The night sky was peaceful and silent. Until at midnight loud sirens were heard and shattered glass filled the night sky and a black figure dashed on top of the rooftop.
"Get that mother fucker!"
Loud hollers, curses and gunshots were heard but the figure in black who jumped through the window didn't stop running.
"Do you think that person can be caught."
A slender blond man questioned. Beside him was a chubby little man who looked very anxious.
"He got near my wife that easily without anyone noticing and stole a 24 karat gold necklace. I can't even imagine him being captured."
"Why do you say him? We don't know that person's gender."
"Just a felling."
"Don't forget to order sone guards to search the area. You don't know if luck is actually on your side tonight."
"Might as well. At least i have a decent explanation to my wife."
The two people laughed and looked at the way the thief went. They could see the small figure disappear into the darkness.
Several hours later the thief successfully escaped and was resting on a ledge, inspecting the necklace she just stole.
"Damn It's heavy."
The voice of the thief was soft yet harsh at the same time. By the voice alone people would know that she was a girl, the only reason her gender wasn't exposed was because she was completely silent during the heist and her gaudy cloak concealed her hourglass figure.
Remembering the womanly figure who was standing straight while wearing this necklace, she cursed.
"How the fuck do nobles dance with these sort of things on their necks?"
Looking at the sky, she quickly realized it was already past midnight.
"Damn that old hag's gonna be mad."
She then quickly dashed forward and was enveloped by the darkness.
"Where have you been?"
"I just took a walk."
"Do you think i'd buy that?"
"Nope."
"What did you steal this time?"
"This."
I said that as i thrusted my hand out and shoved the necklace into her chest.
"Ugh. It's heavy. Is this gold?"
"Yep. Pretty sure."
A disoriented perplexed look appeared on her face. It seems she's just flabbergasted. She may scold me about this but she would smelt the gold and just sell it at the black market as always. She doesn't have a choice. The orphanage would be closed if she didn't. We're a bit short on money. Providing at least 20 people with food and clothes is difficult.
"I'm going to bed. I'm tired."
"You're joking right."
"Not at all auntie."
As i jumped onto my bed and went asleep she just sat at in the dining room confused on what to do.
By the time i woke up it was already 9 o'clock.
"Angie you up yet? Hurry up and buy the groceries."
Aunt Sylvia's thunderous shout instantly woke me up. Unable to go back to sleep. I got up and combed my hair. While combing my hair, I remembered how auntie used to do my hair.
"Remember Angie. You need to take good care of yourself. Your papa and mama would be happy then."
"Ok auntie."
Auntie said my hair was just like my mother's. Long and wavy in the color of silver.
"Hey hurry up! We don't have all day here!"
Another one of auntie's shout echoed through the floor. Damn the hag.
"Learn to have patience!"
"Only when we have a lot of money."
Damn gold digger.
"The money's in the bag. Just buy the usual."
"Yeah yeah auntie."
I grabbed my coat from the coat rack.
"Sis Angie can i come with you?"
Just when I was in a bad mood, this 8 year old girl clung to my leg when I was about to go out. Her eyes was big and teary. How can I decline her. I sighed.
"Fine Annie. Just put on your shoes."
"Yay."
This kid. She's always a handful.
The marketplace is as crowded as always. People trying to buy the best items and such. Sometimes there are soldiers who patrol the city but they don't do much.
Seeing a plump woman who looks extremely bored I prepared myself.
"Aunt Lessy I need the usual."
"My my Angie are you with Annie today?"
"Hello auntie."
"Hahaha. Hello Annie."
This plump auntie in front of me is always so talkative.
"Here's the money."
I tried to finish the daily shopping as fast as possible but this auntie always takes so long.
"My, can't you stay longer? I want to talk with Annie more."
"Then just visit the orphanage."
I quickly left with Annie after I grabbed the groceries.
"Come on Annie. The rest wants to have lunch."
Annie came with me with less resistance than i thought and we headed back home. Just as I was about to leave the marketplace loud galloping noise resounded.
"Attention everyone! A thief snuck into Earl Torchia's mansion last night and stole madam Torchia's necklace! If anyone has any leads on this thief report it to the nearby knight office! Anyone who dares help this thief hide will be executed!"
The loud knight in silver armor then slowly rode through the murmuring and gossiping crowds.
"Sis Angie, is a baddie going to steal from us?"
"No."
"Why?"
"Because we have nothing to steal."
Annie Immediately became chearful again and smiled brightly.
"So no one's going to steal my savings right?"
"As long as you're a good girl."
"Yay."
Back the orphanage auntie Sylvia was trying to make the young kids behave with the help of the older kids.
"Hey Natalie, stop fighting with Lee."
"Deidalous, stop running around without your pants."
These kids are all a handful.
"Attention!"
All the kids stopped moving and paid attention to me.
"If you all don't quite down. I'm not giving anymore bedtime stories to any of you."
That seems to do the trick for these kids. They all went silent.
"Now wait for after lunch! Don't do anything stupid."
"Okay."
They were all in sync. Kids are crazy.
Later on, auntie Sylvia was serving lunch for everyone, until the doorbell suddenly ranged and aunt Lessy barged in.
"Hello y'all."
I can't believe it she actually just came here.
"I have bread and veggies for you all."
The kids were too cheerful. Me and auntie Sylvia can't decline.
"Well Lessy isn't this a surprise. Why are you here?"
"Well Angie told me to visit. So I did."
"Well thank you for all of this. It's really a great help for the orphanage."
These two aunts. Whenever they start to gossip it'll always last for hours on end. Hence i quickly had the kids eat and finished my food.
The only place solitude for me now is at bed. So i hurriedly went to my room before these crazy aunts drag me into their gossip and took an afternoon nap.
