Episode 25 : Garden Of Eden (5)

The humongous tree that was in the center of the Garden Of Eden, was called ‘The Tree of Life’.

Somewhere on this tree's branches, there were Ruby and Sapphire who were sitting on one of the branches as per what Eve had assigned their seats.

After placing them on their seats, Eve immediately left to go find Adam because she was already getting excited for the upcoming event.

[Adam. We might have a good show today for once in our lives.] Eve talked to Adam who was setting up for the event.

[Indeed, we will.] Adam answered with no changes to his expression while he was focused on arranging the event.

As Eve watched Adam sorting out the event, she came close to him to give him a warm embrace behind him, illuminating her warmth around Adam with pure affection.

[Eve.. I'm working right now.] Adam sighed as he rested one of his hands on Eve's.

[Yes, I do know that.]

[Are you curious about that child who has the Nature Dragon within her?]

[Of course, I am. If that child is able to ace the event, we might have the chance to taste that fruit again.]

[It's forbidden for us, Eve.]

[But I want to taste it again. You know you like it too.]

[It has a tempting taste, so naturally, it's hard to get over it.]

[Right. Look over there, they seem to have a difficult time in picking the right person to participate in this event.]

Hearing that, Adam got a tiny bit nosy before he shifted his glance over where Eve was staring at.

When his eyes landed on ‘The Rebels' Guild, he was observing casually until he spotted something interesting inside the coffin.

Despite seeing the coffin once or twice earlier, Adam appeared to have noticed something intriguing within the coffin, it was as if he had seen the person inside that coffin.

Although hard to see clearly through the ice coffin, Adam looked to be fascinated by the fact that he must have seen that person before.

[That man.. His presence is still leaking out of that coffin even though he's already dead.]

Captivated by this man, Adam mumbled to himself as he was somewhat remembering the first and second times the event began.

To be precise, the first and second times of the Garden Of Eden event had appeared in the 7th and 77th lives of Satan (JoonChul) or resets of the systems.

Because of this, Adam and Eve hadn't seen a lot of people entering the garden and they needed to wait for millions and millions of years just to come into contacts with people.

Which was why Adam could easily recognize the people he had met, and since he seemed to recognize the man in the coffin. It was obvious that he grew curious over this man.

[Eve, do you remember a man in a black coat?] Adam asked Eve.

Eve was a little surprised by the question and so, she tilted her head and answered to him.

[I do remember one man who wore a black coat before. I think that man had three children and a cat beside him.]

The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

[Wait.. you don't mean..?] Eve's eyes shook intensely while she had laid her eyes on the coffin.

Out of a sudden, Eve finally remembered what those children in the past looked like, pointing her finger at Frostina, Mirai and Behemoth the moment she recognized them.

[Ah! Those children looked just like the two ladies down there, along with the cat too! But where's the other one?]

[..! That is true.. Why didn't I notice that?] Adam asked himself while rubbing his temple.

[It's because we only saw them when they were young. So of course, it would be slightly harder to figure out their appearances when they grew older.]

[..This is truly fascinating.]

After realizing this, Adam craved a smirk on his face before going back to set the event.

As Adam was preparing the event, Eve had noticed Adam making the event much more challenging than before, adding complicated questions by tapping the panels in front of him.

[What are you doing, Adam? You're making it harder than it already is.] Eve spoke.

[I'm only making sure I get back at him for making us eat that fruit.]

[Haha. Don't tell me you're still mad?]

[It's a secret.]

Afterwards, not wanting to pry much further into Adam's business, Eve only sighed and pouted as she walked away from Adam to do her part of the event's preparations.

———

Finally, it has started.

[Special Event, ‘Garden Of Eden’ has begun.]

A system message greeting everyone after a short break had alarmed them that this event would be nerve-wracking.

"Mya.. Are you sure you're fine with this? You don't have to do it."

HwanGi asked Mya as he was worried about the consequences of the possible mistakes she might make in this event.

‘I feel so restless by the fact that Mya has to go through this.’ HwanGi thought.

Since he and everyone here knew from Frostina that this event will take anything as a price from just a single mistake. If one mistake is made, then one part of one's body will be removed immediately as a cost.

‘I can't even stop Mya because of what Frostina had informed me about the start of this event's first task.’ HwanGi thought as his hands were tightening his grips on Mya's shoulders.

He resumed thinking. ‘Am I that selfish to let a child participate in this event just for a chance to get JoonChul-ssi resurrected?’

‘If Mya failed and died because of this, then..’

By then, Louis had come up toward them as he removed HwanGi's hands off of Mya, saying something like this to them.

