ≪Knight’s Basics≫, and the ≪Sword Mastery≫ thanks to Elena’s father, Peter, this very day.
Another problem was that after learning them, he needed to level up those skills. It was too much time-consuming to level them up.
The earlier level, the level 0 to the level 4 was not that hard, but it still took Theo more than several days to do that. But the main problem was after reaching level 4.
He tried to level up the unique skill ≪Identify≫ to the level 4 but never managed to succeed once since last year. Theo didn’t know if he gained experience points after using it but also didn’t know the remaining experience points he needed to level up as well. It was like a runner who ran an endless race without seeing the final goal.
With all those problems, there was no way that Theo could reach his goal which was to become stronger than the lesser demon. Not only he didn’t even require the minimum to stay alive; he even believed that goblins, who were the weakest monsters in this world could even defeat him.
Although Theo was showing a happy and leisure attitude during the day, the night was the exact opposite, he was depressed and was genuinely thinking about how he could survive.
As he was still pondering about a way to get stronger faster, his eyes closed on their own due to the exhaustion of the day. He was extremely tired due to the physical training, the running, and the fight he had and fell asleep as if he didn’t sleep for several days.
