The story follows Gemma also known as Gemz who is a high school student in a small rural snowy type town who meets what she believes is the boy next door. As the relationship progresses Gemz soon realizes that the boy next door is not who she thinks. In an attempt to regain her life she must go through some unimaginable pain and challenges in order to be set free. However, she will learn that freedom is not as close as she thinks and her sanity will slowly start to slip away.