"I believe in Mya, so don't pressure yourself so much when it starts, okay?"

Encouraging Mya and stopping HwanGi's questions to himself, Louis expressed a grin which put HwanGi's mind a bit at ease while for Mya, Louis's smile seemed to her as a smile that raised her spirit up for this event.

"Why are you all so worried about it? I'll be doing the work for Mya so that she won't get herself hurt. So don't let concerns take over you, silly." Alaine chuckled.

After bumping her fist softly on HwanGi's arm, Alaine joined in on the conversation as she enlightened the mood a little.

"Too late. I'm already concerned for your well-being, Alaine." Louis spoke as his cheeks were slightly red.

Although it was unnoticeable for Alaine to realize Louis was blushing a bit, Alaine was too clueless to notice it.

But Alaine did blush when she was responding back to Louis's concerns.

"What?! I don't need your concerns since I'm already strong enough to take care of myself."

"Ahem.." Louis coughed.

While in the middle of their conversation, HwanGi stared at those two chattering, eventually laying his gaze on Mya who was watching the same sight.

‘Even though Frostina knows about Mya's wish, why did Frostina pick Mya for this..? Doesn't she want JoonChul-ssi to be resurrected? So why chose Mya when she wanted her mother to be revived?’

HwanGi's mind went crazy with an endless amount of questions, flooding his head in its entirety.

‘Does Frostina have some sorts of a plan? There is no way she would let Mya go away with resurrecting her mother..’

As a result of his continuous questioning, HwanGi had directed his eyes over to Frostina, gazing at her to inspect what her inner thoughts were.

Though it was pointless to guess what she was thinking when she had that kind of expression. Thus, HwanGi sighed and figured it was better to let things flow as it is.

"Whatever it is, I'll absolutely protect Mya and respect her choice. Even if it means risking JoonChul-ssi being dead forever."

Mumbling to himself as he laid his eyes on the coffin, HwanGi wasn't aware that his words had been overheard by Mya who was standing with him.

Having to hear such a thing, Mya was now puzzled and confused by what she must or must not do.

Undoubtedly, Mya felt complicated by her choice now, not certain whether it was the right choice to seek her mother's revival.

‘No! I want my mother back, don't I? I shouldn't be like this.. My sisters and father all miss mama.. So it should be okay to wish her to be alive, right..?’

Mya thought to herself while clinging onto her amulet, unexpectedly hearing the voices from above.

[Has everyone chosen their participants for this event?] Adam asked as he was descending down to the grass with Eve.

Afterwards, Mirai, Alaine and Mya stood up front, having their eyes onto Adam and Eve to show them that they were ready to get on with it.

Of course, Mya was still nervous and perplexed which was why she was holding onto Alaine's hand. Even Alaine was a little surprised by this and felt that Mya's hand was sweating from the tension.

[I see that these three will be the ones completing this event. Very well.] Adam spoke.

After that, Eve immediately came in and told them. [For your information, this will be more difficult than ever. So pray for your lives to be intact right now before it's really too late.]

Having to hear that, Mya gulped down her saliva while her hand was tightening its grasp on Alaine's. As her head kept imagining a horrible scenario, Mya was slightly quivering from those imaginations of hers.

Mya mused as she was questioning her abilities. ‘..Will I really be fine…? Even if I said I wish for my mother to be alive.. will I be able to do it though?’

"Hey, Mya. Why are you this nervous than the time you were fighting the polar bears and Noel?" Alaine asked Mya which startled her.

"A..ah! It was because.. Erm.." Mya, struggling to reply, fidgeted with her fingers.

[Now that we have the participants, why don't we start this wonderful event? We can't have the ‘Helpers’ waiting longer anymore.]

After a while, Eve stated before going up to the three ladies which were the participants. When Eve arrived in front of them, she extended her hands to reveal a crystal ball to them.

After that, Eve mentioned. [To begin, please put your hand on the crystal sphere.]

Mirai, who thought she wasn't hesitant, still hesitated to rest her hand on the crystal ball. Even so, she did it after a short time.

‘This is time, it is for captain. I won't fail a second time!’ Mirai resolved herself.

With how anxious Mya seemed, Alaine figured it was better to do it for her. Which was why Alaine raised both of their hands and placed them on the orbuculum.

"E-Eh?" Stunned, Mya uttered while having her hand being placed on the crystal ball because of Alaine.

And eventually, Eve without giving Mya time to ask Alaine why, exclaimed. [Then let us proceed with this event!]

Accompanied with a flash of light blinding from the crystal sphere into everyone's eyes, a system message soon emerged in the midst of this all.
